#Apologize Aya's POV. "Leave my parents out of this! You have no clue what I'm dealing with. Who do you think you are, judging me like you're some kind of perfect person?" Kayden looked at me seriously. "Me? I'm Aya and 18 years old, what about you?" he shot me a sharp glance. "You're incredibly brave to face me" He spoke in a low tone. "You know what? Why I just want you to apologize? Because 'sorry' is important for everyone's peace...A while ago, I recall my traumas about our broken family because from a simple sorry, everything was in chaos, escalated and ruined my family... I just want you to apologize, that's all! This wouldn't have blown up if you hadn't been stubborn!" "Why are you even explaining? I don't care about you. Do you think the issue will escalate if you just give it to me? It's mine, after all. Can you just give it to me so this doesn't escalate further?" I looked at him intently. "And don't you think the issue will settle down if you just apologize!!!!!" My voice was loud, that makes my classmates and his stared at me. "Hey! Are you two still causing a commotion? Let's practice properly, please!!!" Sierra shouted. Rica has left my back already, and Sir Damian is also gone. I looked Kayden furiously and he did the same. I rolled my eyes to him and avoided him. I walked away first and then we're now practicing our dance. "pst Aya! You and Kayden were so sweet earlier haha, like a married couple fighting!" Joshua said behind me, and I gave him a look. "Oh really? what about you? You even freaked out like a chicken when Kayden pulled out the knife from his bag." I'm getting back at him because he's annoying! I was arguing with Kayden earlier because he refused to apologize to you, and everybody. And now, Joshua, you're making fun of me and even saying we're like a married couple!? Yuck! "Come on, you were just arguing verbally, then he suddenly pulls out a knife. Wouldn't you be scared? You'd probably flee, only to end up bleeding on the ground." His friends laughed for what Joshua said. "You know, even if you kill me, I won't tell it to my dad!" I retorted back at him. "woaahhh!!!!" The guys in section Justice, laughed for what I've said. I looked at Kayden, who was now staring down, looking sad. "Because you don't even have a dad" His words stopped me in my tracks. "Hey, Aya! Behave yourself! Don't meddle in their problems! We're practicing dance here, not debating!" Sierra scolded me. Everyone's eyes are on me, except Kayden. "Are you on your period or something? Why are you being so extra?" Rica whispered to me. I'm not. I'm just frustrated to them! After the dance, we went to our respective rooms. Throughout the discussion, I couldn't stop thinking about what happened earlier and my argument with Kayden. I took out the keychain from my pocket and stared at it. I saw something written on the side, which I only noticed now. 'I love you bb KD -lol' I couldn't understand the last letter; it's almost a dot already. "Rica look!" I showed to her who's sitting next to me busy taking a selfie with herself. "Do you think his girlfriend gave this to him?'" "I don't know, I haven't seen him with a girlfriend. Maybe he has one, but it's low-key. 'Give up, no matter how hard you try, he won't apologize. He never apologizes, even in elementary school, no matter how big the mistake, even if his grandma told him to say sorry, nothing happened" Rica answered. "Really? Then I'll just give it to my sibling" "i***t! That wouldn't look good if you kept it! it doesn't belong to you, duh! just give it back." It seems Rica is taking Kayden's side. Who is her real best friend, anyway? "I don't want to! All I want is a 'sorry' in exchange for his keychain! it's not that hard to do. I didn't even ask him to pay for it." "He didn't even apologize!! I don't know what's wrong with both of you!! You're giving me a headache with your pride!... what if you two start dating? Who'll give in?" I felt cringy after hearing Rica said. "Don't talk like that!! That's disgusting! I'll never date someone with that attitude." I covered Rica's mouth, and she burst out laughing. "Just give it up already." "No!! Even though he didn't used apologize someone before... I believed that he can change his ways if he said sorry to someone now... Apologizing is important! there's no harm in it." Rica left me alone. After class, Rica and I walked together as usual. "Hey Aya, Be careful! Kayden might be waiting for you at the gate! Hahaha, that guy's crazy!" Joshua shouted at me. "You might get r***d!!! Hahaha, He'll do something else!" Kengge added. "I'm