Chapter 19

Vanessa's pov

I was searching for clues, any clue that could help me that I'd find. I reached a cupboard In the room but It was locked.

After looking around hopelessly I find a key. I open the cupboard.

Valentino called both Kim and Sia down to the house Compound. As soon as they got out of the house Valentino holds the key to a car up In the air.

"I got you a red car but when I heard you say your choice was Black I went back and changed It"

"You can have It" he threw the Keys In her direction.

"This Is my dream car brother" she said looking at tge keys and smiling.

"Thank you..." She screamed and ran to hug me.

"I'm also your sister Valentino" Sia called him out playfully as she chuckled.

"I could never forget that"He walked over to her and stood behind her wheelchair.

"Now lets get you your gift" He wheeled her back Into the house and to the direction of her room.

In Sia's room I get a phone call. Buisness call.

"I'd just answer this and be back Sia" She nods her head and I walk to my study.

On his way to his study he hears a sound. He goes In to check where the sound came from.

I finally open the cupboard but then I hear footsteps of someone approaching. Valentino walks In an looks around. He checks his table. He walks to the cupboard and at this point all I could do was pray.

He raises his hand and holds the handle but Just as he was about to pull, Siya calls out to him.

Valentino leaves.

I finally relaxed. I pushed the cupboard door to go out but I couldn't. I was locked inside. After a while, couldn't breathe properly, I was suffocating.

" Ken, I'm feeling suffocated" I then rememberd ken asking me to trust him so I closed my eyes and kept breathing.

I tried thinking of only happy memories.

I remembered when myself and Ken were together on the beach last Summer. Everything was just so lovely. I smiled to myself. I recalled one key lesson Ken told me about.

"Always remember Vanessa that our fear is just a game of our mind. Don’t let It ever overcome you"

"Vanessa don't let It overcome you" I exhaled loudly.

"Think about how you can come out of this problem".

I relaxed my mind and think of how I can open the door. I got an Idea.

I pull out a hair pin and tried using It to open the lock. The door gets unlocked. I come out.

" Ken’s love is my strength". I thought to myself. I heard footsteps again of someone approaching.

" I think someone is coming and I can’t give Valentino a chance to get me". A lion fell down when I came out of the cupboard and I picked it up but as I was In panic, It falls into the dust bin but I couldn't wait to look for It or I could get caught so In a hurry I leave It behind.

I get out of there safely without getting caught.

I went to the kitchen to prepare something to eat as I was exhausted.

"I couldn't even get any clue, I have to try again".

"I have to do something".

I was so lost In my thoughts that I had forgotten I was cooking. I used my bare hands unknowingly to lift up the hit pot from the gas cooker. I shouted when It burnt me. I guess Valentino wasn't too far away because as I had burnt my hand he came running to the kitchen.

He holds my hands and put them under the running tap and tells me not to move. He walks to the cabinet and gets the first aid box. He applies the ointment on the areas with burns. I just stared at him.

Sometimes he acts like a monster and I hate gim to the core but then sometimes he behaves like, like a completely different person. He looks back at me and we have an eyelock. It was at moments like this In the movies where by the music begins to play for the hero and heroine.

"What happened?" I asked

"I offered you help, a thank you would be enough" I rolled my eyes at him. He looks away.

"What thoughts are you so lost In that you got your hand burnt? . Thinking about the marriage?".

" Definitely. Everything is happening just like a dream".

"And dreams should be beautiful, right?" He says giving me Roses.

"Roses, Its said that this flower Is connected to love"

" I know we had a bad start but I wanted to do something romantic for my would be wife as you deserve such kind of love". "Starry night, moon, rose….."

"I'm glad to know that you are interested in roses and love, but I hope you know that the Roses aren’t alone. There are thorns on It which know only about how to hurt"

"You need to know alot more than just giving pain or bearing the pain. Prepare yourself, somethings hurt in love as well, they hurt a lot but anyways" I put my hand up "give it".

Valentino gets pricked by a rose thorn.

"You just got hurt by a little thorn". I keep a pity full face.

"You really think I don’t know the meaning of love?".

"Of course V. Love isn’t just romantic gestures but It wants many sacrifices. It Isn't just about candle light dinners but being together even in pain". I think of Ken.

"Love isn’t happiness of some moments but its a lifetime commitment. Love is peace and passion too, It's also darkness and light, its pain and cure, its a soul and It's blessing and Its life and death too."

Valentino just looks at me.

Valentino gets a call from Angre. Angre tells him that the the lion pendrive isn’t in the secret room anymore.

Valentino's pov

"What? how can it disappear Angre". I go over to the cupboard to check It myself.

"I have checked it well boss but who can dare to go there?" "We have to get Lion. Its really important as it has the power to destroy me."

Vanessa Is by the door and hears their conversation. She thinks to herself about who or what Lion could be. Could It be any code word? but then she recalls getting the golden lion.

"It means that all the proof I needed were in it, I was so close" I have to find the Lion. It will get me both my freedom and the end of Valentino. She goes In and looks for the keys after they both had left but then she recalls Valentino’s words that It was gone. She then remembered that It had fallen Into the bin. She checks the bin but It was empty. Someone had thrown the garbage out.
