JULIAN Cassian strode in with an unusual aura and I knew something was wrong with him. I noticed it the moment he walked back into the castle. He wasn't looking all angry, and that was the problem. Cassian was always angry when something bothered him. He either said exactly what was on his mind or made everyone around him feel the weight of his silence. But this time, he was quiet in a different way. Like that of distraction. His jaw was tight, his eyes distant, and he barely acknowledged Lucien when he walked past him. I leaned back against the wall, watching him carefully as he approached. "What happened?" I asked, and he stopped. "Nothing," he replied. I raised an eyebrow at him. That was a total lie. Cassian glanced at me before continuing down the hallway, and I followed. "Since when do you come back from shopping looking like you've just lost a battle?" He stopped again. His eyes met mine before he said, "Stay out of it, Julian!" "Interesting..." I smiled faintly, halting in my tracks. "You're shoving me out of your business" Now I was definitely going to get involved. Because Whatever had happened out there, I wanted to know. "I thought it was my work of annoying you guys?" Lucien sounded behind me, and I turned around. "I wasn't trying to annoy Cassian, but it seems the dude saw me as a bug" I shrugged, and Lucien chuckled. "I don't know, but something definitely happened" He glanced toward Cassian's retreating back. "And knowing him, he'll rather swallow whatever is bothering him than tell us" Lucien said. "You think so?" "Of course" Lucien walked beside me, lowering his voice. "Our dear Cassian has always been terrible at admitting when something gets under his skin. It's like he's insecure" "You call that insecurity?" I couldn't help but laugh. "Yeah, insecurity of his right thinking" Lucien shook his head. "I bet he doesn't want to lose that. Else, he won't be able to advise us anymore. The poor thing" He laughed loudly, and I joined him. "Hahaha... how funny!" Cassian's voice suddenly came from in front of us and I looked up. He was standing a few feet away with his arms crossed over his chest. "Ahh, you're such a joy killer. I literally thought you were gone already" I hissed. "And then you decided it was right to talk about me behind my back?" He c****d his brows at me. Before I could answer, he grabbed my shirt and yanked me forward. "Hey! It was just a little tease. Nothing else" I raised my hands in the air as a sign of surrender. "Little tease?" His eyes narrowed. "Why don't I tease you instead? When was the last time you wooed a girl?" "Wait. Can you even woo a girl?" I immediately frowned at his words. "Now that's more than a tease. You're mocking me" I pulled his hands away from my shirt before arranging it. "Can you, Julian?" "The answer is no. Because I don't need to woo anyone. My handsome and charming looks are enough to call them to me without wasting my time. Ugly folks like you have to work for it, not me" I scoffed, while running a hand through my hair. "When you meant ugly, do you mean all of us? Because you know we are darn identical right?" Lucien asked. "I don't look like you guys. I'm the most handsome and charming one among you guys. My handsome face speaks for me all the time. So don't you ever say we look alike because we don't" I warned and both of them gave me a boring and confused look. "Now I blame Cassian for bringing up that topic when you know Julian is so obsessed about his handsome-looking face without realizing we all look the same" Lucien placed his hands over his face tiredly. "I've told you earlier, we don't look the same!" "Yeah, sure. I agree, you're the most handsome one among us" He nodded and I smiled proudly. "Any information yet, Julian?" Kieran's cold voice interrupted us and I turned toward him. He was leaning against the wall, his expression unreadable. "Not yet" I sighed. "I don't know what those elders are planning, but it definitely doesn't look good. And in all, they're throwing a party" I hissed loudly. Whenever I remembered the interrogations in the courtroom, it immediately spiked my anger. Those damn elders and that alpha father. "Probably to lure out the person," Kieran said. "Now how will they suggest it was us who got into the sacred room and stole the orb?" Lucien asked, sounding disgusted. "The fact still remains that none of us had heard about the orb until that day," I said. "And that's exactly what doesn't make sense" Kieran pushed himself away from the wall. "What was the orb protecting us from anyway?"He asked. Before any of us could answer, another voice came from behind. "That's because you don't know what the orb was created for" We all turned and Marcel was walking toward us. His expression was serious....too serious for me. "What do you mean?" Cassian asked and Marcel stopped in front of us. "The sacred orb wasn't simply a powerful artifact kept inside the royal chamber to beautify the place" He started. "It was created for a very specific purpose...." "Which is?" Lucien frowned. "To prevent multiple royal children from sharing one mate" He answered and I immediately stared at him. "What?" Marcel's eyes remained serious. Multiple children from sharing one mate? He is relating to them by any chance?
