Back At Mum House

It has been three days since I got dropped off by the police officers at a foster house.

I haven't left my room since I arrived. I have just been notified by the police from my mum lawyer that my mum's funeral will be this week and her house will be put on the market in three weeks. Laying in bed depressed and crying I had no choice but to pull myself together.

Heading down stairs it was time to meet the members living here. everyone was in the kitchen making their own lunch.

"Hey Emily. Sorry about your mum. Hope your doing a bit better" Stacy said heart felt

"Hey everyone this is Emily. She new. She will be staying with us for a bit."

"Hey" The others said

"Hey"

"So Emily. What do you think so far?"

"Not too bad aye."

"Well. Everyone is making lunch for themselves. You must be hungry?"

"As you don't live permanently here yet. The second shelf in the cupboard and fridge are for newbies like yourself. Ben, Jerry and Sophie are also new and have only been here for a few days."

"Ben is about to get placed with his aunt and uncle."

"Fly, She also another about to get placement they found her a foster family yesterday. So hopefully that goes well for her.She has been here for a few months."

"Grab some food and come to the dining table."

Grabbing a bowl of cornflakes and milk I went and sat down at the table.

Everyone chatting among themselves.

"Kayla has just been offered a promotion at work." Mel mentioned

Everyone cheered

"Moving up girl." Dex said

"So, Emily it's movie night tonight. We will all get ready for bed early and kick back in the living room together watching movies all night long."

"Sounds fun."

"Yeah, It is. We have a few new movies to watch tonight."

"Cant wait to watch the new blood drop." Kyron said

"Yeah same number one was good." Dylan said

"Good it was great." kyson debate

"yes yes, we know. don't need to tell us the story line again." Jayden said having a giggle.

"What blood drop?" Emily asked

"No" Kyra said under her breath

"No. She didn't just say that?" Kyson asked

"Emily, what have you done." Stacy said devastated

"What?" Emily asked confused

"Just wait." Kyra said

"You don't know what blood drop is?"

"Have you been living under a rock?"

"We need to watch it first thing tonight." Kyson said half pissed off

"Aww, that wasn't to bad." Kyra said shocked

"Yo Everybody. We all agree on watching Blood drop one and two first up tonight." Kyron shout out

Everyone cheered

Finishing with my food I washed my bowl up and put it away. Making a peanut sandwich I headed back upstairs to my room unlocking the door I handed the sandwich to Timber to eat. Walking in I start to prepare myself for a shower grabbing fresh clothes out of my bag and placing them on the bed. Heading into the bathroom I grabbed the towel of the door handle and placed it on the towel rack turning on the shower I had to wait for the water to heat up in the meantime I refilled Timbers water bowl. Waiting a few minutes long it finally warmed up jumped into the shower and having a good wash as it has been a few days.

Washing my hair, teeth and body. I was all finished grabbing the towel off the rack I dried my body, got dressed and did my hair. Grabbing Timber lead and harness out of my backpack I place them on him and headed down stairs and out the front door for a walk.

Walking around the street. I end up at the front of my mum's house. Standing out the front staring at the house.

My phone alarm went off.

"Reminder - Mum Funeral in three days."

Tapping the snooze button. The alarm turned off for 15 minutes.

Walking up to the front door. It was locked and I didn't have my key on me.

Entering into the backyard. I let Timber of his leash. Running around the backyard happy and enjoying his toys. I entered into the house through the window that couldn't lock. Heading upstairs to mum bedroom to grab a suitcase. I froze at her door smell mum perfume exiting out of her door.

Taking a deep breath in. I entered grabbing out her suitcase I placed her jewellery, perfume, Photo book, a blanket and a couple of her little important belongings to keep safe.

Heading into my bedroom I grabbed my black dress and high heels for mum funeral placing them in a backpack.

My phone alarm went off again.

"Reminder - Mum Funeral in three days."

Tapping the snooze button. The alarm turned off for another 15 minutes.

I collected a few more items from around the house that I thought would come in handy.

I grabbed the beach trolley from outside and filled it with all the food in the house as it was all gonna go to waste and off.

"That should be everything I need for now."

Dragging the trolley out in the back yard. I headed back inside grabbing the suitcase, a blanket and the backpack adding a few more clothes into the backpack. Placing the blanket on top of the food, the backpack on my back and the suitcase next to the trolley I locked up the back door and climbed back out the window and closed it down. Putting timbers leash in the backpack we headed out the backyard pushing the beach trolley and the suitcase down the street and back to the foster house.

Arriving at the foster house. I dragged everything upstairs to my bedroom. Placing the suitcase under the bed. I pulled the beach trolley towards the bed and sat down.

Going through the food. I made three piles on the ground. One for me to keep in my room, a freezer pile and a cupboard piles. Finishing up with the food I placed mine pile back into the beach trolley and pulled it into the little walk in wardrobe.

Heading down stairs into the kitchen I grabbed two shopping bags out of the cupboard and head back upstairs filling the bag with frozen and cupboard food. I headed back down into the kitchen placing the food on the second shelf in the cupboard and fridge.

"Nah, girl if you buy food you grab a label and place it on an empty shelf. So no one else will eat your food." Kayla said

"Ain't that for permanent resident only?"

"You know after two weeks."

"Nah, After two weeks. You have no choice but to get a job and support yourself. If not they send you to boarding school. If you can afford to buy food before the two weeks then you can still have your own selves still. Do you have a job already?"

"Nah, I when over my to my mum house. I got the food out the fridge and cupboards before it went off and thrown out as it was all the fridge stuff was fresh brought stuff from the day of my mum passing."

