Chapter 6 – New Lover

Unable to tell him yes, that I wanted him. Even though my body was screaming out for him, I could not get out my words. Doing the only thing I could I closed my eyes. Shoving my guilt aside, I leant slightly forward. My heart skipping a beat, my lips met his. Hands gripping my sides tightly Heath deepened the kiss aggressively as a wall appeared to fall between us, his tongue entering my mouth. Pulling my body hard against his own, I could not help but moan out as his hardening c**k pressed against my abdomen as he grinded against me.

Passion suddenly roaring between us, I found my hand weaving into his hair as my other slid behind his neck pulling him closer. Lifting me to his waist, heat ran through my body as I felt him nibble at my lips. My head forced back, his kiss move to my chin and down my neck. Just has he hit my collar bone I whimpered out beneath his touch craving more. A ding suddenly sounding from his phone, we both froze as it vibrated, jittering across the counter.

Heath gently placed me on the floor as another sound came from his phone, the doorbell ringing in the same instant. With a frustrated sound and a whisper, Heath raised his hands into his hair running his hands through it before leaning down to my ear. “Stay here, I will be right back.” With a light kiss to my neck, my heart leap in my chest as I watched him walk around the corner towards the door, his bare footsteps lightly thudding against the floor.

My heart in a flurry, I smoothed out my clothing keeping my eyes down as I wandered back to the fridge opening the door. My hand trembling, I stood exceedingly close to the fridge allowing the coolness to infiltrate my body. I needed to calm down, I need to think about this, think about what I was doing. Hearing the front door open I felt sick to my stomach, was mum home? Hearing muffled male voices, I heard footsteps sound back down the hallway. Closing the fridge, I turned, leaning my back against the door facing the entrance.

“Alice, your friend?” Heath’s voice took a questioning tone as his eyebrow raised. “He said you were expecting him?” My eye widening, I shook my head in disbelief. My heart resuming back to erratic pace I flickered my gaze between the two men. Eric stood before me with an air of confidence taking a step forward toward me. Trying to moved further away I moved back only to jostle the fridge, my hands fanning out against the cool metal door.

Watching Eric’s jaw slightly clench, “boyfriend” he corrected Heath while keeping his eyes on me. An apologetic line forming across his lips, he turned to Heath. “Umm, could you give us a minute mate. We have some stuff to work through together.” Heath’s eyes never leaving me, his face turned to that or irritation as made no effort to move. The two had never met, in fact Eric had never even heard of Heath. With my mother around, I never brought males or boyfriends home, that was just asking for a disaster. Clearly these two had also already taken a disliking to each other as the air in the room appeared to thicken.

Trying to keep a steady tone, “Ex-boyfriend.” I again corrected him before continuing, “you need to leave Eric, you are not welcome here.” Turning my eyes from both men, I watched my bedroom door. Considering if I should just make a ran for it and lock everyone out, I tried to stay strong emotionally and keep it together. How could Heath actually let him in the house? Did he think I was lying when I said he cheated on me? Was Heath testing me?

Glancing over his should with growing annoyance, “I said I was sorry Alice, what else do you want from me? She came onto me, you know what she is like.” Eric’s voice was forceful, I felt like he thought he could make this all go away. That I would fall to pieces without him, but the truth was, I never really like him in the first place. He was a substitute, a substitute and distraction from the man standing with arms crossed behind him watching our interaction, his muscles tightening across his chest.

Taking another step toward me I felt a sense of panic as Eric grew closer, to close. Almost in a screech my voice sounded, “Stop! Do not come any closer. I thought I made myself clear, this is over. I am done, we are done.” Trying to emphasize my point, I moved sidewards so I could move around the island bench away from him, trying to keep a distance. Ignoring my words, he appeared to try and follow after me. Facing him, I continued to back up until I met a wall, a hard surface where one should not be. Throwing a glace over my shoulder warmth enveloped me as Heaths hands ran down my shoulders crisscrossing my chest pulling me to his body.

Rage flickering in Eric’s eyes, “you f*****g slut! You already found someone to shack up with. Or have you been sleeping around the whole time!” Heath stiffening behind me, I trembled harder as his hands continued to hold me steady. Protecting and shielding me from Erica who had stopped dead in his tracks. “You would never even let me come here, is this why?”

“I believe Alice asked you to leave.” Heath’s feral tone was deep echoing through the house. With hands shaking, and his nose twitching Eric retraced his steps back to the front door slamming it so hard behind him the glass through the house rattled in response.

With an air of humour in his voice, Heath tightened his hold on me. “I don’t like him, I think you need to find a new lover.” Unable to respond, I felt my back hit a wall as I was spun around in an instant. Heath’s gaze penetrating into my own, I felt my lips quiver as I wanted to point out so badly that he was taken, that he was not available.
