*** Genevieve POV ***
I never knew that I needed this, to feel the wind on my fur. It’s still a crazy thought, my fur. But
the rush that I felt being able to run along the valley was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. I
can’t wait to do this for the rest of my life.
Darlin’, can you hear me?
Oh my! I can! How is that possible?
It’s called mindlinkin’ sweetheart. We can do that with each other now, and after tonight Zeus
and Amira are able to communicate separately too.
Thank goodness! I wouldn’t want to continue to have her conversations for her.
Ha! Same. We’ve done the pack run now, and we’re dispersing. Come, follow me.
Zeus veered off to the right and we went in between two mountains where a much smaller
valley was located. It was quiet and secluded here. It was dark, but the moon was bright enough for us
to be able to see the area.
Zeus and Amira chased each other around and I decided to put a block up to allow her time with
her mate. Even though the block was up I could still feel when they became one and marked each other.
The amount of love and adoration that Amira felt towards Zeus was one of the most welcoming feelings
and I couldn’t wait to have that with Jack.
Genevieve, come with Zeus and me down this second pathway.
Amira followed Zeus towards a parcel where we both transformed back to our human forms. I
looked around me in awe. I saw little battery-operated tea lights, a blanket on the ground, some fruits
and champagne.
“I know I haven’t really been able to take you out on an official first date, which will be soon by
the way. However, I wanted tonight to be special for us. So, I made sure to come set this up before the
ceremony tonight in order to get some alone time with you even more alone than in the packhouse.”
Our mate is amazing.
I couldn’t agree more.
I was awe struck that I let myself be led to the blanket. I laid down and allowed myself to be fed
the fruits and champagne. I had a nice buzz going on which I was surprised on since I heard Josh talking
about how werewolves known for having a high tolerance for alcohol.
“How am I able to get tipsy on this?” I ask.
“It’s call werewine. Since we have such a high tolerance we make sure to put a high alcohol
content to get drunk off of them if we want.” He explained.
I laid back fully on the blanket and stare up at the stars. Jack lays down beside me and we just
enjoy each other’s company for moment, listening to the sounds of the night.
“Jack, this view is incredible. Thank you for bringing me.” I turn to him and kiss him. It starts off
simple and sweet, that turned deeper.
Jack rolled on top of me and kissed my neck and ears, making me slowly become wetter and
wetter. He slipped into me and made slow, sweet love to me. I loved feeling him inside me, molding
around him. My org*sm came out of nowhere, as I was coming down Jack slipped his hand between us
and started rubbing my cl*t causing me rise once again. As I was tightening around him once more, I felt
him remove his fingers from my lower lips and place them near my head as he thrusts harder and faster.
I was about to climb over the last hurtle when I felt Jack turn my head to the side and sink his teeth into
my marking spot.
I immediately came harder than I ever have before, I screamed so loud then marked him back.
As I was holding on to him, I felt the wind around me swirling us as if we were in a mini tornado.
After a few minutes I started to retract my teeth and release jack.
Lick it.
What?
Lick his mark, our saliva will heal it. Trust me.
I trusted in her and did what she said. I watched as the wounds healed on their own. Then I felt
Jack release his hold as well and do the same.
We packed up what was set out and tied it all inside the blanket. Then we let our wolves take
over, grab the blanket and headed home. We were exhausted by the time that we got back that we only
cleaned up and immediately fell asleep for the night. Tonight has been the best night so far.
*** Scarlet POV ***
Waking up in the morning was one of the stranger experiences that I’ve ever had before. As I got
up for morning training and made my way to the grounds and I kept hearing a strange buzzing in my
head. It started off fuzzy and as I kept walking it became clearer and clearer. It almost sounded like a
radio that couldn’t be on the right station. It was starting to give me a headache.
I wasn’t sure what was going on. It was distracting me all throughout training. I got my a*s
handed me to more times than I could count. I wanted desperately for the buzzing to be gone.
I just ran 10 miles and we have an option to do different workouts after running. This time I
chose boxing in hopes that needing to concentrate would help. It didn’t.
I was trying to dodge left and right, back and front and each time I seemed to be met with a fist
or a kick. At this point I couldn’t even tell what was up and what was down. I tried once more to get a hit
in, but I was just too distracted and I felt the fist connect with my chin in an upper cut before blacking
out.
I wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but I woke up in the hospital.
“Oh thank the goddess! You scared me so much Scar. I almost took your boxing partners head
off when I saw him go for that move.” Josh came over to me and stated. He grabbed my face softly and
kissed my lips.
