The Deal
It was ten minutes to two.
Cold, coldest day of the year. Sam was out by the post, the light providing no warmth; even its reach was short. his breath was visible with every exhale. hands shoved his pockets, foot tapping impatiently on the ground. "where the hell is he?"
The sun was just about fizzled out, the sky slowly turning a smooth dark blue, the clouds mimicking a lighter world.
He checked his watch briefly before shoving his hand back in his pocket. A car pulls up across the street, sleek and black, only noticeable by the reflecting neon club lights.
"finally" Sam murmured to himself before briefly checking both sides of the street and speed walking by.
When he gets to the window he sees the dark black tint, making seeing inwards impossible.
Sam taps on the window.
"hey where's the stuff" he says while bending down, head resting on his arm above the window.
The window slides down slowly with a hum, revealing a tanned man, he has a scruffy beard, sleek black hair and cold piercing eyes. His tattoo was slightly visible from the collar of his crisp suit.
"Sam?" He says, which sounded more like a statement than a question.
"That's me, now where is it?" Sam replied, slightly losing his cool from waiting in the cold so long.
The man's eyes narrowed slightly, but he reached into his glove compartment and pulled out a baggie with a powdery substance inside, holding it just out of reach of Sam.
"Money first" he said in a voice that demanded respect.
Sam straightened his back and pulled a hundred out his back pocket, holding it to the window expectantly with his other hand outstretched for the baggie.
The man glanced up at Sam for a moment before completing the traidover, giving a small smirk before looking back towards the road, rolling back up the window and sped off.
Feeling accomplished, Sam put the bag in his pocket and started walking in the opposite direction as if nothing had happened.
