Chapter 16Over the next several months, Tom and Paul learned more about the ancient Middle East than they had ever expected to know. They developed the ability to understand conversational Aramaic, Latin and even a little Hebrew. However, they spent very little time speaking. The limited speaking they did was primarily not much more than single word answers to common questions.
Both of them and Catherine spent many hours learning some general hand to hand combat skills. While their abilities were increasing the progress was slow since Paul insisted that they do all training with a seventy-pound pack on their backs.
