“And Eric, one more favor?" Matthew asks over the speaker.
"Oh, yeah? What's that?" Eric glances at the cellphone and back at me, looking down into the tub where I lay. An emotion I don’t recognize crosses his face, but passes too quickly to decipher. Anxiety, perhaps? Or regret? Oh well. It's lost to history now.
Matthew's playful tone fills the little bathroom, "Make it a late one for her."
Eric's eyes crinkle at the edges in a half smile as his task is set to him. "Will do."
