23Damn Hot, Soldier!The next morning dawned as hot and fetid as the one before, and despite very little sleep, Tazia shifted as soon as a single shaft of light pierced the window coverings and created a beam across her bed. She gazed at it, eyes focusing on the dust that danced a foot above of her. She could see each speck with sharp clarity. If only the plan she and Billy had hashed out in the early hours was as fully formed as each of those particles. But it wasn’t.
