Chapter Twenty-one

Breckett Louie Cowell

I never knew that having her as mine will bring another rainbow to my life. I know it sounds gay but that's how I describe my life now as I watch her on her sexy reading glass. How come I didn't pursue this feeling earlier?

She was just right there and I look like a predator eyeing his prey. She looks dashingly beautiful even though she's piled with those thick medical books. She was smart, kind, and adorable, any man could fall in her charms. I am a really lucky guy that above all her choices, she still chose me.

"I'll get us lunch. What do you want to eat, my queen?" Yeah. She's really my queen and I'm his faithful Knight.

"Anything would do. As long as it is edible." I chuckle when I saw her face contorted. She's always like that when she's serious about something. She hates being disturbed even if it's me.

Ouch.

I tap myself and encourage it to understand her more. She loves Sailey and I adore that young lady too. She was important to us not just because she was our first case but because Sailey was like a family to us and we'll do our very best to cure that illness of her.

I made my way towards the door when suddenly someone knocks on it. I slowly opened it and there I saw the head nurse, Mrs. Gatchengco.

"This package was addressed to you, Doctor Raven. Please sign here." I receive the package and quite nod for respect to her. I closed the door and open the pack.

"What the---" my mind was in black as soon as I saw what's written on it. It's Sailey's past medical records.

"What's that Doctor Breckett?" She asked and before I could try to hide it from her, she immediately snatches it out of my hold. Sh*t

I saw how she read it and she gasped in horror. She held her sobs in her palms as she continues to read the following pages. I saw some pictures drop on the floor and when I saw it all I could feel was rage.

How did someone could do this to her? She was fragile and weak but she experiences this kind of inhumane? Fvck!

I heard my queen sobs louder and almost collapsed from her stand. I ran towards her and capture her arms before she lost her consciousness. Damn it!

I held her hand to give her courage even though I was nervous as hell. We reach into her room and we found her lying in her bed, reading one of her brail books.

"Sailey.." Marian called out and she immediately knew it was us. She's smart and her senses were quite unbelievable. She can easily distinguish someone just because of their fragrance.

I held her waists to move forward towards the bed. Sailey immediately hugs her Ate Marian and I know my queen was trying to hold back her tears. She wants to take everything slowly. We want to know how and when did it happen to her.

I wanna know the whole story and if God would let me. I'll end that fvckers life.

"I want you to be honest with me Sailey. We're your doctors and also your guardians so we need you to trust us. Marian and I found out your past medical records in the Philippines.." I gulped to contain my rage.

"...and we want you to tell us how you got those. You are diagnosed in a half in year coma after your operation. The doctors in your country successfully pulled out the bullets on your ribcage and stomach. You also had multiple bruises and cuts. And after you wake up from that coma, you suffer from a mental trauma.." I paused. Two of the most lovable woman in my life are now crying in front of me. Marian keeps on hugging her as she keeps her pace cool down but I know my queen was really trying her best not to breakdown.

"Tahan na Sailey. Naiiyak na din tuloy ako. A-ayos lang naman sa amin na naglihim ka pero siguro naman ay sapat na ang pinagsamahan natin para maikwento mo sa amin ang nangyari sa'yo sa nakaraan. M-makakatulong kasi iyon ng malaki para mapagaling ka namin." My queen said in hoarse. I took a bottle of water out of the fridge and gave it to her. Good thing it is not yet that cold because I don't want my queen to suffer from tonsillitis after.

After my queen took some gulp she handed it to Sailey for her to drink too. They look like siblings. Cute.

We both look at Sailey when she decided to tell her story. She was still crying but she tried to contain it so She could talk to us. I really admire this brave young lady. She looks at us like she can see us with those closed eyes. She narrated her story

She cleared her horse throat.

"It was three years ago when my boyfriend and I got an accident. We were arguing inside the car that's why when a truck suddenly showed in front of us, it was too late for us to change lanes. I got several bruises, cuts, and a broken right arm but none of it can compare to what happens to my man. He suffers from a brain hemorrhage and he was in a coma. He might also lose his sight that time if he can't be operated on immediately. So I volunteered and let my man have my iris." I saw her tears stream down on her face. It was hard for her like she's reliving her own nightmare.

I can't see her like this. Call me a coward but I just can't. Every time I saw her tears runs down her cheeks my heart aches, slashing into tiny bits. I glance at my queen and I know my queen knows how difficult it was for me. She gestures me to breathe outside so I mouthed her a thank you.

She let Sailey continue her story and Marian will be the one whom I could ask for it. I open the door only to be surprised who was there eavesdropping. His eyes were dark and his fists are tightly closed.

I was about to gesture him to come in but he declined my offer.

"Just let the door open. " he seriously said. I sigh.

"Okay. But please remain calm for her." I said before I take my leave.

I knew that  Raven has hots for our little Sailey since the beginning. I never interrupt his actions 'cause I know he was serious about her but just like me, he was still contemplating.

Coward right? That's a man's nature whenever we found our one true love.
