CHAPTER THIRTY
“How could you? How could you?” came up the cry of the Penguins who formed a circle around Casper and Malcolm.
“We haven’t done anything! What do you think we have done?” pleaded Malcolm.
Eventually, a very old-looking Penguin waded forward from the circle and looked at Malcolm and Casper.
“Stop! These aren’t the same Magpies!” she cried.
“Who are you? The last time we dealt with Magpies they deceived and abandoned us,” said the Penguin.
“I am Malcolm and this is my brother Casper.”
“I am Queen Agatha of the Penguins, of the House Barus,” said the Penguin.
“Who were the Magpies that deceived you?” asked Casper.
“They were called Jonas and Pamela,” said Queen Agatha.
“Oh,” said Casper.
“Oh?” asked Queen Agatha.
“They were our aunt and uncle,” said Malcolm.
