Chapter 20

Vanessa ran out of the room and rushed down the stairs looking for asking Mrs Tia. When she finally found her, she asked where the garbage of all the rooms upstairs were. She is told that it’s in the dustbin near the main gate.

"and when will It be cleared?"

Mrs Tia replies " It will get cleared at 5pm."

"Thank you".

I check my phone to see what the time was. It Is already 3.30 pm. I have to rush, I have that to hurry.

On the other hand, Valentino is tensed because the Lion pendrive is very important and had gotten missing. Angre kept on apologising for losing it.

"Angre. Check every single corner of the house. Everyone."

"Including every trash can In this Mansion".

Meanwhile Vanessa is about to get out of the house but Lisa, Valentino's mother stops her. The whole family was back to witness their Sons wedding which was no surprise.

"Stop" she shouts out. Vanessa stops and turns around to look at who the was calling out to her.

"Mom?"

"Yes It's me Vanessa"

"What are you doing out here when everyone Is getting ready?" Lisa half yelled as she approached Vanessa who was by the door.

"Vanessa you should go and get ready for your engagement party" She places her hand around Vanessa's shoulder and starts walking them both In the direction of the stairs.

"Mom, I will get ready in a while".

"And why not now?" She stops walking and looks at Vanessa.

"There is nothing more important than her wedding for you right?". Vanessa gives her a smile.

"I don't want anybody In this world to hurt my son Valentino"

"Vanessa, you are not an employee or just anyone In this house. You are going to become the daughter-in-law of this family so you should act accordingly". Vanessa just kept looking at her with a smile on her face.

"I am Valentino's mother but just so you know not even the great Valentino Rusello's mother is allowed to break his rules so you should realize that she has no right to do that too."

"So now you'll go up to your room and get ready" Vanessa nods yes and started going up the stairs.

"And by the way..." Vanessa turns around to look at Lisa.

" You should know that I'm keeping an eye on you". She chuckles and Vanessa smiles back at her going up to her room.

She walks away still with the thought that she has to get the Lion from garbage at any cost before It's taken away.

At the police station, Ken sees Vanessa and Valentino’s wedding news on the newspaper and gets enraged.

He knows that it is a new trap for Vannesa by Valentino. He is enraged and worried.

"I have to stop this wedding at any cost" Ken shouts as he tore the newspaper Into pieces.

He gets up from his sit storming out In rage to stop this when his colleague stops him asking him to control himself as he may risk his own and Vanessa’s life.

"What else shall I do?"

"You really don't expect me to sit back and watch Vanessa get married to a criminal." He runs his hand through his hair.

"Vanessa is not even a trained spy. She Is just a sensitive girl. I wonder what she is going through and how she must be handling all this." He stays quiet for a while thinking to himself.

"I have to stop this wedding and talk somehow talk to Vanessa because the mission can’t cost Us this much."

V.R Mansion.

"I would not just let another person put a ring on my finger In front of the whole world" I secretly hoped the media wouldn't be there at the party as Valentino I s buisness tycoon that was well known. It would be of no surprise that his wedding would want to be covered by big media houses.

"I have to think of a way to keep my promise as the only Ring I could ever wear should only be Ken's" I suddenly get an Idea as I saw the Iron that was on the other side of the room.

I take the Iron and plugged It In the socket. When It got hot Inhaling deeply I pressed the Iron to my hand.

I tried mumbling my screams as hard as possible but I wasn't really successful. I put the Iron away as I whimpered.

On the other hand, Valentino wonders who can be Interested in the Lion pendrive. Most Importantly he thought of who dared to get into his secret room.

He goes to Vanessa's room and lightly knocks the door.

"Come on In. It's unlocked"

"Why haven't you gotten ready yet?". Valentine's voice make her look up. She hides her burnt hand behind her.

"Is there something you need that you think I would not be able to give?".

"There Is no need to worry and by the way I don’t take time to get ready".

Valentino noticed how she wasn't letting one of her hands off her back and found It oddly strange.

"Show me the hand you're hiding at your back." Vanessa shows her burnt hand.

"Sit down." Valentino Orders.

Vanessa sits on the bed. Valentino gets the first aid box and gives It to her. He sits in front of her and watches her do her first aid treatment.

"It seems like you are enjoying this pain." Valentino comments.

"There is an old bond between love and pain and to understand such deep things, you need to have heart and love inside that heart." Vanessa replies him.

"I have to get ready. I think you can leave now". Valentino stands up but before walking away he asks her a question.

"Why did you burn you hand Intentionally?"

"I was Ironing my dress and then by mistake, the hand got burnt."

"There are tons of servants for all this."

"I just find peace in doing my work by myself, be it ironing or handling her pain." Valentino leaves the room and Vanessa shuts the door behind him.

Later, Vanessa walks downstairs thinking to herself that she had just half an hour left to get the Lion. Everybody looks at Vanessa as she walks down the stairs dressed in her fitted black gown. The gown held unto her body and clinged on her every curves. Valentino stares at her. Everybody that needed to be present for the party was here except the media. Well that Is surprising.

"She doesn’t deserve such a costly designer dress and I'm sure that she must be feeling uncomfortable." Kim comments. Valentino was speechless. Vanessa and Valentino look at each other. Their gaze are locked on each other.
