The story of joy

joy was born on the year 2000 on June 23rd she is the second daughter of Mr Collins not so wealthy but her life and that of her parents were okay.. on the day she was born the news spread around the town everyone was happy and they said oh mr Collins has blessed with a beautiful baby girl because she was beautiful with skin like milk eyes like white fire she comes from a Small Town in Lagos called surulere...she was the talk of the town until she grew up in an hash world. joy come here the mother said I told you to do the dishes before leaving house but I heard you can sitting down looking at yourself. when my mother said that I was confused then I told her mommy I have not been looking at myself I thought the dishes like you're instructed and after I finish that's when I went to sleep I don't know who I told you this or what they have in mind but I know I finished everything it was when others came back from school those were plates used by them and they did not wash it then her mother said how many are they remind me then I told my mom we are 9 in numbers, then my mom said before I close my eye you will go to the kitchen and do the dishes I wasn't happy but I know I wasn't close with my mom and my mom and my elder sister don't like the praises I get in my mom don't like the fact that I am the apple of my dad's eyes. when my dad came back from work he said joy I got you something and my mom from the kitchen said it is only her you always get something for when you're coming back from work don't you have other children in the house.. don't you even have a wife in the house how come it's only your daughter you're always getting something for then my dad smile and turned to me and said don't mind your mommy she's always jealous and then he said I called her because she's the first person to come and greet me that doesn't mean I didn't get things for others. later in the evening after we finish eating and doing everything I went to bed cause the next day was school. at school everyone like hey joy good morning and I said good morning to you all guys cuz I was brilliant and beautiful then after our normal school work I was told my teacher was calling me when I go there it was Mr Frank chemistry teacher I was like good morning sir I heard you were calling me hope all is well he said joy I've been meaning to say something to you and that is I like you a lot and I told him Sir you're supposed to be my teacher but you also asking me out don't you know if my Dad here about this you'll be in big trouble and if and if I tell the principle of the school about it your work here is finished cause there is nothing as a student teacher relationship it is highly prohibited in my school. then I told you I know your new here but don't try this again I said sir if you're done I would like to go back to my class. little did I know that it won't end there that was where the world began he started beating me up flogging me for every little thing I do even when I get the answer correctly he still fails my test and I went back to him and I told him Sir is it because of what I told you that is making you act this way with due respect sir I think at this point I need to talk to my dad about your attitude towards me cuz it's bad that evening when I go to home I told my dad about it and the next day he came to school and he gave me to Frank the warning of his life and told him to stop hurting his daughter. and after that went back to work and everything was okay till tragedy stroke it was the cold morning on February 14 2010 when mom received a call and started shouting and crying and then I ran to meet her I said mommy good morning ma what's wrong what happened then she said in a cold and sad voice your dad has been arrested they accused him of stealing and I know my husband he would never steal anything from anybody I think he was set up I was shaking and then I started crying then I asked mom will I see my dad again and she said yes my dear you will that I'll go and freshen up and go out to find out what happened at his place of work then i smiled okay mommy then she said go and wake up your elder ones and you're younger ones tell them to get ready for school I nodded then left her room and 1 hour later she left the house we got ready for school and then we left the house too when I go to school the news was everywhere they were all looking at me I lost my peace they will point in their fingers and laughing at me and my brother with a teary eye I told my friend I was laughing this could happen to anyone and I know my dad has been framed for what he didn't do my dad can be everything but not a thief cuz he has never stolen anything in his life. the problems with too much my mom had to change school for us we couldn't move freely in the community so we had to change location but my dad was still in prison my mom's spent every penny she has yet nothing to show for it because of the incident I became a shy person I don't go out anymore the smile wasn't there in the happy me was gone I was always indoor I don't talk to friends at school my mom noticed and called my attention to me she said joy I know you're close with your dad but I want you to know that I will always be here with you no matter what that your dad will come back one day even if not today but he will come back soon. after the conversation with my mom I tried to brighten up a little I got my smile back but it wasn't as before anymore because each time and people say me very happy the intense to spoil it with is that all the thief's daughter please keep your things oh then I make Juliet she was a good girl and a very good friend she gave me Sanders bought things for me because at a time my mom couldn't buy things anymore life became so tough the most night will slept hungry and it's continued because we have no help but elder sister grow up and left the house without looking back by elder brother also left and come home just once in a while it was sad to see that a happy family had not become one that doesn't talk or Merry with each other. I was all alone with my mom and sad because I can see the pain she was going through and I couldn't help her I started eating cassava and anything we can find because most times we sleep hungry without the hope of what to eat the next day.
