Chapter 9 Sol.

1528 Words
The bloody visit. I sit in the back of the black SUV that's taking us to the heart of Doris, Holmes. The city is filled with people both humans and vampires. The car comes to a halt outside a huge black gate with a white mansion behind it that's heavily guarded. As we stepped out the car I heard the unexpected. “Sol, take this you traitor.” SPLASH! I turned around to do with Rye standing in front of me, his arms open wide with blood dripping from his body. He turns and looks me over making sure I'm alright. I couldn't care about what had hit me or not, what I care about is the person standing before me. The person I thought was dead a long time ago. “Emily.” I say out loud. Rye’s head snapped back as if I was talking to his cousin's wife but I wasn't. Emily, my best friend. I thought she was dead, but she isn't. She's alive and standing in front of me doesn't look the same, she's smaller than her ice thick frame. Her hair is thin and dry, her eyes look like she hasn't slept in ages. What happened to her. “I can't believe you Sol, I can't believe you. I can't believe you'd betray your kind. For what.. Something that shines under the moonlight.” “Emily, I thought you were dead.” “We all thought you were dead, we haven't seen you for ages. Then we heard the news that you agreed to be married. What happened Sol, did they..” “They did nothing.. Now leave before I have you thrown in the dungeon.” What I wanted to say was ‘I haven't seen you in so long, I miss you and our friendship.’ but I can't because if she speaks of anything from my past Rye would catch on to what happened to me. “If I leave you’re leaving with me.” She grabs a knife from her pocket and runs towards me with it, I'm stuck in the very position I'm in filled with shock. Rye stops her mid air and drops her to the ground. He kicks the knife away and walks over to her as she drags herself on the floor away from him. “How did you know we would be here, how good you would be here?.” he asked, “No one told me anything. I camped out waiting for you. I haven't slept in days just because I didn't want to miss this opportunity to kill you both.” “Emily Thorn, you are hereby sentenced to death for attempting to kill a royal.” Rye said. “I have one last thing to say, it's not to you it's to her.” She tilted her head and looks at me, “I missed you, I really missed you. But I'm now ashamed to have called you my best friend. Lewis.. Would have been ashamed of you. Now do what you can and send me to meet my father so that your kind sucked dry.” Every word that came out of her mouth got me in the heart, no not hit, stabbed me in the heart and twisted the knife. Lewis, my love, he would have been disappointed in me. Emily, my only friend, the one I love after my sister now hates me. “So be it.” Rye’s words dragged me out of my thoughts. I looked up and saw Emily in the sky with his arms around her throat. I crawled on the floor closer to him and now my head to the floor. “Please, I Princess Sol beg you Prince Rye to let her live. If it has to be I'll accept her punishment. My Prince.” I didn't stop there. If I could save Enily’s life I will. “She is not well my Prince, she clearly isn't. Her hair, face and body are signs of it. Please let her go.” He places Emily on her feet and tells her to go, but next time her life wouldn't be spared. His attention is now turned to me along with others that I didn't even realize was standing around us. “Get up.” He stretched out his hand to me and I took it and stood. He's covered in blood, his shirt, hands, and face is covered in it. I take the arm of my shirt and whip his face as clean as I could before he grabs my hand and we walk towards the big back gates. Before entering the house Rye had me stay outside until he was finished greeting Sir Leon. Sit Leon from what Rye told me is blood thirsty. The smell of blood drives him insane and he can't help himself. After loud noises and groaning I was finally able to go inside with Frank by my side. The house is beautiful, it's white and gold just kike the castle except he has black floors. An elderly looking man gets up from the seat beside Rye and walks over to me greeting me, he then smells me. “Sir Leon, I'd watch it if I were you.” I heard Frank say. Sir Leon looked up at Frank and smiled. “Princess Sol it’s a pleasure to finally meet you, I’m sorry I couldn’t attend your wedding.” “It’s ok, it’s a pleasure to meet you as well.” We shook hands and he returned to his seat next to Rye as I looked around at his paintings. Only one caught my attention, one of a crying baby in its mothers arms. The painting looks so real and so raw, “1985, my first wife wanted a portrait painted of her and our baby. But no matter how much we tried every single day Tilly cried. So we painted the picture that way.” “You have a daughter?” “Had, and a wife. They both died when the disease took over.” “I’m sorry for your loss, may they rest eternally.” Taking his hand in mine I give it a light squeeze and smile. “Our Rye has found himself a good thing. May I.” He gestured to my forehead and I bend a little. His cold hand touched and we both pulled in a deep breath, my mind went blank and I could see the memories of my past, then the present and nothing else. But I’m sure he saw my future because when he pulled away he looked at me in disbelief. His eyes scanned the room and then his hand landed on my shoulder. “Your purpose will no longer be your purpose. You will find peace and happiness when the time is right.” He shook his head and returned to his seat, a bell rang and a young maid came running out of a room, she gave him a glass of what looked like blood and then turned to Rye. “I’m sorry my Prince.. but Sir Leon needs to rest now.” “Yes, Rayan. Take him to rest.” When we returned home we had dinner with the others and then prepared for bed, Rye hasn’t said a word to me since we got home and I’ve been racking my brain ever since thinking about what’s got him upset. Is it because of what Emily said or Siri Leon, “Did I do something wrong?” I asked, I couldn’t hold back the question any longer. “Yes you did.” He stood from behind his desk and walked over to me. “I apologize, it’s not my intentions to get you or anyone angry.” “Do you know what you did wrong?” “I can’t say I do.” “We’ll I’ll tell you so that way you’ll never do it again. You never go down on your knees and bow your head in front of me or anyone. You are to never beg me in front of anyone. Unless you want me to please you, or you want me to please me. Let it never happen again.” “Ohh..ok. Ami to bow before you.” “No, not now, not ever.” “Are you going to kill her?” “Who?” “Emily, my friend.” No, I've sent men in search of her to take her to the hospital for medical attention. I’ll keep you updated once she’s been found.” “Thank you.” “I’ll do anything fit for Sol, once it’s in my reach and it’s not breaking the rules. There is no need to thank me with words. A kiss would be much more satisfying.” Bouncing to my feet instantly I ran to where he’s standing and placed a little kiss on his cheek. Turning to run back under the covers he grabs my hand, pulls me into him, wraps his arms around my waist and kisses my lips. “Now go to bed.” And just like that he’s gone.
