CHAPTER 11
“Wow! This place is amazing. Ryker! We’ll come back here, okay? Or maybe for our next reunion, we’ll come back here too. What do you guys think?” Rowela couldn’t help but said it with excitement.
I mean, we were all in a resort in Cebu for our reunion, and we were all amazed because none of us paid anything. Everything was free, thanks to Ryker. His aunt and uncle said it was free, so we were all so happy. Imagine? We could enjoy two nights and three days exploring their famous resort here.
Even our fares were discounted, so not only were we happy, but our parents were also happy.
Except for me, because Ryker even paid for everything for me, he even bought my ticket. Can you believe that? Imagine, Ryker Matt Sullivaño knows how to spend money for me. I thought he could only afford to treat me to halo-halo, but I can also borrow money from him to buy books.
“Do you like it here?” I smiled at Sebastian, who was just beside me.
“I love it!” I answered him.
“Good!” he said. He guided me to sit on a long wooden bench, and so did our other classmates, while some of my other classmates were busy taking selfies.
Since Sebastian was our friend since high school, he was here and joined us. Some classmates from other courses or Sebastian’s classmates also joined, some didn’t because they weren’t allowed or didn’t have the budget, though I felt sorry for them because they wanted to come but couldn’t afford it. It would be awkward if I asked Ryker.
It would be embarrassing if I did that. It would be okay if this resort was mine or if my aunt or grandpa owned it, then maybe I could ask.
“Guys! They said we should put our things in our rooms where we’ll be sleeping later,” we heard Janice say. It was already ten in the morning when we arrived.
“Okay!” we answered together, and we all laughed because it wasn’t obvious that they were excited to swim or have fun and do other activities at my friend-enemy’s resort.
We all stood up from our seats in the gazebo and went to the big house made of bamboo or Nara wood. There was also a swimming pool if you didn’t want to swim in the sea, where you could clearly see the clear blue sea from where we were.
“Let’s go!” I don’t know why I was happy now that Sebastian was beside me, and it felt like we were always together or close to each other since earlier.
The other one, I don’t know where he went. Maybe he went inside to talk to the staff there because they had guests, and that was us.
Of course, who am I to say no when this is what I want, to be noticed and liked by my crush, Sebastian. Good thing Ryker wasn’t around to bother us.
“I’ll take this, I can handle it,” I said, referring to my duffel bag I was carrying, where I put my things and clothes for three days.
“I insist!” I couldn’t do anything because he already took the bag from my hand.
“Thank you! Next time, I’ll carry whatever you have,” I said smiling. My cheeks were already getting hot, and I’m sure I looked like a tomato.
“Sure! But I won’t let you carry anything,” he said, then messed up my hair again, and I pouted because I was really getting flustered by what he said.
He’s handsome, smart, and a gentleman. I’m really lucky to have the one and only engineer of my eyes as my crush.
“Come here, bruha, don’t go to the guys,” Rowela called me. Why? Did she think Sebastian and I were going to the same room right away? That crazy girl.
“Thanks!” I said to Sebastian when we got to the girls’ room.
“You’re welcome, call me if you need something, alright?” I smiled because of what he said.
“Thanks a lot, Sebastian,” I repeated and went into the room after saying goodbye.
Because there were more girls, we were divided into four rooms, and only two for the boys. They said they’d just squeeze into one room.
“The witch blushing, ayeeh! Her crush escorted her!” Rowela teased while poking my cheek. I was surprised that she was already in front of me, and she was just waiting for me to go inside to investigate.
“I’m blushing even more! Because finally, you know, we’re going to the exciting parts.”
“Exciting parts? Like… ”
“Like him becoming my boyfriend before we go back to our province, my dear,” I said proudly.
Rowela crossed her arms with a smirk on her lips while looking at me. “Don’t tell me you’re going to give your ‘ virginity’ to him while we’re still here, is that it, Aubree Lynn Corpez?”
“What? What are you talking about? I’m too young for that, so don’t!”
“Tell it to the turtle, you crazy girl!” she said laughing. I don’t know why I’m friends with this girl, she knows too much. “Take it slow, someone might get angry! I know something you don’t know, and if I’m right, I don’t know who you’ll choose between the two,” she said. I just shrugged because I didn’t know what Rowela was talking about.
I was about to say something, but our female classmates started arriving, and they each looked for where to put their things and where they would sleep. There were four double decks in each room.
“Let’s hurry, they said we’ll eat first before we swim or go sightseeing,” I heard Mona say.
They all ran out of the room. They were obviously excited, huh?
I fixed my things first. I chose the spot on the bottom so it would be easier for me to go out if I needed to pee or get a drink at night, and Rowela was on top.
