The Beginning of a Fight
Elizabeth's POV
Running down the hall of the pack house, I can't help but wonder if this is going to be my every day life. Walking in on my mate, having s*x with another woman. Fara Forbes, my old child hood friend, now the bane of my existence. Tears rush out of my eyes, as I speed past many people. This isn't how it's supposed to go. I'm his mate! I'm the one created for him! Why?!
Not looking behind me to see if I'm getting chased, I slowly slow down once I hit the woods. The notorious back end of the woods, the place where I found my mate to begin with. "I wish I never knew him. I wish I was never his mate. Why me, moon goddess? Why him?" Cruel and forbidding, I fall to my knees in defeat. You'd think we'd be used to it by now. My wolf heaves a sigh in my mind as she tries to comfort us both, deep down we both know it wasn't working.
Eventually, the smell of my Alpha hits me, and I stand. Turning around, all I could sense was dread. 'I'm going to be hit.' Just like that, the only sound in the air other than the birds hovering over was the loud sound of his hand hitting my face. "Who the f**k do you think you are? Coming into my room?! Do you really think an ugly b***h like you is worthy of being MY Luna?! My wife?! Don't make me laugh. You're a disappointment to me, to your family, and to this pack. You're only a hindrance. Don't you ever try coming to my room again. I, Liam North, reject you, Elizabeth Calimara, as my mate!" The words themselves didn't sting, nor did the burning sensation on my cheek. I was used to these kinds of things. What hurt was the fact, he rejected me. He rejected me and he doesn't even know me.
I stand there silently as he walks away, pissed off. My wolf, Nora, whimpers then goes quiet. I look up at the sky as it turns to many other forms of dark gray. Slowly, rain falls down on me, till I am washed away in all the pain that has welled up inside my body. I fall to the ground, crying. "I'm sorry."
