CHAPTER FORTY-FOUR
As the party went through the portal, they found themselves in a very long tunnel with a large ornate iron door at the far end, that looked magical in origin. The portal that had been open behind them disappeared and Madeleine went forward and opened the door. Outside she could see that it was night time.
Kolan who was right behind her, suddenly shouted “stop!” as Madeleine walked out through the door.
“What?” cried Madeleine, not fully leaving the doorway.
“This is what I saw, when I saw us being attacked by Pigeons,” said Kolan.
“Oh,” said Madeleine, stepping back a bit.
Just at that moment she heard a great whooshing noise and she barely avoided a Pigeon’s beak being thrust at her from outside. She slammed the door shut.
