Chapter Twenty-Seven   The sound of his humming voice made her calm and relax. It’s like he’s using some kind of magic that made her feel at peace despite him being a mortal. Celine glance at him but then their eyes met, making her look away from him. “Master, is this some kind of flirt?” she asks. “Maybe, it all depends on how you see it,” Mathew uttered and chuckled. “I didn’t know that master can sing very well, may I know what you sing a while ago?” she asks changing the topic. “Nothing, I just invented it,” he answered and smiled at her. “Oh,” she mumbled. “Tell me, Celine, how do you feel tonight?” Mathew asks in a gentle voice. They stop from dancing but he never let go of her hand. “I…can’t tell,” Celine answered. “It's fine,” Mathew replied. “Why do you keep on asking me that kind of question?” Mathew glance at her and smiled. “I’m sorry if I annoyed you, but I just want to know if I made you happy this time,” he uttered. “Master, there’s no need for you to go that far.” “I understand, but let me at least do something I can for you before the end of this world,” Mathew said. “…Just live and I’ll do my best to stop the end,” Celine replied. He smiled at her. “You’re not an outcast Celine, you’re a hero,” Mathew uttered as he eyed the lake. “No, I’m not.” He gazes back at her whose emotionless emerald eyes are staring at the nothingness. “I am not a hero, because a hero has a reason for saving everyone, while I have none,” she whispered enough for him to hear, “But if you’ll ever ask, the hero is not supposed to be me, but you, because you have every reasons to fight, master,” Celine continued to say. “How…How can you say that Celine? Everyone in this world is lost, every single heart is wandering to find a reason to move forward,” Mathew replied still staring at her. “Master please don’t be blind. You have it with you, just open your eyes and look behind,” Celine responded and stared back at him, “However, in my case, no matter where I look or where I go, there’s nothing I could find but you. Whatever you decided me to do, will be my own reason to move. Your goal will be my free will. So tell me, master, tell me, what will you do next?” “Let’s save this world together.” “Yes, we will.”     All of a sudden, the ground began to shake as Mathew and Celine fell on the floor. A bolt of sudden lightning occurred yet there was no sign of a coming storm, a strong wind began to blow, so strong that the trees started to bend. “…The greenhouse!” she shouted. “It’s strong enough to stand earthquakes!” Mathew shouted back, “But the glasses!—"   Her hand started to glow and then she slammed the ground with her both palms. The earthquake stops, but the strong wind prolonged. Despite the strong wind both of them stands from the dirty ground but the greenhouse was suddenly covered by a barrier. They run towards it, Mathew walks through but Celine couldn’t. “Celine!” Mathew called as he draws his sword trying to break the barrier but it only repelled his attack. “Master! Don’t waste your strength! This barrier is made to stand against me! Go and save the rest! I will find my way to break this!” Celine announced. Mathew nod and started to run away. “Master!” she called him again. Mathew heard her call and stops from running as he glance back at her. “Don’t ever die!” “I will not!” Mathew shouted in response and continued to run away from her.   The wind blew stronger than before making it hard for her to stand firmly on the ground. Her gown was heavy for her at the moment so she use all her strength to cut it using her bare hands. “That’s why I shouldn’t wear this kind of clothes!” she yelled in irritation. Both of her hands started to glow and she successfully cut the skirt of her gown with a length just above her knees. She waves her hand and the strong wind stops. “As expected to you,” A voice uttered. She look for the owner of the voice but it wasn’t around her, and then she lifted her head to see someone floating from above.               Mathew entered the greenhouse and saw everyone taking cover under the table. Casis approaches him. “Your majesty!—” “Is there any injured?” he asks cutting his words. “There’s none your majesty,” Casis answered. “Where are Nathan and Allen?” “They were securing the other guests while your aide, Lucas, was securing your family, your majesty,” Casis uttered. The door banged closed making their gazes focus on it. A demon with a body of a giant spider has the heads of two ladies who have only one mouth located between their necks and were grinning at them as it entered the greenhouse. “Ah, the good thing is, everyone is still here,” the unexpected guest said as it eyed Mathew and Casis. “…Your majesty,” Casis uttered with a shocked expression. “We have to evacuate everyone,” Mathew whispered. Fortunately, Nathan and Allen approach them. Allen eyed the monster with his eyes wide open. “What the heck is that?!” Nathan asks in a surprised expression. “Stop asking a question right now Nathan,” Allen whispered angrily as his right-hand grips his bow tightly still not breaking his stare from the monster. “Nathan, Casis, evacuate everyone right now,” Mathew commanded and then he eyed Allen beside him, “Allen and I will destruct that demon.” “However, you must do it quickly and secretly attack it from behind,” Mathew continued. “Yes your majesty,” Casis answered, as both he and Nathan run towards the guests leaving Mathew and Allen. “Your majesty, we must find its weak spot,” Allen uttered. “Yes, we will, however, it will take time. Be at your fullest alert Allen, we don’t have any idea about that thing but the fact that it’s not a monster but a demon,” Mathew replied. “You can count on me your majesty,” Allen answered. “No, no, everyone should be here longer,” the demon announced. “I am the head of this event, so everything will be done according to my plan,” Mathew replied, “And you, demon, who is not invited should either go back to your place or die here and never return at all,” he continued as he started to attack it. The monster jump backward and crawled to the ceiling. “Oh, don’t be silly, the one who should be the one running is you, little boy,” the demon responded. Allen who was hiding behind the pillar started to use his weapon and shot arrows aiming at the demon but it was able to avoid his attacks destroying the ceiling making the glasses break. There were shards of broken glasses falling from above, Mathew uses his weapon and wave his sword making the falling shards into ashes. “Hmm, I see that both of you have holy weapons,” the demon uttered and then grinned at them, “Then it will be a worthy fight after all!” it declared followed by its hysterical laugh. “I’m sorry mother, it seems like this place will be messed,” Mathew whispered to the thin air as he started to attack again but the demon was able to dodge it. Allen who changes his location started to shoot his arrows again but before he could aim, the demon let out a sticky web from its wide mouth that pinned him and slammed his back on the glass wall making him groan in pain. “Allen!” Mathew shouted worriedly and tried to run towards him. To his surprise, the demon landed beside him and started to attack throwing Mathew to the other side. Mathew spits blood because of the impact. “Your majesty!” Allen screams and then angrily stares at the demon, “Damn you!” he yelled and tried to shove off the sticky web pinning him. “You can’t escape from that web silly man, that’s part of my curse!” the demon revealed grinning and crawling closer to him, “Now you’ll be the first one to die,” it whispered.
