Murdered by the Old Willow
- Luna, this is Stasi. Treat her with respect.
There was an unpleasant woman in red short dress near Ralph at the doorway, holding a small disgusting black fluffy pup in her hands.
- She will live in our house starting from now on, - added Ralph, smiling, hugged me lightly but somehow coldly and plopping down on the couch, ordered to me:
- Make tea for us both!
BOTH?! I could not understand anything. I was confused and shocked. It was known for me that Stasi was the widow of Ralph's brother.
Making green tea with lemon (Ralph's favourite) I was staying in the kitchen and tried to gather my thoughts.
My mate was sitting with Stasi in the drawing-room kissing her pup over and over. He was treating her pup like his own.
What is going on? My mate moved this insolent woman into our home. What does it mean? Oh, my God! Even a fool can understand the whole thing.
Now it is clear why Ralph visited his brother so often when he was alive. And as a rule came back home full of happiness and joy... Is Stasi my mate's lover? I could not believe!
I served the tea and left Ralph and Stasi in the drawing-room. I walked out of the house down the garden path with tears running upon my cheeks.
- Hey, don't you know where the Moon is? - I shuddered in panic but calmed down, seeing only a little boy near the garden fence.
- Pardon? - I looked at him attentively.
- Moon... There is no Moon in the sky for already three moths. Where is the Moon, Madam? The Moon disappeared and no one cares. People around are so strange... - the boy ran away muttering, - The Moon is away and nobody even noticed it.
I was feeling bad. Ralph came to my place and I decided to clear everything up.
- Why is SHE here? - I looked straight into his eyes. - Is Stasi your lover? Is this widow your new love?
- Not new in fact... - Ralph avoided looking at my face - she was... she is... she will be... there will be always a place for her in my heart.
My mate turned and went away, leaving me dying from deep sharp pain. I suddenly lost consciousness after falling onto the bench near the crooked old willow.
Widow has killed our little girl - the voices sounded in the darkness, - willow has killed our poor daughter...
I felt kind careful hands of my parents helping and supporting me. When I came to my senses slowly I appeared in my bedroom, covered with warm green blanket.
It was very cold in the room even frosty. The icy cold was coming through the open window with dark black sky whithout Moon...