“Don’t blame Harold, he was just boxing as he should. I was the one in the wrong. My head
wasn’t in it today. I’ve had this incessant noise in my head all morning and for the life of me I can’t figure
out what it is.” I was so agitated that I let myself get caught off guard with Harold, I couldn’t’ figure out
why I had this sound, and I still had this D*MN headache!!
“Ok, well lets talk with the nurse about it and see what’s going on.” I nodded my head and
relaxed back in bed, waiting for the nurse to come in and check on me. I tried to get some shut eye until
I could be seen. I was right after training, so I’m sure the nurses were a little busier than normal.
I must have dozed off because when I came to there was ice being placed on my forehead. I
opened my eyes and realized that it was just the nurse’s hands.
“D*mn, woman do you soak those in ice?” I pulled my head back and said to her.
She laughed and apologized. “So it looks like you might have a very small concussion due to the
boxing, some bruising. Besides that what seems to be issue?”
“I just couldn’t seem to focus today. I have a crazy amount of buzzing going on in my head and it
keeps giving me a headache.” I explained.
“Hmmm, well I was at the packhouse yesterday when the Moon Goddess gave you and the
other ranked members her gifts. Do you think that maybe this is a result of said gift?”
“I hadn’t thought about that, it might be. Ok, let me get the doctor and we can see what he
says.” The nurse leaves and soon comes back with Dr. Lawrence.
“Well, now Ms. Lee, it seems that we might think you are experiencing some difficulties with the
new gift is that correct?” The Doctor confirms.
“It could be the case, I’m really not sure.” I state hesitantly.
“Ok, no problem. Let’s test it out and see if this is the problem. I’m going to speak in another
language and let me know if you understand, alright?” He asks, I nod my head. “Great! Mi nombre es
Doctor Samuel Lawrence. (My name is Doctor Samuel Lawrence.)
I could guess what he was saying, but the buzzing intensified in my head. “the buzzing got worse
after you spoke.” I said rubbing my temples.
“It seems, Ms. Lee, that since this is the first time you are using your newly acquired powers that
it takes some practice for you to know listen and understand what is being said. Let’s give it a couple
more tries while we’re here. Are you up for that?” He asked.
“Ya, doc. Let’s try it.” I agree.
“Escucha mi voz y las palabras que estoy hablando. Intenta concentrarte y pronto lo
entenderas.” (Listen to my voice and the words I’m speaking. Try to focus and soon you will
understand.)
“I understood a couple of words, but it sounded very staticky.” I explained hopeful.
“That means that we’re getting somewhere though. Now, I want you to close your eyes and only
listen to the words I‘m speaking.” I nod my head and close my eyes, making sure to pay only attention to
Dr. Lawrence.
“El clima hoy va a ser agradable.” (The weather today is going to be nice.)
“I could understand it all!!” I sat up excited and smiled at Josh, who grabbed my hand and kissed
the back of it.
“Did you hear any buzzing during that last sentence?” I shook my head no. “Good, now I want
you to try to respond back to me in the same language. Ahora dime tu nombre.” (Now tell me your
name)
“Mi nombre es Scarlett Le.” (My name is Scarlett Lee) I responded without hesitation.
“That’s great Gamma! You might need to concentrate the first couple of times your hearing
another language, but after some time you’ll be able to listen and respond as if it’s your first language.
This might be the case for languages that you haven’t heard before the first couple of times hearing
them being spoken.” Dr. Lawrence explained. Josh shook his hand and thanked him. We were able to be
discharged by the nurse and headed back to the packhouse. I again started to feel some buzzing in my
head, but I understood it more, so I tried to concentrate on it. After a while I was able to determine
some conversations before we passed them. Some were just bits and pieces of a spoken language,
others were nonverbal, like a hub between brothers, a kiss between mates. It was a surprise to me to be
able to understand unspoken communication, but I guess it makes sense since some emotions can’t be
put into words.
We get back to the room and I decide to take a small nap. After getting my ass kicked in training
then trying to fight my way through a headache to understand a language took a lot of my energy. I felt
Josh get behind me and we snuggled in together. I drifted off to sleep. Thank the goddess it was a
Monday and that meant the bar was closed so I only had packhouse duties to attend to today, and that
could be put off for just a few hours. I make sure to set an alarm before closing my eyes to rest.
