Ciara wasn't exactly sure what to do with her life. She's already graduated what exactly could she do now? She was currently working as a cashier in a grocery store. She wasn't particularly bothered by her job or hated it. Ciara was fine where she was currently, that's what she thought, anyway. "You leaving?" Serena, her best friend, asks her. "Yeah, I'm tryna get home before it gets dark." Ciara smiles, grabbing her coat. It's been a week since her high school graduation. "Aight. Text me when you get home." Serena, says, walking her to the door, saying her goodbyes. Ciara walks down the street. Going to the nearest bus station. She sees a man walking slow and stumbling. Ciara immediately assumed him to be drunk. That is, until he falls down in the middle of the road while a car is speeding down the road. Eyes widen slightly in shock, Ciara quickly runs over to him. The car swerving left and leaving. "Sir? Sir are you okay!?" Ciara couldn't help be scream, she's freaking out from the whole situation. The man's face is blue, he didn't look good. "SOMEONE HELP!" Ciara screams. Why the f**k was there no one on the street? "Okay... Okay. Call for a ambulance." Ciara quickly looks at her location on Google Maps and calls the police. She was scared, the man didn't seem like he was breathing anymore. First she should try and help him, the ambulance probably wouldn't make it in time. The sound of the woman on the otherside of the phone, sounded even more faded out through her adrenaline. Ciara decides to check the person's pockets and finds his wallet and a EpiPen, she drops her phone to hold the EpiPen. He's maybe having a allergic reaction? She opens his wallet to see his name. "Mr. Smith. Just hold on!" She didn't know how to work a EpiPen. Fuck it. "HELP! HELP! SOMEBODY HELP!" Ciara screams at the top of her lungs. "What's going on?" Someone quickly runs over to them. A woman. Ciara looks at her. "He collapsed! I don't know what to do!" "Did you call the police?" The woman asks throwing down her back and dropping to her knees to the man and started to check him. "Yes." Ciara nods. She watches as the woman put her fingers to his neck. Ciara eyes widen in realization. "I found this! But I don't know how to use it!" As she handed the woman the EpiPen, the woman immediately pops off the lid and stabs the man in the thigh. Ciara eyes widen and she jumps back in fear. Mr. Smith gasps, his lungs filling with air. "He's breathing again. Help me keep him down, he shouldn't get up. For future reference there's directions on EpiPens." "Oh. Oh shit." Ciara whispers, she felt stupid now. It was because she was panicking though. "What's his name? A relative of yours?" "Mr. Smith and no relation to me." Ciara responds. Sirens could be heard approaching. Ciara sighs in relief as paramedics put Mr. Smith on a stretcher. "His breathing is stable as of now. Take him to Unity Well Hospital, I'm a doctor there. I'll come with him." The woman says to one of the paramedics. Ciara looks at her for the first time, like actually looks. This woman was gorgeous, she had long locs, dark skin, almond eyes. She held a air of maturity to her. "Hey. Are you okay?" The woman asks Ciara. "Yeah... Yeah, I am. I'm sorry, I-" "You did good, yelling for help and you called the ambulance. You're good under pressure." The woman puts her hand on Ciara's shoulder and squeezes it, trying to comfort her. She gives her a gentle smile. "Good job." Ciara swore she heard angels singing. She looks up at woman. Who quickly got into the back of the ambulance. All she could do was look, her heart sped up. What was this? What was this feeling? Who was that gorgeous woman with that beautiful smile. ✺✺✺✺✺ Ciara has always been ambitious. When she put her mind to something, she always gets it done. Now, she could only work within reason, although. Ciara didn't want to be a doctor that was stressful and way outside her comfort zone and willingness to stay in school. So she went to nursing school at the age of 20. Fueled off just wanting to meet that woman again, wanting to see her face, her smile. That's all she wanted. Ciara spent 5 years of her life in nursing school. Graduated second in her class. She was determined to get a job at Unity Well Hospital. She just hoped that after these 7 years, that woman would still be working at the same hospital. Ciara didn't even know the gorgeous woman's name. She cursed herself everyday for not asking. For only sitting their looking like a deer in headlights as the woman rode off in a ambulance. Still, either way, she wants to do this. Even with the woman in mind, being a nurse isn't that bad. She gets to help people, that's more than enough for her. Even if she never sees the mystery Doctor again, at least she can help people and prepared for it. Walking through the automatic doors of UW. Ciara goes to the nurses station. She sees some people already there. She sees Kathie Lawrence, the girl who was the top of her school. Ciara admired her, she heard she came from a family of doctors and nurses. Ciara had two older siblings who are twins and a single mother. Her father died from a heart attack when she was 12. Maybe that's what made her want to be a nurse for the Coronary Care Unit. Ciara's been reading up on Unity Well hospital. Apparently one of the youngest Cardiothoracic doctors work here. They say she's a genius in the field and even graduated at a young age. Ciara has never seen a picture of her however. "Hi, I'm Ciara Brown." Ciara introduces herself to the other nurses, a smile on her face. Kathie looks at her surprised when she speaks. "Nice seeing you." "I didn't know you were going here." Ciara looks at her a little shocked. She's been pretty vocal about coming to UW so she's surprised Kathie never spoke about it... Well she never really spoke to Ciara anyway. "We have the top three students here." A man says. "Three?" Ciara asks, confusion written all over her features. She feels hands cover her eyes. "Surprise!" The hands were removed followed by a face popping into Ciara's field of vision. "Jack!? You should have told me you'd be working here!" Ciara says. Jack smiles. "Wanted to surprise you. I can't believe we all got the job here." "We're actually severely understaffed. And when the recruiters saw how the three top students at your school applied they jumped on it." The man from earlier spoke. "Manners, sorry." A woman speaks up. "We were just in the middle of introduction with Kathie. I'm Margret the head nurse. If you all need any help come to me." Margret smiles warmly at them. "It's always nice to see bright new faces." "I'm Xavier." The man introduces himself. "I handle all the gossip, just kidding." He jokes. "As if he's joking." One woman scoffs. "I'm Kassie." She greets them. "I'm Aaliyah." One girl looks up from a computer monitor. "I'm Jack Harlot! I'm really excited to be working with you all." "As am I." Kathie, who had already introduced herself says. Ciara nods in agreement. "I've read a lot about this place. Patience seem to love you and you all have a high success rate with surgeries. It's really amazing." As Ciara was talking something catches her eye. "Did we get a temperature check for the patient in room 9?" "Yes, Doctor Thompson. We checked around 9 o'clock. It was down." "That's good. Thank you." Ciara was looking in amazement. This was her, the woman she met all those years ago. Kathie and Jack seemed to be looking to as the Doctor walks away. "I see you all recognize her. That's Doctor Gabriella Thompson. The Miracle Doctor, as some people may say outside the hospital." Xavier comments. "But inside the hospital we call her the Devil herself." Ciara hadn't been paying attention to Xavier words. She was to busy staring at where Gabriella previously stood.
