Chapter 16: Business as usual?

*** Genevieve POV ***   In the weeks that followed it had been quite eventful. Jolene and I were constantly running around trying to get the first steps in the Bradshaw wedding set up, while taking on all new clientele, and existing customers. It felt like things were picking up at the event planning business, but that could be that now Jojo can teleport we’ve been able to schedule even more appointments since we can just pop up to whatever location whenever we needed to.                 “Jojo, have you spoken with Jessica over at stationary? We need to get the save the date options ready for the Bradshaw wedding.” I look over and ask.                 “Yes, but I came up with a few different options since we haven’t decided a season for the wedding. So, I’m not sure if they want to have the wedding and engagement party the same theme or different.” She said without looking up from her computer. Even though we both became owners with the amount of existing and new clientele business it was a lot for both of us to handle.                 “Hey, I think that we should consider getting an assistant, one that would be both of ours.”                 She stopped what she was doing to think, “Having one for both of us would be good idea. Since you became an owner we’ve been able to split the work, but there’s still things that are too important to risk forgetting about just because we’re too busy. I’ll post an ad online and around other businesses to see if someone is interested.”                 “Great!” I push the conversation aside and get back to work. I’m currently setting up an engagement shoot. I call the photographer to come to the shop so we can look at different packages for the bride and groom. They’ve decided to go with an old timey feel, but they both love to cook.                 “Hey! Rebecca thank you for coming!” The photographer comes in with a very large photo album and drops it on the table.                 “Of course! Thank you for calling me in for this. I love doing engagement shoots that are trying be a little more historical and vintage.”                 “Awesome! Well let’s go in the conference room. We’ve set up a board with some of the things the bride and groom have liked so far.” We pick up our notebooks and get settled in the other room.                 “Ok, so the bride is planning to go full vintage for her engagement shoot. She wants her wedding to be a mixture of vintage and modern. Where would you think are some best locations?” Jojo asks her.                 “I think that downtown Fort Worth would be a great location. It has the cobblestone streets, the right streetlamps, all different things that look older. I have some pictures of the area and then I have some picture of other engagement sessions that I’ve completed similar to this.” She proceeded to pull out some pictures and show us the different options.                 “These are great, and I think the happy couple will love this!” I explain.                 “Ok, and what’s are color scheme? I like to try to incorporate something going to be used in the wedding so in the end it’ll all tie together.”                 “That’s wonderful! Her colors are powder blue and yellow.” I explain while pointing at the board. On it has the color scheme, possible locations, many different ideas like cake, place settings, decorations and more. We went over different options with the Rebecca before she left. I decided that now would be a good time to call Scar and see how my other business is doing.                 “Hey Gen!” Scar answers.                 “Hey! I just wanted to call in and check to see how everything is going?” I ask her.                 “It’s going good! I called the cleaners today and they came and took everything out and did a deep clean so since today is a Monday and we’re closed I figured that it would be a good time to do this.” That made sense considering the building would need to air out with some of the different chemical smells used.                 “Ok, I was curious if you wanted to look at remodeling? I like the look it has how, but it’s not ours and I want to put out stamp on it.” I ask her, it was something that I had been considering for a while, but I didn’t know how she would feel about it.                 “OMG! I would love to! I’ve been wanting to remodel since I first started working here. Since I wasn’t an owner then I couldn’t do anything. Now that I can I absolutely want to! We should reach out to an interior designer. Also, I think that we should look into hiring a manager for when we’re both too busy with pack work or have other obligations.” She states.                 “Yes, I think that would be a great idea! I’ll set up interviews for that.” I inform her. “But let me get back to work and I’ll talk to you more about everything later.”                 “Ok, see you at home.” We disconnect the call and I get back to work.  I feel great knowing that I’ve been able to handle both jobs. I was a worried at first that I couldn’t handle two partnerships and being pack Luna, but with all the help and support I’ve been able to do just fine.                 I reach out to a few venues for a small intimate party for a fiftieth birthday. Since this couple decided that they wanted to be able to eat as well, but didn’t want to be inside a restaurant I looked up options for a garden party. With confirmation from my point person within the family I go ahead and set up a time for all of us to go and see it. Then later on in the day we teleport to the site and see how open it is. A plus is that there’s a big oak tree right where we want to set up. This will allow for shade since the sun will still be up and it will be easier to hang decorations with this way.                 The point person couldn’t come so we facetimed her and got approval to move forward with reserving that location. I turn to Eddie and Harry to let them know we’re ready to teleport back. Eddie looks on edge.                 “Eddie, are you ok?” I ask concerned.                 “I’m not sure. I’m getting this feeling that’s making me on edge, but I’m not sure what the feeling is. I’m sure it’s nothing though.”                 I shrug it off and we head back to the office. We finish up what we’re doing for the day. When we get there something smells off. I’ve never smelled this before so I’m not sure what it is.                 “I’m gonna have an inspector come tomorrow if this smell is still here. I’m not sure what this is, but it’s definitely different.” I tell Jojo who nods her agreement. My phone rings and I see that it’s Scar.                 “Hey! Is everything ok?” I ask her since we talked earlier so I know whatever it is that she wants to talk to me about it just happened.                 “Ya, everything is fine. But you just received some flowers here.”                 “Flowers? For what? Jack knows that I’m not at the bar today.”                 “I’m not sure. There’s a card and all it says is ‘Congratulations on your new job Genevieve, I hear beer goes really well with barbecue. I hope you like it too, my queen.’ My queen? Who says stuff like that?” She asks confused.                 “Something about the sentence is throwing me off. My queen? No one calls me that, no except… GET OUT!!! SCAR GET OUT NOW!!!!” I turn to Jojo, “Teleport us to the bar, NOW!”                 As soon as we get materialize, we’re across the street. I see Beast running toward the front Entrance with Scar over his shoulder. I run towards them and am about to step in front of the building when a blast knocks me back. I sit up and see both Scar and Beast next to me with some cuts and burns marks. I remember then that I have healing abilities, I’m not even sure how to use them.                 Touch them. We must absorb their injuries in order to heal them.                 I do what Amira says and place my hands, first, on Scar’s shoulders. I soon start to feel myself being cut and burned, but as soon as they appear on my skin they disappear too. I can slowly see Scar starting to heal. Once she’s fully healed, she wakes up and looks around. I turn to Beast and repeat the process. I fall back exhausted and do what I’ve been avoiding, I look over at the bar.                 “Well I guess we decided on a good time to remodel.” Scar mentions, I give a small laugh that fades away. There’s a fire in the bar. I think to myself that I wish rain would come down and put out the fire.                 Drop, Drop.                 I wipe my face as a water droplets hits my cheek. I look up and see clouds forming, which is weird since it was a sunny day today.                 Control it.                 Control what?                 The weather. Selene gave us Atmokinesis, that means that we are able to control the weather. So, control the rain and put the fire out.                 I close my eyes. I’m not sure how to do this, but I decide that I need to visualize. I imagine a mini-whirlwind of water coming down and high winds causing the rain to be blow into the building. When I open my eyes I see my visualization come to life.                 “This is so cool and crazy at the same time.” Harry says. I turn to Beast.                 “What happened before the bomb went off?”                 “The package was delivered, it felt heavier than a normal gift of flowers and smelled off. But I’ve never really bought flowers for someone so I brushed it off.”                 “Smelled weird? What do you mean?” Jojo asked.                 “I mean that it was almost a sulfuric smell.”                 “Oh my goddess! That was the smell at the business!!” Jojo grabs my arms and says to me.                 I turn to Scar. “Call Jack and the guys, tell them what happened. Send Josh here and then Jack and Sebastian to us! Let’s go Jojo.” We teleport back to the business and I start scrambling. “Spread out! We need to see if we can find the smell.”                 I start rushing, while I’m going through my office I’m picking up anything important, of value, or if I don’t have duplicates on the cloud. I bring my stuff outside since I have no more room and am about to go back in when huge arms encase me from moving.                 “Don’t you dare think about goin’ back in, Darlin’. No way in hell are you goin’ in somewhere that could hurt you.” Jack growled from behind me. I should’ve known he’d get here in record time.                 “But I need to. I need to get the rest of my stuff for the business!” I protested.                 “Absolutely not! We can put this stuff in your car, which I’m not sure why you even drive anymore with Jojo around.”                 “I had errands to run before I came work this morning.”                 “Ok, hey Eddie! Come help put this stuff in while I go and get the rest of the items that she might need.” Eddie comes and grabs my keys from me. I see Jojo being carried out by Sebastian with her arms full of stuff. It seems like she had the same idea I did. We smirk at each other.                 I hear Eddie unlock my and BAM!                 I turn to see Eddie lying on his back not moving at all. I don’t know when but at some point, I started screaming. I tried to run toward him, but I once again found myself in Jack’s arms. I see Harry holding Jojo back as Sebastian runs towards him. I’m struggling in Jack’s arms, so he takes pity on me and brings me closer. What I see makes me want to puke.                 He has a big cut on his throat and lots of burns all over. The smell is ungodly.                 Sebastian looks at me, “I’m going to need your help, Gen. My wolf Hades says that we can bring him back, but I need your healing abilities.” I nod my head.                 Jojo grabs my arm as I’m walking forward. “Gen, I saw what happened with Beast and Scar. You had to take it within yourself. There’s no way that you can take on the amount of healing Eddie would need in order to come back.”                 “I’ll help. I have power replication. So, with both of us doin’ your healin’ then there should be an equal amount of injuries goin’ to both of us. I’m sure it’ll still hurt, but not as bad as one of us takin’ it on alone.” I nod my head and adjust myself to sit beside Eddie’s body. I start to cry seeing him like this. I know we’re about to bring him back, but still knowing how gruesome this can be makes me want to kill whoever is causing this. I close my eyes and place my hands on Eddie’s chest, Jack does the same while Sebastian grabs the sides of his head. I slowly feel the damages on my body and bite my cheek from crying out. This is must worse than what it was for Scar. I’m suddenly grateful for Jack being able to take this on with me, because I don’t think I could’ve handled it alone. I open my eyes to see Jack’s face contorted in pain, and Sebastian’s eyes are completely black, even the whites are black.                 It felt like hours, but was probably only a few minutes we felt and heard the first intake of breath from Eddie. All of his injuries were gone on the outside and the inside.                 “Slow, man. Take it slow sitting up.” Jack helps Eddie to his feet I still felt the heat from the car fire behind me so I repeated the raining process that I did with the building to the car to stop the fire. Then I turn around and wrap my arms around Eddies’ torso.                 “I’m so sorry!” I cried. “I can’t believe that this is happening. I can’t believe that you were hurt. Please forgive me, I feel like this is all my fault.” He wraps his arms around my shoulders.                 “It’s ok, Gen. I won’t say I’m not freaked out because I am, but I’m just happy to be alive. Thank you guys for bringing me back.”                 “Jojo why don’t you take him and Sebastian back to the pack hospital. Thank the goddess no humans were around to see. I guess that if anythin’ it’s good that it happened on a Monday afternoon when everyone is at work. Harry you drive us home. We’ll meet you there. And Eddie, don’t you ever die on us again. I won’t allow it.” Eddies laughs as Jojo nods her head and grabs both guys then disappears.                 After the police arrived and took our statements, we scheduled for a tow company to take the vehicle then we started back.                 Jack and I were so tired from using our powers that we decided to take a nap on the way back home.
