"Where are Eric and Ephraim?" Narlic asked. He put down an armful of food dishes carefully on the banquet table next to the others he’d brought before, and wiped a hand over his brow.
Their mom, Evelynne, laughed. "I'm sure they'll be here soon."
"Sure, just in time to eat everything," he groused.
She gave him a kiss on the cheek and smiled. "Thank you for all your help bringing the food down here. I couldn't have managed it without you. All my other children are too busy with their new babies and children this year. Young families …" She sighed contentedly.
