*Lala’s POV* “And there.” The doctor said with a smile. “I’m so glad that you were the one with the injury and not him.” She said as she pointed over to Marcelo, who looked like he would pass out at any second. “Me too.” I giggled as I rolled my eyes playfully at him. “Can we leave?” Marcelo asked her after clearing his throat in embarrassment. “Not yet. I have to get one of the nurses to prepare the paperwork. Just wait here for the paperwork.” She said before turning to the door. “Wait!” I called to her before she turned around with a smile. “I really have to use the bathroom. I haven’t peed since I left Italy. Where is it?” I asked as I stood on my feet. Marcelo ran to my side to help me up. “Of course. Go all the way down the hall. Turn right and then left on your first hallway.” She said before she left, shaking her head at Marcelo. “I will carry you there.” He said as he bent over. “You will not.” I said, slapping his hand away. “I’m good as new. I will be right back.” I told him before pecking his lips. “Don’t take long or I will go look for you.” He said as I walked out the door, shaking my head. As soon as I was in the hallway, I forgot what the doctor told me. “Cazzo di merda.” (Italian for “Fūcking shīt.”) I muttered under my breath. I walked down the hall and looked both ways, sighing in annoyance. “They should really have maps in these places for people like me who forget everything.” I muttered as I took a left. I didn’t see anyone in the hallway that could help me, but I guess that I would eventually find it, so I just kept walking. My phone vibrated in my pocket, making me stop to look at it. When I looked at Leo’s name on the screen, I panicked. My heart started beating faster as I debated if I should answer or not. As soon as I answered the phone, I bumped into someone. “I’m sorry.” I whispered softly as I looked up from my phone. I had to do a double take before I gasped in shock. “Mya!” I shouted, making her eyes grow wide. “Who?” She asked, looking around. I tried to reach for her as she pulled back in panic. “Please leave me alone.” She said as her hands gripped onto her head. “Mya, it’s me.” I said with brows furrowed.” “I-I-I don’t know who you are. Please…just…” She stopped before she took off running. “Mya, wait!” I screamed after her. What the hell is going on? I heard shouting from my phone, reminding me that I had answered Leo’s call. “Hello?” I called as I looked down the hall. f**k, I lost her. “What the f**k, Lala! Why were you calling for Mya?” He asked in a panic. “Is she with you? Let me talk to her!” He said out of breath. He must be running or something. “No. I swear, Leo, that I just saw her though.” I told him as I ran down the hall that I thought I had seen her take off to. “I’m almost there.” He said through clenched teeth before hanging up the call. I shoved my phone in my pocket as I continued looking around the hospital in a hurry. She couldn’t have gotten far. I wanted to kick myself for letting her get away. I still can’t believe that I had her so close. I turned down the next hall, running right into Leo. “Where the f**k is my wife?” He asked, looking around the hall behind me. “I don’t know, Leo. She didn’t recognize me, but I’m certain it was her.” I told him as he gripped onto my arms. “Samuel should be in the room. Go to him.” He told me before turning. “Voglio che questo fottuto posto venga chiuso subito!” (Italian for “I want this fūcking place closed right away!”) He shouted at his men before pulling his gun out and cōcking it. “Riportiamo mia moglie.” (Italian for “Let’s bring my wife back.”) He told Eleazar as they both disappeared down the hallway. *Mya’s POV* I finally lost that crazy lady. I thought her voice sounded familiar, but as soon as she reached for me, I panicked. That must mean that she was dangerous, right? I ran right through the doors of the emergency exit when she was distracted. God, I hope she doesn’t find me. I quickly ran down the stairs. My heart was beating out of my chest as I reached for the door on the next floor. Right as I opened it, I came face-to-face with a tall built man in a suit. I looked into his hazel eyes before looking back at my feet. “Excuse me.” I mumbled as I tried to squeeze beside him. “I have been looking for you, baby.” He said as he reached to cup my face. “Don’t touch me!” I screamed as I slapped and punched against his chest. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer but at the same time locking my arms between us. “I’m sorry, baby girl. This is for your own good.” He whispered as I felt a needle enter my neck. “This—” I said weakly as my blinking got slower. “I don’t—” I said, feeling my tongue heavier. “Please.” I whimpered as darkness engulfed me.
