IntroductionLove is light. Vampires are shadows. The two should never touch—yet fate has a way of breaking rules written in blood.Olivia Bennett was an ordinary woman, living a life of quiet routines: early mornings at the café, laughter with her best friend Martha, and the warmth of her father’s steady guidance. She never believed in monsters, never thought danger could stalk her ordinary streets. Until one night, when the shadows saved her.Andrew was a creature bound by centuries of darkness. A vampire cursed to walk among mortals, hiding the hunger that defined him. He had long accepted that his kind could never coexist with humans—until he crossed paths with Olivia. Her innocence called to him, her courage unsettled him, and her kindness awakened something he thought had died long ago: a heart capable of love. But love between a human and a vampire is forbidden, fragile, and dangerous. As Olivia is drawn deeper into Andrew’s hidden world, she discovers secrets that threaten not only her life but the fate of everyone she loves. For there are others—vampires who despise humans, and men like her own boss, Joseph, who would rather see her dead than allow the truth to surface. In the clash between light and shadow, love becomes both a weapon and a weakness. Can Olivia and Andrew defy the laws of their worlds and carve a future together? Or will darkness claim them before love has the chance to bloom? This is their story—of fear, sacrifice, and a love so fierce it defies the night.

The Stranger in the Night
The streets were quiet that evening, too quiet for Olivia’s liking. The only sound was the crunch of her boots against gravel as she hurried home from her late shift at the bookstore. The lamps flickered weakly, throwing long, ghostly shadows on the pavement. She clutched her coat tighter around her, wishing she had accepted her friend’s offer of a ride. Then she heard it. A second pair of footsteps. Slow. Deliberate. Following. Her heartbeat quickened. Olivia tried not to look back, but curiosity clawed at her until she risked a glance over her shoulder. A figure was there, tall and broad, half-swallowed by the darkness of the alley. She couldn’t make out his face, only the steady rhythm of his stride. Panic surged. She quickened her pace. The figure followed. She ducked into a side street, hoping to lose him, but that only drew her into deeper shadows. Suddenly, a hand grabbed her arm. She gasped, about to scream—until another shadow moved faster than her eyes could follow. In a blink, her attacker was flung across the alley, colliding with the wall and collapsing in a heap. “Run,” a low voice commanded. Olivia froze, her breath ragged, her eyes darting to the one who had saved her. He stood there like a statue carved from moonlight, impossibly tall, with sharp features that looked almost too perfect to belong to a man. His hair fell in dark waves across his forehead, and his eyes—she swore for a heartbeat they gleamed crimson in the dark. She didn’t move. The stranger tilted his head, as though puzzled by her stillness. “You should go,” he said again, his voice smoother now, almost melodic, though carrying a weight that chilled her spine. Olivia swallowed hard. “Who… who are you?” The man stepped back into shadow, his expression unreadable. For a moment she thought he might leave without answering. Then, softly, he spoke a single word. “Andrew.” The name lingered in the air like a secret. Before she could ask more, he was gone. No footsteps, no retreating shadow—just gone, as though the night itself had swallowed him whole. Olivia stood trembling, staring into the empty alley where he had been. The man who had saved her was no ordinary stranger. There was something inhuman in the way he had moved, something dangerous in the glow of his eyes. And yet… beneath her fear was something else. A pull, a strange fascination that made her heart race in ways it never had before. As she finally walked home, the name echoed in her mind. Andrew. The stranger in the night.
