Tonya woke again and checked the opening first thing. The pup was standing there dead still. She thought a second while drawing the pistol, and watching the pup.
When the pup laid back down, she put the pistol back into its holster and placed the coffee over some coals. Then she added some smaller pieces of wood to the fire and started heating up supper.
Without even looking she said, "Your supper is almost ready."
"How did you know it was me?"
"The pup told me."
"You"ve learned well."
"What"s going on out there?"
"I left two standing, I"ll finish it tomorrow. How about yourself? I heard you shoot."
"I had to kill one of them, I had no choice."
"I believe you, are you alright?"
He asked this as he walked over and put his arms around her from behind.
