Chapter 2

*Unknown POV* I watched her beautiful body as it lay on the hospital bed. I couldn’t wait to have her in my arms. “Don’t you think it is time to wake her up and see if the experiment worked?” I asked the doctor as we both looked into her room through the glass window. “We have already reduced the dosage. She should wake up on her own when she is ready.” He replied before facing me. “And I told you that it works. I don’t understand why you doubt me.” He rolled his eyes. “You are so lucky that you are family.” I said through clenched teeth. “Yeah, yeah!” He chuckled. “You paid for the best education, but you still question me.” “Whatever. Can you blame me though? It’s been a month since we began the experiment. I’m getting impatient.” I told him honestly. And I was. I didn’t spend one trillion dollars to watch her lying in bed for the rest of her life. “Senator Rossi!” One of my security officers called my name. “Yes?” I asked as I turned. “I have the security ready to move.” He said. “Your meeting is in fifteen minutes. If we don’t leave now, then we won’t make it on time.” “Fine.” I muttered before turning to look at her one last time. “You better call me if she wakes up, Alberto.” I whispered to the doctor before walking off. *Leo’s POV* I paced the office as I heard the latest from my men. The search this morning was another failed attempt. I’m fūcking losing it. “Capo, we have no registrations of new moves from the other Capos.” Dario said, making me stop in my tracks. “Were you able to infiltrate one of our girls into the black market?” I asked him. “No, Capo.” Eleazar said. “Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find anyone that is willing to do it.” He said just as Lala joined us. “I’ll do it.” She said as soon as she stopped in front of me. “The fūck you are!“ Marcelo yelled, beating me to it. I took a deep breath, trying to control my anger. I have been so focused on finding Cata that I have ignored whatever is the shīt that they have going on. “I have to agree with this one.” I hissed, rolling my eyes. “You aren’t doing shīt.” I crossed my arms as she glared at me. “Do you want to keep wasting time?” She shouted. “Do I have to remind you about what happened to me?” She asked in a lower voice. I closed my eyes as my fists clenched at my sides. “Bellissima, please don’t say that.” Marcelo said as he approached us. I opened my eyes to find him wrapping his arms around her waist, making me glare at him. “Leo.” Lala placed her hands on my chest. “Clarissa could have helped but…” She said with a frown. I sighed, remembering when I was informed that she was killed the day Cata was taken. I still haven’t been able to find someone that I can trust like I did with her. “So, I’m your only other option.” She said, cupping my face. My phone buzzed in my pocket, making me unclench my fists to pull it out. I looked down, squinting as I read that it was an unknown caller. “Who is it?” I growled over the phone. “Ho informazioni per te.” (Italian for “I have information for you.”) The muffled voice said. “Who the fūck is it?” I yelled as Samuel joined us. Dario motioned me to put it on speaker while he tried tracking the call. “Sai che non posso dirtelo.” (Italian for “You know I can't tell you.”) He hissed. “Che cazzo vuoi?” (Italian for “What the fūck do you want?”) I roared, feeling impatient with the asšhole. “I know you lost something.” He chuckled, making me bang my hands on the table. “But luck is on your side.” “If you don’t talk…” I said through clenched teeth. “It can’t be through phone.” He said as I heaved in anger. Danilo whispered in my other ear. “Don’t fall for it. For all we know, he doesn’t know shīt.” “I will contact you about a location.” He whispered before hanging up. “Leo, you can’t possibly—“ Danilo was asking me before I lifted my hand up. “I will do anything to find my wife.” I said through clenched teeth. “It could be a fūcking trap!” He shouted at me. “This isn’t like you!” “Watch your fūcking tone!” I said as I glared at him. He scoffed before walking away. “Anyone else wants to fūcking question my decisions?” I asked, looking around the room. I don’t want anyone joining me on my missions if they don’t agree with me. Danilo is fūcking lucky that he is like a brother or else I would have shot him on the spot. “Capo.” Carlos called me, making me turn to him. “We received intel about your aunt and cousin moving. They were seen in France.” “Let’s move. Make sure to keep an eye on them while we make it there.” I told him as he nodded before typing on his phone.
