Here is an expanded version of Chapter 1: Rory had always loved Christmas. She loved the lights, the decorations, the music, and the feeling of joy and wonder that seemed to fill the air. But this year, she was feeling a little down. She had just gone through a rough breakup, and the thought of spending Christmas alone was not exactly thrilling. As she wandered around her apartment, trying to decide what to do with herself, Rory's eyes landed on a brochure that she had picked up a few days earlier. It was for a Christmas-themed cruise, and it looked amazing. The ship was decorated with lights and garlands, and there were Christmas trees and wreaths everywhere. The passengers were all smiling and laughing, and Rory couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy. Why not? she thought to herself. Why not take a chance and do something different this Christmas? Rory quickly picked up the phone and dialed the number on the brochure. A friendly voice answered, and Rory asked about the cruise. "Yes, we have a few cabins left," the voice said. "But you'll have to act fast. The cruise is leaving tomorrow." Rory's heart skipped a beat. Tomorrow? That was fast. But she didn't hesitate. She booked the cabin and then spent the rest of the day packing and preparing for her trip. The next day, Rory arrived at the dock and boarded the ship. As the steward left, Rory sat down on the bed and took a sip of her champagne. She felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. What would this cruise be like? Would she meet new people? Have new experiences? As she sat there, lost in thought, there was another knock at the door. This time, it was Asher, one of the ship's entertainers. "Hi there, Rory," he said, with a charming smile. "I'm Asher. I'll be performing in the ship's theater tonight. I thought I'd come and introduce myself." Rory was taken aback by Asher's good looks and charming personality. She felt a flutter in her chest as she smiled back at him. "Nice to meet you, Asher," she said. "I'll definitely come and see your show tonight." Asher grinned. "I'll look forward to it," he said. "And maybe I'll see you around the ship later?" Rory nodded, feeling a sense of excitement and possibility. Maybe this cruise was going to be more interesting than she had thought... As Asher left, Rory couldn't help but wonder what other surprises the cruise might have in store for her. She spent the rest of the day exploring the ship, attending a Christmas-themed lecture, and browsing the ship's shops. That night, she went to see Asher's show, which was a hilarious and entertaining comedy routine.