*** Jolene POV ***
“NO! I won’t do it! I don’t care if the bride wants it, I will absolutely not wear a bright yellow
dress. It’s going to make me look washed out. I know it’s her day, but that doesn’t mean that I have to
look like a giant banana.” A disgruntled bridesmaid stood in front of me holding the dress.
This dress looks absolutely terrible.
Yes, it does.
Then make her not wear it. I would rip it to shreds if someone made us wear it.
Because it’s not our day. What the bride wants, the bride gets.
I shut out Roxy before she could distract me anymore. “I understand that the dress might not be
the best fit for you. However, we’ve talked with Macy already and she’s very adamant that she wants
her bridesmaids in this dress.” I state trying to help her realize that there’s no changing this decision.
She stared me down for a moment, hoping that I would change my mind, “FINE! I’ll wear the
stupid dress, but you and her better believe that I will make sure to pull it off in a way that I will look
better than her on her own wedding day!” She stomped out of the store, dress in hand.
Gen and Eddie walk in with salads for lunch. We were able to take a small break and talk about
our expected week before chaos ensued once again.
“Jolene, Gen. I need you both at the banquet hall. We’re here to set up for tonight, but the guy
is saying that he has no knowledge of our reservation to book the hall for tonight and apparently he
double booked us.” Gen and I looked at each. This event was only supposed to be a small gathering, an
older couple wanted to celebrate fifty years together. We figured since it wasn’t much, we could have
our senior planner, Becky, just go and take care of it, but of course something just had to go wrong.
I go to my drawer and find the contract for the hall that we booked specifically for tonight, along
with the payment already made, while Gen went and got Harry. We got both Harry and Eddie their own
offices so they can do any work that they might need to do. We know that they still have positions
within the companies for Jack’s businesses.
We were on our way to leave when we received another call from Becky stating that the second
event planner came in and was causing a scene. We were close to an hour away. I would’ve thought that
given we always give ourselves time that it would’ve been ok, but I didn’t realize that the event planner
would, also, be there. I was starting to freak out and I didn’t know how we were going to do this. The
word would get out that we were an incompetent business and no one would want to work with us
anymore.
Jolene, calm down.
Calm down? Calm down?! How do you expect me to calm down when this could be a serious hit
to our reputation.
Do you yell at me! I’m saying calm down because we have a perfectly good reason to get there
on time.
And what reason would that be?!
We can teleport dummy.
I hadn’t even thought of that, but we can’t teleport all four of us.
Yes, we can. Trust in me. As long as they are touching a part of you they can be teleported
with us.
“Jojo! We have to go. What are you waiting for?” Gen yelled at me and broke me out of my
conversation with Roxy.
“We’re not driving, Gen. Just grab onto me and trust me.” I tell hem.
“Uhh… Are you sure about this Beta?” Henry asked. I could see the uncertainty in his eyes.
“Positive. Now grab on!”
I held my arms out so they could grab on it. I concentrated on the banquet hall, thankfully I’ve
been there before. I started to feel a dizzy sensation before everything went black. It felt like I was
having an out of body experience while still being inside my body. It was the craziest feeling I’ve ever felt
before. Then, I felt solid ground beneath my feet. I saw that we landed on the side of the building and I
released a breath of air once I knew that we hadn’t been seen. I wasn’t sure how we would explain our
way out of that. We walk in and go up to Becky who’s talking with the banquet manager.
“Good Afternoon, I see that we a have a conflict at the moment. We’re here to assist in getting
this resolved.” I state politely.
“Well Ms. Hartford, we must have had a mix-up. I’m not sure how it happened, but the hall was
double booked today.” The nervously looking manager told me.
“That’s ok, accidents happen. Jolene, when does our contract state we requested this space?”
Flipping through the papers I found what I was looking for, “We booked this last July. So over a
year ago.”
“Ok, and ma’am,” She turned to the other event planner, also here for her appointed time.
“What day does your contract state is the date that the hall was requested?”
“It was requested in February.” She answers.
“Ok… February of this year or last year?” I ask her.
“Of this year.”
“Ok, well we understand that mistakes happen. We did request this first, but we understand
how difficult it is to find an available banquet hall last minute. We’re expected to be finished by six
tonight, if you would like to have it for the rest of the night.”
“You’re absolutely right. It is difficult to find one. I will accept that offer.”
The hall manager let out a breath and thankfully we were all able to get back to work to
complete the set up. I couldn’t help, but feel proud of myself. I just fixed a major problem and I
teleported for the first time. I would consider day to be a good day.
