We trudged along in the perfect white stillness for a couple of hours, the only sound breaking the silence being the muffled crunch as our snowshoes hit the surface of the snow. I must admit, I was getting a little bored. Like a child on a trip with their parents, I asked that question. “Are we nearly there, yet?” I had no idea where there was – as usual, I had no idea where we were going. Suddenly I noticed a change in the appearance of the ground ahead of us. It was a lot smoother than the snow we’d been walking on. I pointed at it. “What’s wrong with that snow, Sestra?