My light brown crop top and short pants still looked okay, so I’ll change into new clothes later. I don’t care if Ryker sees me wearing this again. Earlier at the pier, his face was unreadable when he saw my outfit, and he even wanted me to change, so if he was annoyed, I was even more annoyed because he was interfering with my clothes. I don’t interfere with what he wears.
“Let’s go, witch!” Rowela invited me. The girls were so excited that they went out of the room first, leaving Rowela and me.
“If we have time, let’s go to the malls and see what’s different between the malls here and ours,” my friend suggested.
We were walking towards the gazebo while holding hands because that’s where they’d eat lunch, and I think it’s a perfect idea, especially since it’s windy today even though the weather is hot.
“Which mall here is nice? They’re all the same as the malls in our place and here,” I said.
“You never know, maybe we’ll find a nice mall. I know a big mall here owned by the Baltimoore, and you know, girl, their only son is a model. Imagine, he’s a model since high school, and maybe we’ll pass by,” she said, so I just shook my head.
“Is that the one… the one… wait, I already have his face in my mind, but I can’t remember his name. But they also have their own mall in our place, right? And there’s a tarpaulin posted outside that mall,” I said.
“Yeah! That’s Ignacio Baltimoore, he’s handsome, right?”
“Yeah, but Sebastian is more handsome,” I said while smiling, but Rowela narrowed her eyes at me again. She’s like that, she always wants to catch me.
“Are you sure about that, that Sebastian is really the most handsome for you?”
“Of course!” I answered without hesitation.
“You’re not sure!” she laughed, so our classmates and batchmates looked at us. That crazy girl. She must be crazy and needs to see a psychiatrist.
“Here!” I didn’t know which plate to take because both Ryker and Sebastian handed me a plate and spoon as soon as I sat down on the chair in the gazebo.
I smiled at them both, so neither of them would get upset, so I took the plate from Ryker because he was the first to hand it to me, and I took the spoon and fork from Sebastian’s hand.
“Okay? No one’s going to get upset now?” I asked while smiling. They looked at each other and turned to me, then flicked my forehead.
“Ouch! Yah! You two are so bullies!” Instead of pitying me, they laughed at me. They’re really crazy.
“Do you want us to put food on your plate, dear princess?” Ryker said while standing with his hands on his hips. I rolled my eyes because I was about to get annoyed.
“I’m not crippled!” I answered and immediately stood up to get food from the table where different kinds of dishes were lined up for lunch today.
The idiots followed.
“Don’t eat all meat, you should eat a lot of vegetables!” Ryker said.
“That’s why-” Sebastian interrupted and went to the other table.
“I don’t want to, let me eat these for now because we only get to cook like this at home sometimes. Get it?” I said, referring to the dishes in the food warmer.
“Even if you don’t, eat vegetables so your boobs will grow!” I glared at him and slapped his shoulder, and the i***t just laughed and moved away from me so I wouldn’t kick him.
“Hey! Even if they’re small, at least they’re breathing. You eat a lot of vegetables so you can be even more macho!” I said angrily.
“Even if I’m not macho, Miss Corpez, I can plow the field to give you a dozen children.” He whispered in my ear.
Because I understood what he was whispering, I threw the tissue roll from the table at him.
“Your mouth is so foul, Sullivaño!” I said angrily.
“Foul now, delicious later,” he said and laughed. Instead of getting fish fillet, I put down my plate and chased after this rude guy.
“Hey! Eat first before you run!” David, our classmate, shouted.
“Move aside if you don’t want me to push you. I just have to crush a bee!” I said and ran when he moved aside.
Because I saw Ryker where I was, I ran to catch him.
“Run baby run don’t ever look back!” The i***t even sang while swaying his hips and holding a plate in one hand.
“You’re in trouble if I catch you, you bee!” I shouted.
I ran to catch him. Good thing the i***t stopped. See… good thing he pitied me because I was already out of breath and we were a little far from their resort.
But this guy is really a jerk because I thought I was about to catch him, but he immediately ran away from me. “I hate you!” I shouted and just closed my eyes while stomping in anger, especially because I was hungry. “I’ll eat you alive, Ryker Matt Sullivaño!” It was the first day, but I was already so annoyed with this guy.
“I’m willing to let you eat me, Aubree Lynn-”
“Oh s**t! Ahhh Ryker!” I shouted in surprise because he suddenly appeared behind me, and at the same time, we fell on the sand. Good thing I didn’t fall on the sand, but on top of Ryker, but… but… our lips were touching.
Holy s**t!
I have food now. His lips are my food. Oh no!
