Reverie
There seem to be instances when we believe something will happen. But we'll be startled if they're gone.
We often wonder why this happened in the first place. Why is it that we are set to meet someone, but they are not destined to stay with us? Life is a shambles.
"So, do you believe it's all decided now?"
"Are you with us?"
When Leslie called, I came back to my senses.
In the first place, why am I daydreaming?
"Yes, I agree, I agree,” I answered.
Venus wondered, "Are you sure? Is it okay?"
Oh, crap! I don't have any idea what's going on.
It's a question that I'm not sure how to answer. What's okay?
I'm afraid I'm going to get screwed if they find out I'm not listening. Geez. I'm not going to be able to pull this one off.
"Of course, why not? There's nothing wrong with it, right?"
That's right, Charity. Don't act clueless.
"Great! It's been a while, so it is better for them to have closure. Right?"
When Leslie asked me this time, I was a little hesitant. What exactly are they referring to?
I did, however, find myself nodding. I'm without a doubt the biggest liar here.
Why was I out of my mind in the midst of our meeting?
Then they changed the subject! I waited for them to explain, but they didn't! That means I'm bound to possible failure.
"Wow, you've arrived!" Venus shrieked as she rushed towards him.
My eyes widened. What is he doing here? The reason for his presence isn't clearly obvious. How did he know?
"Oh, what's that reaction? You were informed, weren't you?" I asked the woman in front of me, Leslie.
In a whisper, I exclaimed, "I'm not!"
She arched an eyebrow and said, "You agreed to this!"
I responded, still muttering, "Why would I consent to that?"
Then she smiled as she stated, "Face the consequences of not paying attention to our meeting yesterday." Thereafter, she welcomed the guests. Him as well.
So, that was it? I would have just asked them if I had known what they were talking about.
But then I said "Oh, yes! I agree!" like a fool. Charity, you're a moron.
I rushed to the lavatory and shut the door.
"What's the matter with me?"
That was the only thought that sprang to my mind. And heart.
The period of time has been five years. It's been five years! Nonetheless… I'm still not over him.
My mind was flooded with memories that came rushing back to me.
