CHAPTER 4

554 Words
Morning came and Amara was already up and ready to go to school. She didn't know why she was excited to see Elijah's face again when he didn't even know her. But she, herself, had a clear goal this time. She wanted to be in the same section as him. Am I sort of desperate? Amara thought. Well, he was my husband in my world. She added. "I'm going to school mom!" Amara shouted as she took her exit in their house. "Honey isn't it a bit too early?" Amara stopped on her track as she looked back at her mom's familiar face. She can't help but to walk back towards her mother and embrace her lovingly. She was somehow glad when she went home last night and found out that she had the same family as she was in her world. "I have to finish my assignment at school mom. So it's not too early." Amara answered even though she didn't have any assignment to work on. "Well at least eat some breakfast." was her mom's reply. "I'll just buy at school." says Amara as she took off. The moment Amara arrived at her school, it was still pretty early, so she decided to go to the library to pass time and see if she can find out anything useful about her school or maybe about Elijah. While walking at the aisle in the library, scrolling through the shelves, Amara can't help but feel like she was with him. Elijah loves to read books. She sometimes gets jealous just because he was giving more attention to his books than her. Now that she thought about that, she somehow found it funny. Amara takes random books and sits at the nearest table she can find. Doing a little reading would pass some time. Amara didn't know how and when, but she totally fell asleep while she was reading. She was awakened by a light tap on her shoulder. *tap* *tap* *tap* "Ms?" A deep voice says. Huh? Did I doze off? Amara wondered as she slowly opened her eyes and looked at the person standing in front of her table. She was a bit disoriented at first, not fully seeing her surroundings with her sleepy watery eyes. "Sorry, is it already 7:30?" Amara asked with a soft voice while clearing her vision and stretching her aching back and her stiff neck. She heard a light chuckle followed by a deep voice saying it's way past 7:30. Amara was totally awaken by the replied she got and immediately got up from her sit. But due to the fact that she was sitting for too long without moving, her legs were paralyzed for a moment causing her to loose her balanced and almost stumbled on the ground. She felt someone grab her hand and pulled her body closer. "Are you okay miss?" She heard that deep voice again. This time much closer to her. Now that she thought about it, that voice sounded so familiar. Amara looked up to see her 'rescuer'. The moment her eyes landed on his, Amara was frozen on the spot. Her heart beat faster. She had a hard time catching her breath. Amara can't believe that she was face to face with the man she always love and longed for. Elijah.
