Chapter 1
#Keychain Aya's POV. I woke up early, preparing for my first day at a new school. After quickly showering and dressing, I carefully examined my uniform. The outfit, consisting of a black blazer, dark red skirt, white shirt and necktie, exuded elegance. I'm an 18-year-old high school senior. My school is a large private institution with separate buildings for senior high, junior high and elementary and separate canteen also. Student enrollment is intentionally limited to optimize educational quality, so the students here is not too many. Adjacent lies the college building, sharing the same ownership. I transferred here because senior highschool graduates receive free college tuition. Fortunately, I passed the entrance exam, earning a scholarship. I wouldn't waste this opportunity. The semester had already begun when I enrolled, so I had to catch up immediately. Fortunately, my first day was pleasant, despite limited social interactions. I met Rica who became my best friend, who shared valuable insights about the school, having attended since elementary. It's been more than a week since I enrolled, and I'm slowly adapting to the school's environment. "With so many sections partnering for the dance, why is it that my section is the one that's chaotic? What trouble did you get into yesterday?!" Our PE teacher scolded us loudly, along with the STEM section, because we (ABM Empathy and STEM Justice) were combined for a dance performance. Our classmates were stunned, seemingly intimidated by Sir Damian's outburst for the first time. "Sir Damian... Ahm I'm sorry about yesterday, I didn't know about a fight between the boys threatening physical harm, because I was too busy training girls for steps" Sierra apologize, our mayor. "who really started the trouble??" sir Damian raised-an-eyebrow question. "Ah sir... This began with a minor disagreement between Kayden and Richard, their classmates." One Guy in section Justice, explained "Until Kayden got irritated, and that's when the trouble started" "Where are they now!?" "I think Joshua is Absent, while Kayden is spoken to by our adviser" mayor in section justice, said. "Kayden and his friends were boasting, and the others were whispering to Kayden until he pulled out a knife, causing Richard to run away. Kayden and his group left abruptly, just as Richard's father arrived, furious, asking why we were practicing there." Kengge explain, our classmate. "And then where's Kayden Group?" "We're not familiar with them Sir, He was with some other people" "Father's Joshua even took a video from me, Sir" "Why??" "Kayden is also my friend, and I'd be blamed if anything happens to his child" "Did you know that his father constantly went to principal office?? and we're facing infront of the principal..." That's all I heard about the commotion involving the guy in our section and the others. It's just frustrating because while we were exhausted from practicing yesterday, they were already arguing! Our dance performance almost didn't push through. As we walked to the canteen, I was with Rica. "Girl, that guy who named Kayden is so really annoying... right?" As I started talking to Rica. "That Kayden has been a troublemaker for a long time, he already has a lot of records at the principal's office." Rica said. "How did you know that?" I asked. "Ugh! I've been studying here since elementary, and Kayden's been my classmate too... Many students have already transferred to other schools because they're afraid of him. We thought he'd changed since he's grown up, but no! He's only gotten worse." Rica answered with irritation in her face. "By the way, I don't recognize who's Kayden there" I said with a low tone. "What??The tall guy with curly hair, pointed nose, and thick eyebrows like Angry Birds." Rica even lowered the middle of his eyebrows using her finger to looks like an Angry Birds. "His face is intimidating! well, he's really handsome and honestly! I have crush on him before but when he started bully me that day?? I've been crying so hard! my heart is so really hurt" she held her chest while me busy thinking who he really is. "I don't remember him" I said "ahh! how could you remember when you don't really seem to care about guys" Rica rolled her eyes on me. We brought burger and drinks and went back to our classroom. I was sitting in my seat and busy opening my drink when my classmate suddenly made a noise "Ma'am!! Kayden is there outside! He is daring us to fight" Kengge shouted at our professor. Our adviser was shocked. I peeked outside, but I couldn't see Kayden anymore. "Where's him?" I asked Rica, Who's sitting next to me. "He already left" she answered. hays! I didn't even recognize his f*cking face! "That Kayden is really too muchh! If I see him, his cheek might swell from the force of my slap!" I said furiously. Rica just laughed at me. "Just swallow you words and be quiet" she said and bite her burger. I furrowed my eyebrows. After a few days, we were allowed to return to dance practice because the boys were okay now. As I was running upstairs to my room, I encountered a tall guy wearing a jacket who blocked my path. Every time I tried to pass, he would turn in the same direction "What the hell?" we both shouted together. I looked at his face, and it was full of anger, like he had immense resentment towards the whole world. There was no