It was sunset by the time I was able to pull yield together. Nikolai had brought me back to bed earlier, and I just kay there now, my eyes hurting a bit too much to cry. Nikolai wasn't behind me, but I k ew that was because he wanted to take a bath and was in the bathroom. As if on cue, I heard the sound of the door. I slowly turned, and Nikolai walked up to me, his smile small as he leaned to kiss my cheek. "I ran the bath for both of us, sweetheart." I sighed, immediately leaning into him as he kissed my neck. "Thank you," I managed to mutter, and he smiled. "Please just don't cry anymore. I hate seeing your tears. I hate seeing you hurt."
