Chapter 1
Elijah’s POV Saturday. My best day of the week to clear my head. No school, no pressure, no expectations. Jake already sent me the location — a new club he’d been hyping for weeks. Supposedly the hottest spot in town, fresh, flashy, packed with girls who’d probably be lining up for me. Perfect. I just got out of the shower, the steam still lingering on my skin as I threw on some casual clothes — black jeans, a loose white tee, and my favorite leather jacket. Simple. Comfortable. Effortlessly cool. That’s me. As I stepped out of my room, I caught sight of my dad’s wife. She was in the kitchen, probably trying to “impress” me again. Always a performance with her. Always fake smiles and fake kindness. I don’t give a damn. The second I see her face, it just reminds me why I hate my dad so much. Ever since Mom died, it’s been nothing but fights and silent cold wars between us. Flashback. Mom was diagnosed with stage four cancer. The doctors told us she didn’t have much time. I remember sitting by her hospital bed, holding her hand, trying not to cry in front of her. She was my rock — loving, caring, the one person I trusted in this messed-up world. But the cancer took her away. And it wasn’t easy losing her. It felt like losing the ground beneath my feet. A year later, my dad remarried. Just like that, like Mom was nothing but some old memory to erase. I was furious. How could he just replace her like that? It crushed something inside me, broke my faith in love, in people, even in myself. That’s who I am today — a bad boy with a broken heart and no reason to trust anyone. Back to reality. “Eli, I’m cooking something for dinner. We’d love for you to join,” Rose said, her voice full of fake sweetness, probably thinking I’d say no. I glanced over at her and my dad’s wife, who was standing behind, smiling sarcastically. “You and your husband can enjoy that,” I shot back coldly. They just laughed it off, knowing better than to push me. I don’t do fake family dinners. Not anymore. ************************************************* The club was exactly what Jake promised — loud music, flashing lights, people packed in tight. As I walked through the entrance, I could feel the eyes on me. Girls always looked, and I didn’t blame them. I was hot — not that I was bragging, but when you’ve got the looks and the confidence, people notice. My lean build, dark eyes, that easy smile I used when I wanted to charm — it worked. Liam, always the life of the party, greeted me with a wide grin. “Welcome to the jungle, man,” he said, handing me a drink. We drank, danced, and played the usual games. You know, the ones where you try to outdo each other, flirting with every girl in sight, proving who was king of the night. But tonight, I wasn’t just here to have fun. I was here to forget. Forget everything that tore me apart. Later, after the party had thinned out, we picked up some girls to keep the night going. I was with mine, and the heat between us was undeniable. Back in my hotel room, the atmosphere was thick with tension and desire. She was gorgeous — her curves were the kind that made your head spin. Her breasts were full and firm, n*****s tight against the cool air. I couldn’t wait. I kissed her slowly, tasting her lips, feeling the spark ignite between us. Then I pushed her gently onto the bed, my hands roaming over her body like I’d been waiting for this moment forever. Her skin was soft, warm, and she was soaking wet, letting me know she wanted me just as much. I slid my fingers inside her, making her moan softly. God, I loved that sound — raw, needy, unfiltered. I teased her n*****s, sucking and biting gently, driving her crazy. Her body arched into mine like she was craving every touch. When I finally revealed myself, the look on her face told me everything. She knew what she was in for — and she wanted it. She took me into her mouth, eager and willing. I held her head gently, moving with steady rhythm, watching the pleasure grow in her eyes. Then I flipped her onto her back and slid inside her, slow and deep. She moaned louder, gripping the sheets. I gave it to her hard and fast, lost in the moment. This was me — the bad boy who didn’t care about feelings, only about the thrill. Nothing attached. Just a night, a conquest. The usual. Morning came too fast. I slipped out of the room before she even stirred, leaving behind the scent of last night and no strings attached. No goodbyes, just drop some cash,” just another night, another game played and won. That’s how it always was. I grabbed my jacket, headed down to the lobby, and caught up with the guys. The usual banter, the usual laughs. Same old life.