hint of joking or playfulness in his expression I didn't know what happened, but he suddenly pushed me, and I almost fell. He quickly moved away from me and put his hand into his pocket. "Wow! You're so cheeky! You look like Angry Birds!" I shouted at him, and then did I realize just two of us on the stairs. Why were we arguing over the one place?. I hadn't noticed I was already staring intensely at his toad-like face earlier. Argh!! I hate him! I touched my forehead and saw a keychain on the floor, so I picked it up. It's a Superman keychain. I think it's his, but it's funny, he's not kid anymore. I put it in my pocket and rushed upstairs to the 6th floor where our PE room is. I headed straight here because time is running out for our first subject, which is PE. When I entered, our section, Section Justice, was already there. I immediately looked for Rica to share what happened earlier, but I couldn't find her. Was she late too? I sat beside Sierra, our mayor, just as Sir Damian entered. He briefly discussed the festival dance, then suddenly stopped as they gazed at the door. I looked too, and gosh! It was the guy I bumped into earlier, the Angry Birds lookalike! "Kayden!? Where have you been?! You're late! Come here!" sir Damian said to him. What the?? so that's Kayden?! No wonder I'm so mad with this guy! he's incredibly disrespectful and immature!!!! He keep calm while approaching sir Damian. "You haven't apologized to Joshua yet? You're okay now, but still no apology?" "Why would I?" He furrowed his eyebrow. While sir Damian seriously looking at him. "Your pride is really high, huh? You never learned to apologize, even as a child" sir Damian said. "That's it, You already know that I won't do apologize" I'm seriously listening to them now. "I were hoping you'd change and learn what's right and wrong, but apparently not?" Kayden looked down, and Sir Damian shot him a stern look. "What if something bad happens to Joshua? Kayden, you could end up in jail, courtesy of his father!" He continue scolding that guy. I'm started searching for Joshua, and he's already here. He's smiling like an i***t, even though he's my classmate, he's weird. "Why are you late to my class when your classmates said that you got to your room early?" sir Damian asked "Before your class, I went to the restroom and my keychain suddenly went missing, so I'm looking for it" he explained. but wait! what? keychain?? he really owned this thing. "So you're worried about the keychain more than my class hours?" sir Damian is already furious. "yeah... that's more imp—" he stopped when I suddenly spoke up. "this?" I raised the Superman keychain, and he stared at it. "How did you get that?" He asked me with a furrowed eyebrows. "This fell in the same spot where you pushed me, almost making me lose balance." His stern look unsettled me "You shouldn't take things that aren't yours... If you just left it, I'd have arrived sooner." "Really? What if someone else found it? What if you hadn't retrieved it and it got lost? Which is more troublesome?" "Then thanks to you?? Can you just give it to me?" I saw his previously worried face brighten up when he saw the keychain in my hand. "Nah, I won't give it to you unless you say sorry... to me, to Joshua, to Joshua's father, to sir Damian, and to us, your classmate and to my classmates... for interrupting our dance practice" I said confidently. he chuckled. "That will never happen, especially to Joshua and his dad?? nahh! That only happens when you guys are dreaming" he arrogantly said. I glanced at Sierra beside me and thought to myself, 'Stop this, or I might punch this guy' "Fine! You'll never see your keychain again" I said and immediately took a seat. "okay! Stop wasting time! You should be practicing your dance instead... You must start now!" Sir Damian announced. They're already standing up for our practice. while me, having a hard time to avoid Kayden's gaze. "What's with the bravado?!" Rica exclaimed, popping up beside me. "Hand over the keychain before Kayden does something into you! you don't know him!" "All he needs to do is to apologize, and it won't hurt him to say sorry to everyone" She grabbed my hand. "You were so bold earlier! Probably no girl has ever stood up to him like that, just give it up! He's not even apologizing." "What? Does he think he did nothing wrong? He doesn't acknowledging his mistakes! He won't learn if he's prideful. Encouraging Kayden to apologize can foster a positive resolution! and beside, It's just a keychain! He can buy another anywhere, right? If I didn't confront him about this keychain, he'd never see it again, and I'd rather to keep and give it to my sibling." "Kayden's so different" "How's he differ? Is he a special child? Should we tolerate everything he does? He's so shameless!" "Fine, be that way! If something bad happens to you, don't blame me, I warned you!" "And another new guidance again! he can be suspended" "He will never be suspended because the owner of this school was his aunt!" "No wonder he's not afraid of guidance! What's wrong with him? How did his parents raise him—" I stopped talking when I heard something behind me. "Leave my parents out of this! You have no clue what I'm dealing with. Who do you think you are, judging me like you're some kind of perfect person?" Kayden looked at me seriously. To be continued...
