Chapter 14: Gifts

*** Jack POV ***

                I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why I started to tingle when I drank from the chalice. This

has never happened before, even when I became Alpha. I tried to shake it off since this was when the

ladies were getting their titles. I was ecstatic to finally have my Luna beside me officially. I was shocked

to see Selene come down and bless the ranked members and the pack as well. I was confused as to why

we needed to turn Genevieve and Jojo immediately. Then finally, I was terrified when Genevieve

blacked out after being bit.

                I heard Jojo shouting, but I couldn’t focus on that, plus Sebastian was with her. I did take a look

over when I heard her stop though. I looked back at Genevieve and her eyes under the lids were moving

a mile a minute. I’ve never turned anyone or seen anyone be turned before so I didn’t know if this was

normal. I look up to the moon goddess in a panic. Thankfully Dr. Lawrence ran up, since he was in the

crowd with the rest of the pack.

                “Place them on the ground, Alpha and Beta, we need to make sure their airways are clear.” He

says. We adjust our women in our arms while Clarie comes forward with some blankets and lays them

on the ground. I thank her and gently place Genevieve on top, while Sebastian does the same with Jojo

right next to her.

                Dr. Lawrence first takes Gen’s pulse and her eyes with a small light, then does the same to Jojo.

“Well, gentlemen, they’re completely fine, just reacting to the venom in their veins. Normally, a

transition takes about 2-3 days depending on rank of the wolf.”

                “If I may?” Selene steps forward and interjects.

                “Of course.” I bow to her and step out of the way. Normally it would go against everything I

stand for to bow to someone else, but this is the f*ckin’ moon goddess, who wouldn’t bow?!

                “I apologize, but I came here to bless the ranked members in more ways than just a verbal

blessing. So, in order for me to do that they need to have their wolves.” She states.

                “Of course, We can make you very comfortable here in the packhouse. We will see to it that you

are accommodated for anythin’ and everythin’ that you need while we await the process for them to

become werewolves takes its course.” I say to her. She smiles a radiant smile at me and I feel at peace

with everything, which is strange since I’ve been terrified since Genevieve went limp in my arms.

                “My dear child. I am the mother of all werewolves. I can speed up the process a bit if I need to

under very special circumstances which I believe this calls for.” She steps forward and places her hand

on both of the girls’ forheads. Her hands start to glow and she whispers a foreign dialect.

                “What is she speaking? I don’t understand what’s happening?” Sebastian said with worry in his

voice.

                “She’s speaking very ancient Greek. It’s supposed to be her language. I studied some of it while I

was in college.” Scar explained to us. I hadn’t even realize that she moved closer until hearing her voice

beside me.

As Selene continues to chant to our women, they start to sweat and shake violently. Sebastian

starts to step forward and I grab his arm to hold him back, soon the shaking stops. After ten minutes

Genevieve starts to foam at the mouth.

                “Roll her over, please, I cannot move my hands from their heads.” Selene commands. I walk up

to Genevieve and roll her on the side so she can spit out any liquid and still breath. After a few more

minutes Genevieve start breathing normal and stops sweating. I’m handed a cool cloth and I start wiping

off her face. After another ten minutes Jojo starts to foam at the mouth as well and Sebastian turns her

on her side.

                Another thirty minutes have passed and the light from Selene’s hands start to dissipate. Once

the light is fully gone she removes her hands and backs away.

                “They should wake up now. They have been fully transformed.” As soon as she said so the girls

eyes flickered open and they sat up. We handed some water to drink and helped them stand. I had no

idea how they did it, but even though they just went through an extremely fast transformation they still

looked amazing in their dresses.

                Seeing Genevieve awake and standing made me want to jump for joy. I grabbed her face with

both of my hands and kissed her deeper than I ever have before. I let go and breathed a sigh of relief.

She looked up at me with such in her eyes, then I saw them turn black and she let out a small growl.

                “Hello, Gorgeous. My name is Amira.” Her wolf growls.

                I think I’ve died and gone to heaven.

*** Sebastian POV ***

                Seeing my mate like that today brought a newfound appreciation to life, life with Jojo. When

she started to foam at the mouth I realized that I would do anything to get her back. Absolutely

anything. I didn’t care if I would need to go to hell and back. I mean why else would I have Hades as a

wolf if I couldn’t do something like that.

After some time when she woke up and I wanted to weep. I just held her. I knew that with the

moon goddess here it was highly unlikely that anything happens to her, but still. I needed to see her

awake for me to know for sure.

                “Bonita, are you ok?” I grab her shoulders and pull her back so I can look at her. I started

from her toes up until her head. I was going so fast that I almost missed her eyes, they were black. I

don’t know when I realized it, but at some point the sky above me was tilting. I became aware of what

was happening seconds before my back hit the ground and Jojo’s wolf jumped on top of me. Hades was

going crazy in my mind. Jojo and I have marked each other, but Hades still hasn’t been able to meet his

mate and he couldn’t wait. He took charge and rolled us on top of Jojo’s body and started to dry hump

her.

                “MINE!” Hades growled. “What’s your name?” He asked while rubbing his nose along the side

of her neck. She purred then answered, “Roxy.”

                I heard a throat being cleared and I remembered that we were on a porch in front of the entire

pack, and the moon goddess. I take back control and help both of us up.

                “I’m sorry for interrupting you gentlemen getting to know your mates, however I cannot stay for

much longer and I need to be able to provide you with your blessings before I take my leave.” Selene

said to us.

                “Absolutely your grace, please forgive us for our oversight.” Jack bowed his head slightly so I

decided to do the same. As much as I wanted to grab Jojo and run I needed to be respectful.

