The kitchen was a mess.
Zara was washing dishes with angry hands. Water was splashing everywhere. Her eyes were still red from last night but now there was fire in them too.
"Slave work," she muttered. "I studied 16 years for this?"
"Talking to yourself?"
Orhaan’s voice came from behind. Cold. Sharp.
Zara turned around, dripping water on the floor. "Yes. Because no one else listens here."
Orhaan stepped closer. His jaw was tight. "Watch your tone. This is my house. My rules."
"Your rules?" Zara threw the towel on the counter. "You kidn*pped me and now you want rules? I’m not your maid, Orhaan Khan!"
The word "kidn*pped" hit him like a slap.
Orhaan’s eyes went dark. He slammed his hand on the counter. The sound echoed in the kitchen.
"Don’t say that word again," he growled. "You don’t know anything."
"I know enough!" Zara shouted back. She was shaking but she didn’t stop. "I know you’re cruel. I know you have no heart. And I know I hate you!"
Silence.
For 3 seconds, the only sound was both of them breathing hard.
Orhaan came even closer. Too close. Zara could smell his cologne. She didn’t back away.
"Then leave," he said in a low, dangerous voice. "The door is not locked. Go."
Zara’s throat burned. "And go where? You ruined my life!"
"Then fix it yourself."
He turned to leave but stopped at the door. Without looking back he said,
"And clean this mess. Before 12. Or there will be no lunch. For either of us."
The door closed. Hard.
Zara stood there, tears and anger mixing together. She punched the counter.
"Damn you, Orhaan Khan. Damn you."
But her hands were shaking.
Not just from anger.
