792 Words
WHO IS PRINCESS SOL. I woke up to Rye talking to someone on the phone, he’s pacing back and forth hands rubbing aggressively across his face. “Is everything ok.” I ask asi sit up in the bed. “I’ll call you back.” He hangs the phone up and sits next to me at the edge of the bed. “I’ll need you to get up and get dressed, and come down for breakfast. I have somewhere we need to go.” “Is everything ok?” “Go get ready, meet me downstairs. I have to go talk to my father.” “Ok.” It didn’t take me that long to get ready and when I came out of the shower there were clothes laid out for me on the bed. A black dress, black over coat and a pair of close toe black heels. Everything inside me screamed don’t, that something is wrong but I chose to ignore it. Getting dressed and pulling my hair into a ponytail I look myself over in the mirror. How they manage to get my size is a mystery to me. After breakfast, which we ate alone, we left. Rye didn’t speak until we came to a stop outside a huge church. Taking my hand and helping me from the backseat of the car, he pulled me into a tight long hug. “Sol, my love.” “What's wrong, did something happen to Sir Leon?” “Emily died Sol, she had cancer.” My heart sank in my chest and my knees went weak, everything inside of me felt dead and empty. The last thing she said to me ran through my mind. “You said she was fine, you said she was getting help. How..” “She signed an agreement that if her heart failed or she passed out to not being back Sol.but she left you something. The doctors found the envelope under her pillow.” He slipped it in my pocket. “Now let's go inside, so you can say goodbye to her.” “I don't want to. I can't say goodbye to her, she's..” “You can.” Looking at Emily laying in the wooden box did so Something to me, it made me wonder how many people from my life before this had left and gone. How many burials I've missed. Because of them. Because of the people that stole me and my sister from our parents. King Victor and Queen Louis killed my parents and stole us. If only my parents had listened to me and not trusted them, not gone over to their house for tea that rainy night we would still all be together. Me, Emily, Rain and Lewis we would have all still be together happy. But they took everything from me. All my happiness, my childhood, my teenage years leaving me with scars and anger. I run my hand through her hair and down her cold face, Emily my beautiful Emily is gone. My knees went weak again and I couldn't hold back the scream inside of me. I let it out, all the tears and all the hurt I let it out. Rye buried her with her family, and within one night he'd managed to track down their grave site and had it cleaned and filled with Flowers. King Cedric hugged me tightly after giving his condolences and so did everyone else. Later that night when Rye left to talk to his father I opened the envelope and read her note. “ Sol, my sunshine. I never thought I would have seen you again. I actually thought you and your sister died along with your parents and we just couldn't find your bodies. But then I found out you were getting married to the Prince of the moon. A part of me was pissed because they don't deserve happiness, they don't deserve your warm and kind Sol. But a bigger part of me was happy for you because you deserve to live, out of all of us you deserve to live happily. It was never my intention to kill you or hurt you with my words, it was my intention to get myself killed because living a life without anyone by your side isn't a life worth living. I love you Sol, I hope you find peace and the love you've always wanted. With love, Emily Thorn.” I held the paper to my chest and laid in bed crying myself to sleep. Emily, lewis, uncle thorn, aunt Thorn, my parents have all left this world and left me and my sister behind. I'll do whatever I have too, to keep her safe and alive.
