Chapter 16

Danika's pov

I was getting bored of sitting In my room all morning.

I wasn't able to focus my mind on the book I picked up to read. T wasn't getting any younger and he still didn't want to consider getting married.

He was so Into his work that he didn't even look after himself properly. I didn't like that.

Sometimes, I wished he hadn't Involved himself In this kind sort of buisness and just lived with his family but Valentino was ready to sacrifice everything just for his family to stay happy.

Speaking on that I don't think Kimberly did betray Valentino because If she did, he would have been gratly hurt.

Even If he plays to be a man without emotions, he just couldn't hide them from me. I could read his emotions. I watched him grow up, I was there at every step so even If no-one else caught unto his feelings, I did, I will and I'll always do.

T knows It. He definitely knows that Kimberly didn't betray him. She wouldn't turned against him just for the sake of greed or any other foolish reason.

Sometimes I wonder If April's disappearance that came all of a sudden still had great effects on him.

That night when she didn't show up to dinner, T received a call from her and left to meet her without saying anything to us except that we carry out our dinner plans without them. He said they had to deal with something really urgently and he just left.

He returned after a day without April and he was devastated. He sent men out to look for her only after I had restricted him from going out. After 5 days of looking non-stop he returned only to set out again and I just couldn't let him go out In that state.

Days, Weeks and Months went by and we still heard no news of April. Even the police had no lead on her whereabouts.

T said nothing more than It was Important to find her. He said nothing much about the phone call he received from her before he went out either.

'She called to meet up for a surprise I think' was all he said to the me, the police and her family.

Till date we haven't found a clue about where she was or what had suddenly happened to April.

Even after a year, I still believe that T knew alot more than he told to us all.

I heard a knock on my door.

Earlier, I had suddenly remembered the beautiful flowers I had seen on my way back home yesterday afternoon.

The man I had sent to get them was the one by my door.

"Ma'am your flowers have arrived"

"They're In the garden" he bowed his head a little.

"Thank you" I replied before he walked away.

I went out of the mansion and went Into the room where all the equipments where kept. I put on the gloves and an apron. I took with me any other tool that I knew I'd need to make use of.

I got working Immediately I found a spot that seemed perfect. I hummed to a song and even danced a bit. For a while I entirely forgot about T's marriage Issue.

I had finished transplanting and watering the roots of the plants. I turned around to pick up the cutter I'd use on the ground to trim the plants when I felt the presence of someone. It was T.

"T do you need something?" I asked pulling the gloves out from my hands. I also removed the apron and placed it on the chair that was closest to us.

"Is something wrong?" I used my palms to smoothen my dress and looked up at him as T was way taller than me.

"I see you've gone planting again" He said gesturing towards the new plants and the tiny empty pots on the ground.

"I just happened to see them on my way home yesterday and I felt that they'll really look good In the garden."

"They'd would make the garden even more beautiful".

T was quiet and I knew something was - not right?

I wasn't sure what this was about and I had no Idea but I was sure that It was really Important.

"Grandma, I came here to tell you something" he finally broke the silence.

"I'm ready to get married to Vanessa". I was speechless.

Vanessa's pov

I walked Into the building and all I wanted was just to walked up to my door, get In my room and lay on my bed. I wanted to get lost In my dreams and maybe just maybe this may also actually turn out to be another nightmare

I could even dream of finally having a happy ending with this case of April's disappearance and Valentine's Involvement In It solved and closed. My Marriage with Kenneth going smoothly and then getting a happy ending.

I walked up the stairs deep In thoughts to my rooms without me even realising It. When I got In, I just let my bag fall of my arm as I walked towards my bed and let myself fall on It.

Everything's a mess, nothing turned out as easy as I thought It would. Nothing even made sense. What would have been the reason Valentino would have killed April?

Maybe because as his fiance, she found out something she shouldn't have?

If that was the case then I'm also In danger here.

I'm sure Ken knew of this and If he still let me stay here, he will definitely not let anything happen to me during my time of stay here

I need a glass of water.

I looked at my Jug but I was out of water. I stood up, walked towards my bedside table and picked the jug up. I walked out off to the kitchen.

Grandma was In there preparing something for her dinner I guess. There wouldn't be any other time perfect for this. I could tell her, I should Indeed tell her, I might not get another time as perfect as this.

I walked up to her.

"Grandma"I smiled warmly at her.

"You're back" she smiled back at me warmly.

"I've been In for a while grandma" I replied.

"Oh Okay" and tgen the kitchen went quiet.

"Grandma" I spoke up.

"Uh-hum" she answered looking up at me

"I have something to tell you "

"I also do. but you fo first ".

"Grandma, I've decided" I looked at her face for any emotion.

"Grandma, I give my consent to this marriage".