                “Oh, please.” She waved her hand at us. “This is nothing new for our kind. No apologizes

necessary. Now, I wish to do this from lower rank upward so please stand side-by-side.” She requested.

We moved to stand as she said with Scar, Josh, Jojo, myself, Genevieve and finally Jack.

                Selene went to stand in front of Scar. “Dear child, I thank you for the service that you have

provided to your family, your friends, your mate and your pack thus far. I believe you to be the most

communitive of the group. As I have seen you work a place where many different people come to relax.

Since it is welcome by all there are many different languages spoken. Your journeys in your life with take

you many places. But worry not, Sweet Scar and your wolf Sage, for I bestow upon you a gift. The gift of

being omnilingual.” She raised her hands and places them on Scar’s head. “Now, you can understand

any language regardless of if it is dead or alive, common or uncommon. You will understand it.”

                “Thank you, your Grace. I will forever cherish this gift.” Scar did a small curtsy while bowing her

head Selene moved to be in front of Josh.

“Dear child, I thank you for the service that you have provided to your family, your friends, your

mate and your pack thus far. Josh and Poseidon are an extremely vital member of the pack. As the

Gamma you are to ensure to comfortability of the omegas within a pack. If they omegas aren’t well

taken care of then there will be no pack. This job while it is important can sometimes seem to be

unseen, though you are not one to be left behind. For your ability I give you the gift of invisibility. You

may be able to be a fierce warrior and a great support system, but sometimes what goes on behind the

scenes, or unseen, is what is most important.” Once again, she raised her hands and a soft glow

appeared.

                “Thank you, your grace. I will treasure this gift.” Josh bows his head and Selene moves to my love.

                “Jolene and my newborn Roxy, I thank you for the service that you have provided to your family,

your friends, your mate and your pack thus far. You always seem to be needing to jump from place to

place. With the job that you do there is always a need to be in a location within seconds. In battle,

getting in or out quickly is detrimental. As your gift, I give you the gift of teleportation. You might need

time to perfect teleporting, however with time you will be able to travel anywhere at any time without

repercussions.” She finished with her hands on Jolene’s head. Then, she moved in front me. I couldn’t

wait to hear what I would be getting. I was truly blessed with what I have so far, but I had no idea that I

would be receiving gifts like this, let alone from the Moon Goddess herself.

“Sebastian and Hades. I thank you for the service that you have provided to your family, your

friends, your mate and your pack thus far. I always planned to give you your gifts, the moment that I

decided what you would have I knew that you needed to have Hades as your wolf. He is a ferocious

beast, that is willing to protect anything and everything that he loves, regardless of the consequences. I

hear what was in your heart when Jolene was going through her transformation, that you would burn

the world down. Consequences be damned.” My heart started to pound; I didn’t regret feeling how I did

when Jojo was transitioning, but I didn’t want Selene to think that I was reckless with my actions. “You

would raise the dead for her if you had to. It’s never easy to lose someone, I know that you are in charge

of the warriors for your pack. If they fall then who will be there to protect you?” She paused while she

took a breath, this seemed harder to give than the others before me. I was apprehensive now to hear

what she had to say. “As your gift I bestow upon you necromancy. You much be learn to use this wisely.

If you bring back the wrong person then they might wreak havoc that is unforeseen.” I was shocked. I

couldn’t believe that I could bring back the dead. While I took the time to process this Selene had

already given me the gift and was now standing in front of Gen.

“Genevieve and Amira. I don’t quite know where to start with you since I am in some way

speaking to myself. There are a great many things out there that will want your power. In order to

defeat them you must become more powerful, which in turn makes them want you all the more. I

cannot protect you fully as giving you a piece of my soul previously has been able to do in your

childhood. However, I can provide you with as much as I can. You already have visions of the future, but

I want to bestow upon you two more gifts. I will give you the ability to heal as well as atmokinesis, which

is being able to control the weather, it makes sense since your mate is names Zeus. Know that I will

always be here for your as well, my dear niece.” With that she put her softly glowing hands on Gen’s

head, then brought it forward and kissed her on the forehead.

“Last, but surely not least Alpha.” Selene stepped in front of him. “Now a good Alpha must be

able to lead and protect, but he, also, must be able to adapt to his surroundings. Match others or

perhaps succeed further than they could. If you are unable to further yourself then your pack does not

survive or thrive. As I said to Genevieve, there are a great many things out there. It is your job to be able

to protect your Luna. As your gift I give to you the gift of power replication. This goes for anyone,

including others outside of your pack as well. So, if, say perhaps a certain demon comes for you, now

you are able to match his power. I am giving you a fighting chance. I cannot win it for you, that it is still

on your own. I am simply providing the tools for you to have a fair fight, while being able to lead your

pack into a better future.” She raises her hands for the last time.

Once she is done, she takes a few steps back, “Thank you my children for protecting my family

and yours. Now I must take my leave. Until we see each other again.” Then she disappeared. As I looked

around myself, there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd.

                Jack stepped forward and addressed the crowd. “I am not quite sure how to find the words, but

I do know that what we have witnessed here today has been nothing short of a miracle. I for one plan to

continue to be the best Alpha that I can be for you. Now, I apologize for keeping everyone hear as long

as we have, but now I think that it is the best time go to for a pack run. Once we have solidified our unity

with the new ranked members you will be able to disperse and have the rest of the night to yourselves.”

                Everyone undressed and soon Zeus took off running and the rest of the pack followed. I can’t

remember the last night that we all felt at peace as we do now.

                We ran as a pack for a little while, but after some time Roxy and Hades went by themselves to

become better acquainted. I’m sure they, also, intended to mark each other as soon as possible. I put up

a block so they could have some privacy and just relaxed for the rest of the time.
