Ch. 1
I was abruptly awakened by my alarm clock blaring in my ears.
"Jasmine! You have to get up for school, sweetheart." My mother's voice was muffled from beyond my bedroom door. I groaned lightly, not wanting to get up for the day. I got out of bed reluctantly and trudged over to my bathroom. I quickly showered, not really wanting to wake up completely. The hot water soothed me awake, and I walked over to my dresser with a relaxed smile on my face.
Training had gone over last night, and I had a job tonight, so I wasn't going to be happy at all. Being the head assassin was no easy feat, especially in a pack of only 300 people. I took out my favorite black, high-waisted, skinny jeans, the ones that hugged my thighs and made my skin glow. I loved them dearly and knew I needed them to get through this day. I took out a black graphic tee that read, "f**k 'em all."
I also loved that tee dearly, so I was surrounded by clothing I loved for the day. It made me happy, but I didn't let myself smile. I had learned not to show any sort of emotion in the hell house that is my high school. I quickly put on my normal black combat boots and my usual black leather jacket. I brushed my dark brown hair to lay in waves down my back and put in my contacts, letting my emerald eyes shine through. I matched my mother with most of my style and my eyes, except for my hair, which came from my father. People always said I looked like I was split down the middle from both of my parents. I had my fathers smooth, tan skin, dark brown hair and my mother's fiery emerald eyes, making me stand out from the crowds.
I was also tall, at 5'10, but I made sure nobody ever dared to breathe a word of it. I was curvy for my height, with wide hips and an even bigger bust. I was proud of my body though, toned from years of almost daily exercise. It was why I loved black so much, it fit my body shape so well.
I grabbed my bag and rushed down the stairs, grabbing a slice of toast and kissing my parents on the cheek before grabbing my keys and running to my car. The Alpha provided me with my very own black Cadillac Elmiraj. It was a beautiful car, with light leather seats accented with dark brown paneling. The windows were tinted and didn't allow for a view inside the car. I loved it, it was my baby and anybody who came near it was going to die. I got in and revved the engine to life, loving the purr. I revved my way to school, scoring an empty parking space in the front that wasn't usually open. It was next to the spot reserved for the Alpha's son, but I didn't mind it that much. The alpha's son and I had a mutual agreement to never acknowledge each other unless necessary.
I got out the car and leaned against the door, eating my toast and gathering my thoughts before going inside the school. I hoped today was a normal day, I didn't need any more stress with a job due tonight. I came back to the present to a manicured hand waving in front of my face. I blinked and looked at the owner of the hand to find it was the school's head slut, Ashley Romano. I sighed inwardly, looks like my day wasn't going to be easy after all.
"Yeah, you. You're in my spot and you need to move." Her high, nasally voice grated against my ears. My wolf, Kai, whined in my head, wanting her voice to go away. I agreed with her and simply raised an eyebrow at Ashley. I normally don't speak unless I need to, and I didn't need to talk to her. I continued to munch on my toast, staring right at her. Her hot pink Ferrari was shining brightly in the sun, almost blinding me when I glanced at it.
My attention was brought back to Ashley as she started snapping her fingers in my face. My wolf became irritated, but I did nothing about it.
"Everyone knows that the spot next to the Alpha is reserved for his mate and that is obviously going to be me! I suggest you move before something bad happens to you." Her voice had become whiny, snippy. I raise my eyebrow once more and blink. I finish my toast and point to her car.
"You're parked in the Alpha's spot." I get up, grab my bag and walk into the school building, not bothering to look behind me. I can hear her sputtering and gasping like she just came up for air. I smirk to myself, walking over to my locker. I open it and get my books out for the day, having spent most of my morning eating my toast and chewing on my bread. I know that people won't start arriving for another 10 mins or so. I usually arrive before even the teachers, and I suspect Ashley leaves her car here overnight to keep that spot for the morning. I'm pretty sure she goes home with the Alpha anyways. I put my things onto my normal seat and start wandering the hallways, enjoying the silence of the halls.