worried about you, Aya." I laughed at Rica's concerned face. As we walked out of school, Rica shared stories about Kayden's mischievous elementary days." "In 5th grade, we were classmates. I remember I had a huge crush on him. One day, he stormed into our room, tossed my bag from my locker, and I cried when I approached it. They even laughed at me! Then, I recalled when I fell asleep, they messed with my face, but I'm unsure if he was involved. They just laughed at me a lot! There were more incidents... He often clashed with the boys! Like when he suddenly poked our classmate with a ballpen! He never apologized. During our elementary graduation, he caused trouble again, punching a classmate who bled! He almost didn't graduate, but he passed because he's with honors" "what? he's smart?" "yes! he is! he even got a higher score than mine!" "Oh really? He's smart, so why he doesn't have a knowledge on how to respect and he doesn't know what's right and wrong? It's simple!" "Aya, he's at the gate!" Rica said, stopping us mid-stride. I glanced at the gate and saw Kayden standing with his friends, laughing and joking around. He placed his bag in front of him. "Aya, let's not go out yet! Let's head to the library?" Rica suggested nervously. "Omg!! What's wrong with you! It's getting dark! lol! What will we do in the library?" I replied, walking towards Kayden. "Hey, Aya!!!" Rica trailed behind me, worried. As I approached, Kayden's eyes locked onto mine. His friends snickered and smiled. "Aren't you waiting for me, i***t!?" I asked them with a playful smile. "Give it up already, Aya" I felt Rica's trembling grip on me. "Oh? Is it that obvious?" Kayden smirked. "Yeah, he's waiting for you 'cause he has a crush on you, hahaha!" said his friend with red messy hair. "He just wants to make sure you're safe," added the chubby guy with a drum-like body. "I thought you guys were my supporters. how could you pair me with this...," Kayden gives me a head-to-foot looking. "What?! Hey! a guy that looks like an angry birds with a furrowed eyebrows, wide glaring eyes and all you need is to paint red over your face and a color orange on top of your nose!" "Oh, you mean my pointed nose?" "Your nose that full of boogers!! and there's even hair inside of it, iw!! " "At least my nose wasn't run over by a train, unlike yours, it's flat!" "Hey, at least I proved I'm not flat-nosed! My nose is just small, that's why you call it flat! See!" I tilted my head to show off my nose. "Why are we even talking about my nose? What do you want? Is it about the keychain? Fine, let me hear you to say sorry" I stood with raised eyebrows, expecting an apology. His friends burst into laughter, while he looked at me with a serious expression. "Not even my parents and teachers can make me apologize, so who are you, a hypocrite girl, to demand an apology from me? I didn't even commit a huge mistake against you!" he said calmly. "He's right Aya! Just give it to him!" Rica whispering behind me. "Or maybe he just wants attention from you, pre! He seems like an attention seeker!" his friend said and laughed hard. "Wait, Let me ask you, Why don't you want to apologize? Are you unwilling to admit your mistakes? Why is saying sorry such a big deal for you?you won't apologize? for what? for your coolness? or it because you didn't acknowledge that you did a mistakes!? You won't die if you apologize. Simple words can bring peace. And what are you guys talking about, saying I'm attracted to this guy? That's disgusting! I won't fall for someone with Satan-like behavior!" I showed him the Superman keychain, and he stared at it. "All I want is a simple 'sorry' for me and everyone you interrupted, and I'll return your keychain. I'm not even asking for money! Just say sorry, that's all! Is it hard? You're so used to being like Satan!" "Bring out your weapon now, Den!!" Kayden's friend taunted. "She's acting too tough, thinking she's some kind of big shot," Kayden's friend sneered. I sensed Rica slowly backing away from me. "Go on, bring out your knife! Let everyone see how crazy and evil you are! Will your parents be proud of what you're doing? I can sense that you're probably okay, but I'm just concerned about your behavior." He suddenly stormed off, exiting the gate. "Where's he going?" his friend asked. "I don't know... let's follow him." His friends left too. "Aya, huhu! I'm crying because of you!! You're picking a fight with a guy!! Let's go, let's leave!" Rica said, tearfully. I wonder what happened to him. Why the sudden emotional shift? I'd love to understand his life's backstory.