"Nice thinking."

"Yeah, Just was walking my dog and end up out the front. Though I'll grab a few things."

"Sorry to ask but ain't your house a crime seen?"

"Nah, why say that?"

"Swear the what I heard ears dropping on Max and Mel."

"Nah my mum was involved in a bit and run but they plan on selling the house in three weeks."

"Can they do that."

"Apparently they can."

"Do you get the funds."

"Yeah, when I'm older."

"That's good then."

"Did you want help."

"I can grab you a label if you like."

"Nah, should be fine. I'm gonna keep them on the shelves this time round for us to all share."

"Thank you for the offer."

"Aww, your sweet."

Placing the last off of the food on the shelves.

Kayla and headed out into the living room where everyone was rushing around.

"What's going on here?" I asked curiously

"Every Wednesday we have movie and game night. We all chuck in with snacks, games and movies. A have a blast all night. Well we try and stay up to light but most pass out." Kayla replied

"Hah, yeah let not name them that crash early." Mel mentioned with a giggle

"We just starting to prepare."

"Yeah nice."

"need any help?"

"nah, we all good here but you have any games we could play that would be cool."

"Nah, I don't on me but my mum and I were big game players. If you want I can pop over to her house and collect them upas they're gonna go in the bin or charity."

"Nah, you don't have to do that."

"Nah, it fine. I'll take my dog for a walk."

"It not far from the shops."

"Could I come along?"

"I need to pop into the shop." Kayla asked

"Yeah, why not."

"Sweet, Let me grab my shoes and cash."

"No rush. Meet me at my room."

Kayla and I headed upstairs separating at the stairs well we headed off to our bedroom.

Unlocking my bedroom door Timber was sitting waiting.

"Good boy" I said giving Timber head a pat.

"We going for a walk boy."

"Have a drink."

Timber walked into the bathroom and drunk from his water bowl.

Sitting on my bed going through my backpack looking for the house key to mum place.

Can't find it stressing out.

I tipping everything out of the bag.

Stressful searching. I notice the black dress and high heels and it wasn't the backpack I need. Claim down. I grabbed the bag from under the bed.

A knock from the door.

"One second." I said

Unzipped the first little pocket on the bag I put my hand inside I pulled out the key.

"Found it" I cheered

Unlocking the door. Kayla stand there waiting

"Come in, Sorry be ready in just a second about to put timbers harness on."

"All good."

"So you found what you was looking for?" Kayla had a giggle

Kneeling down in front of timber I was putting his harness on him. Turning my head I looked back at kayla with a giggle I replied "Hah, you heard that."

"Thought I lost my mum house key."

A dead silence when over the room.

"Um, you sure you want to go back there."

"Yeah, It's okay. I did it earlier."

Taking a deep breath.

"Let go." Grabbing Timber leash I clipped it to his harness heading out the door I locked up the room.

"Evening girls."

"I see your making new friends."

"Evening Molly." Kayla and I both said

"We just heading to the shops. Did you need anything?" Kayla asked

"Yes actually. Could you get a couple drinks for the newbies shelves and two coke for myself.

"Molly, I...." I began saying before getting cut off by Stacy.

"Molly why don't you grab the money for them."

"Give me a second." Molly said head into her room down stairs.

" Girls, come here. "

"What this?"

Heading into the kitchen.

"Emily, you need to get timber out of the kitchen. Molly will go mad."

"Okay one second."

Taking timber out the front I tyed him to the fence.

"Sit, wait, stay" I command timber

"I will be back."

Heading back into the kitchen.

Stacy opened the fridge.

"You need your own selve. Molly buy food for the newbies. If you add to it she will stop buying food giving her the money she doesn't have to buy alcohol. Molly a bad alcoholic. She got sober and started up a place for teen foster kids that got no place to go."

"Molly will expect me to continue doing my own shopping if I have my own shelve right now. I don't have a job. I can't support myself independently yet."

"Where did the food come from?"

"I when to my mum house early."

" Aww, well it's better than going to waste. and the fridge and freezer need to go in the cold no matter."

"I'll help you out but I need a favour later."

"Okay." Come on help me put them onto my selves."

"Thanks"

"Kayla and I are heading out to get games. You want to come?"

"Nah I should help the others for tonight."

"We will be back soon."

Back in the living room. Kayla collects the money from Molly.

"Also grab a few snacks for the cupboard for tonight for your movie night."

"Okay, thanks Molly see you soon."

Heading out the front I grabbed timber from the fence and headed down the street with Kayla.

"So you live around here your hole time?" Kayla asked

"Yeah, actually. We moved around but always came back to this town."

"Cool. I lived out of town. I had a foster family.They abused me. Their son got me pregnant. His parents tied me up and beat me until I was bleeding out and left me to die. A neighbour must have heard or seen something police were called and they were arrested trying to leave town.

Not knowing what to say. tears starting to form in my eyes. I stopped looked at Kayla and gave her a big hug.

"What was that for?"

"To be honest I think we both need it."

A few minutes later we arrived at mum.

"Her she is" I said walking up the driveway.

"It's beautiful."

"It took my mum so long to get here just for it all to go as quickly as it came."

"It wasn't always easy for use. Never was really. we always had each other and a roof over our head which was my mum's main priority.

Entering into the house I grabbed the game boards and Timber food and a couple of timber toys.

Heading back out we headed over to the shops. Kayla ran inside grabbing a few items that she needed and Molly asked for.

Heading back to the foster house everyone was in the kitchen preparing dinner.

After dinner we all sat up most of the night play board games , card, truth and dare, and watch a hole ton of movies.
