VANESSA
“Van,” Mary called and I looked up from my bowl of half eaten custard to stare at her. She had a gloomy look on her face, it had been like that since she arrived this morning.
“Yeah.”
“I am going home today, I need to see my mother and little sister. My dad has asked me to take a break from training and spend some time with them before highschool resumes.” Mary explained, hearing that alone was enough to steal my appetite.
I dropped the bowl on the table, giving her my full attention. “You are leaving? So soon?”
“I told you before right?”
“Yes…but I didn't think you would leave this early. I…I…” trailing off, I pinched my hand.
“Please don't mind me, I totally understand you. Thank the Goddess I am doing a lot better now.” I forced a smile, hiding the emotions b
