Minutes later the bell rang and Amara and Calliah were already walking towards the hallway that leads through the school's cafeteria.
The hallway was busy, full of students chattering and laughter, but those noises slowly faded into the background when Amara once again saw that guy's familiar figure.
From afar, Amara can tell that the guy was tall, and the guy was walking towards their direction.
As the figure slowly walks towards them, Amara's heart begins to pound.
*thud*
*thud*
*THUD*
*THUD*
*THUD*
It beats faster and faster like her heart is gonna jump out of her chest.
She swears that if Calliah would move a little closer to her side she'd surely hear her loud beating heart.
She gulped when the guy was already a few meters near her.
She tried to look at the guy's face, trying to figure out why she felt something odd, something familiar with this guy.
The moment Amara saw that guy's face, her eyes widened, she was totally shocked by what she saw.
She didn't notice that she stopped walking and was frozen in the middle of the hallway.
"Elijah"
She whispered softly.
Her tears were streaming down her face.
Memories of him flashed through her memories.
Elijah, the man she loved so much in her world.
Though he's face looked so much younger than she remembered, Amara can still recognize that face.
She can't believe that he's here.
Amara felt like they were once again reunited after he died.
"Elijah!"
Amara called out, her voice was on the verge of breaking as she muffled her cries.
But the moment she recovered, the man was already on the other end of the hallway.
She tried calling again but her voice was drowned by the students loud chattering.
Amara tried to follow behind the guy's figure but he's already gone.
"Amara!"
Calliah called out when she saw that her friend was not behind her back.
Then she saw Amara running in the opposite direction, making her wonder what the hell has gotten of her friend's odd behavior.
Calliah followed Amara and held her shoulder.
"Amara! Why aren't you following me? You made me look like a fool, I thought I was talking to someone but you left me!"
Calliah complained with a pout.
Amara was brought back to reality.
"I-I'm sorry. I was...I.. I thought I saw someone I know."
She replied, stammering.
"Who?"
Calliah curiously asked while looking over the surroundings.
"He's gone."
Amara answered, pulling away Calliah's arm from her shoulder as they started to walk towards the cafeteria.
"Oh! He's a he."
Calliah commented with a gossiping grin plastered on her face. Clearly interested in the conversation they're having.
"What."
Amara said with a nonchalant look.
She doesn't want to talk about Elijah right now. Not now that she doesn't have a clue of what's happening in the first place.
She wasn't even sure if Elijah knew her in this world, or the fact that she existed.
But she know...she will one way or another, find out everything about him.
'There's nothing wrong about it. Right?'
Amara thought.
