Chapter 12 Prince Rye.

1323 Words
I have a surprise for Sol today. She’s been asking about it since the wedding and I can't help but feel excited for her reaction. Today I'm spending most of my day at the office once again and Sol is with Kye and Angel. Angel is getting better slowly. My morning is packed with meetings. A Lot of humans want to invest in projects with us, they want us to be partners. Most of them have good ideas and then some of them are just looking for free cash. Our income comes from stock piling, restaurants and hotels we own around the world. It took us a long time to build ourselves to where we are now but every second was worth it. I remember before rebuilding our colony, how we had to get our blood thirst under control and walk like him in the hot sun. For entries until we accumulated enough to buy our first Restaurant. Of course the world wasn't ready to accept our kind so we hid in buildings with underground spaces. Anyway, once we opened up our first bar, my father had three of his bodies, the ones that run the council. We opened up our first bar ‘Nights’ because most of us would come out at night time. We never excluded the humans because, well, we needed that money. After nights became a big thing we were able to open a second and a third, fourth, fifth until we expanded out of Toronto. Then the humans started coming to us for help, for food, for funds and in exchange they gave us blood. They were willing to come to us for help because the Government only cared about throwing lavish parties other than feeding their citizens. That's how we started taking over small cities and towns in one or two countries. Many love us because we take care of them and treat them like family, but many hate us because we take care of others like family. A notification on my phone pulled me away from what I was doing. Council member Ferra sent a last minute guest name that would be attending the party. Orisha. Orisha was my first love, beautiful smile, kind heart and banging body. The only thing with Orisha was that she never seemed to know her place, when to draw the line and not step over it. Long story short, we, well I beige things off because Sol was coming of age for our marriage and if had enough of her and her attitude. I look at the phone once more and my stomach churned, something about her visit seemed off to me and if I can do everything in my power to keep Sol away from her I will. A knock on the door startled me, drawing me from my thoughts. “Sir, there is an issue at one of our sites. It appears one of our own attacked a human.” Tamika my assistant said. “Ok. Which site.” “Flores sir.” I stand grab my coat and my phone to head out, “Should I notify Louis and Victor?” she asked. “Yes, tell them I will be there by the time they arrive.” “Yes sir.” Flores is my baby, i put my heart into that water front hotel. In order to show the humans that once lived on the land I'm willing to help with their living, I agreed to give them jobs. But since we've started building it's been a constant battle, I'm not saying my kind would start s**t. But what I'm doing is going off of what happened when all the other accidents took place. When I arrive everyone is standing around in a circle, two groups would like to guest how they are grouped off. “Princess Rye I didn't mean to, he started it. He wouldn't stop talking about his ``we're blood suckers and we eat babies.” worker one says, “If it's not true then you wouldn't take offence, unless your eating babies and sucking their mothers blood.” worker two says, “I'll suck you dry if you don't shut to hell up.” worker one shouts. “What see the rules on this site?” I ask “We must work together as one, in order to live together as one.” They all shout. “I can’t work with him, I’d rather starve than work with you monsters. I can’t believe our kind hearted Queen Louis would give her daughter to you. ``Shiny bastard.” Worker two said. “What did you say, let me suck him dry.” Worker two goes running in worker one’s direction, within a flash he has him on the floor reading his hand to punch at his face. “Don’t, do you want to end up in the hands of the council?” I shout. The other men pull them from each other and I stand to watch them both. “You're both suspended.” I shout. “You can’t do this please Prince Rye. I have to feed my family.” Worker two said. “Now how is that fare, we should report them both to the council.” I hear the voice of my brother in law in the background. “King victor, Kyro.” I greet them both. “We should report the blood sucker and the i***t human to the council so they could accept their punishment. Because clearly they both don’t know how good this waterfront hotel would do for our country.” Kyro spat. “The human wouldn’t survive it, let’s just go with the Prince Rye idea. You're both suspended, you'll report back to work in two weeks and you’ll get this week's salary only.” King victor said. “Now grab your stuff and leave. Report to my office tomorrow for your checks.” They both mumbled before leaving. “How have you been king victor, I haven’t seen you in a while.” Not that I care but small talk is better than no talk. “Fine, I’ve been fighting the flu. How are you and my daughter?” He ask “She’s fine, I’m great. We attended her friend's burial a couple days ago, Emily I didn’t know Sol had friends.” They both looked at each other. My phone went off. I pulled it from my pocket and answered. It’s the chief telling me the cake is ready and on its way home. I asked him to stall as much as he could so I could make it home in time to see her face. “King victor, kyro I have to take my leave now. I’m having something delivered home, so enjoy the rest of your evening.” I got home just in time, Sol and Kye were sitting in the living room playing a board game when I walked in. The chief placed the cake in the kitchen and stood aside awaiting her reaction. If it’s one thing about chief Ralph is that he makes amazing desserts and he loves seeing his clients reaction. The cake is a two tier red velvet cake. The outside is covered with red fondant with golden flowers around it to the top of the cake are molds of both me and Sol. Since our wedding cake was ruined with blood I desired to make her a smaller one, exactly like the big one. I called her into the kitchen and watched as her eyes lit up. She looked at a child on Christmas opening their presents. “It’s amazing, it’s beautiful. Can I have a slice?” She asks. “Sure.” I take a knife and cut a thick slice, turn around to face her and feed her a piece. “What the f**k are you doing.” Sol jumped and her body went stiff.
