AURORA /MORNING/ I stared at the clouds as darkness slowly gave way to light. The cold morning breeze swept through the air, making me wrap my arms around myself. I didn't even know why I had come down this early. I could have stayed back in bed. I could have pretended I was still asleep. But Lucien had told me to join them for the pack run, and somehow, I had actually listened. Now I was standing outside alone like an i***t. I looked around and there was no sign of Cassian, Julian, Lucien, or even Kieran. “Why am I even here first?” I frowned. Maybe the maid hated me. Perhaps she had deliberately brought me outside before everyone else just to embarrass me. I was still grumbling to myself when someone stepped out from the shadows. I looked up and it was Julian. His dark-purple hair was slightly messy, and his eyes immediately settled on me. Unlike before, he didn't look away. Instead, he walked towards me, his brows furrowing. “Don't you feel cold?” he asked, glancing at my clothes. “Why would you wear this outside?” Before I could answer, he removed his jacket and draped it over my shoulders. I blinked in surprise. “Th..thank you” He gave a small nod and stepped away. His kindness caught me off guard. I hadn't expected it from him. Before I could say anything else, a familiar arm suddenly wrapped around my neck. “Don't tell me you beat me to it" I nearly jumped at the impact before noticing the voice. "Lucien!” He laughed, pulling me closer. “Where did you come from? I didn't even hear you” I asked, looking around. “Let's just say I move in ways people can't predict" He grinned proudly and I couldn't help but laugh. “You're unbelievable” “I know" His grin widened and that made him looked more attractive and cute. Without being told I immediately knew he's the last of them all. A few moments later, Cassian and Kieran appeared from the other side of the courtyard. "Oh you're here? Lois is looking for you" I heard Cassian said. "Lois? You mean mother?" I asked and he nodded. "Yes, so head back. Maybe some other day you can join the pack run" I couldn't be more happier. He just saved me from the stress of thinking of a perfect lie to tell them when they all shift and I didn't. "See you later princess" Lucien's hands slipped away from my shoulders and I smiled before heading out. By the time I returned to the house, the entire place was buzzing with activity. Servants were rushing around, decorations were being arranged, and preparations were underway. Whatever they were planning, it looked like a party. I didn't know where my mother was, so I headed straight to my room and decided to wait there in case she comes there looking for me. To keep myself occupied, I picked up one of the books from the shelf and started reading. I didn't know how much time had passed before a soft knock sounded on my door. “Come in!” The door opened, and one of the maids stepped inside. “Lady Aurora, the princes are inviting you to the gym house" She informed. “Gym house? Are they back from the pack run?” I asked. “Yes, my princess. They returned about an hour ago" She replied with a nod. “An hour ago?” My eyes widened as I quickly glanced at the clock. Nine in the morning. I remembered stepping outside around six and returning shortly after, so how had three hours disappeared so quickly? “Okay, thank you. I'll get dressed” The maid nodded before leaving. I closed my book and returned it to the shelf before opening my closet. After searching through my clothes, I settled on a red biker short and a sleeveless tank top. Not that I could actually work out but since I couldn't join the pack run, I might as well do something else with them. The maid led me through the hallway until we reached a large door. "It's here ma'am" "Thank you" I pushed the door opened and stepped in. The gym was surprisingly spacious and filled with different kinds of equipment. But there was only one person inside. Lucien. He stood at the other end of the room, arranging a few pieces of equipment. The moment he noticed me, he stopped and turned around. "Oh.... you're here already?" He asked with that same mischievous smile and grin on his face. "Yes, but where are the other's?" I asked. "They stepped out to get something's but since you're here let's get started" He said pulling out some dumbbells. "Get started? I can't gym" "That's exactly why I'm here" He placed the dumbbells down and motioned towards me. “Now, spread your legs apart" I stared at him as that sounded unnecessarily suggestive. Get your mind out of the gutter, Aurora. I'd clearly been reading too many romance books lately. I reluctantly did as he instructed and Lucien studied my stance. “Not wide enough" Before I could react, he nudged one of my legs farther apart with his foot and I nearly lost my balance. “Good" He nodded. “Now go down!" He commanded and I obeyed. “Up" He said and I followed. “Down" “Up" "Down" My thighs were already beginning to burn as I kept moving up and down. “When I say up, you go up. When I say down, you go down. Focus and pay attention and stop moving like an old, haggard lady" He scolded and I glared at him. “I'm trying!” I shifted my weight to say something else, but my leg suddenly twisted. I stumbled and almost hit the floor, when strong arms caught me around the waist and i froze at the impact. “Careful" Lucien steadied me. His voice had lost its teasing edge. “Don't lose your focus" He warned. He helped me straighten before moving behind me. "Now I'll guide you” His hands settled around my waist again as he carefully guided my movements. Up. Down. Up. Down. I kept moving with him right behind me. He was so close, far too close that I could smell his warm and masculine cologne. And suddenly I couldn't remember what exercise we were even doing. Focus, Aurora. Wasn't this the exact thing he'd just warned me about? "What are you doing?" I almost jumped at the sudden voice. I looked towards the entrance and saw Kieran standing at the door with a towel around his neck. "I'm coaching her" Lucien replied his hands still firmly wrapped around my waist. I watched as his eyes moved down to my waist before moving up to meet my gaze then back at Lucien. "Move!" His voice was cold as ice as an irritation settled on his face making me wonder what was wrong with him. "You want the job?" Lucien asked casually. "I said move!! She's off limit" He resounded taking me a back. I'm off limit? I don't get....what does he means by that? "Since when??" "Since when she arrived so becareful Lucien"
