CHAPTER 12

CHAPTER 12 I was so tired from chasing Ryker and slapping him, so we decided to go back to the gazebo where our classmates and friends were. Maybe they were already done eating. Gosh, maybe there won’t be any more delicious food left. “Did I tire you out?” he asked. I glared at him. “What do you think? You tired me out from tickling me, you know I don’t like being tickled like that. I almost couldn’t breathe because of you. And look! We haven’t even gone swimming in the sea yet, and I’m already dirty, Sullivaño!” I complained while we were still walking slowly on the sand because I could barely walk anymore. “It’ll go away later. I’ll massage you if you want?” “Free? I’m up for it if it’s free. I don’t have any money,” I said, hoping he’d agree because my body really ached. “No! Do you think there’s still free stuff now? There’s no free stuff now, Aubree Lynn,” he said. I pouted because I thought I could get away with the word “free.” Oh well, in this time, things have changed, including the rising prices, and there’s really no free stuff anymore. If there is, only a few people get it. Oh, life. That’s why I don’t want to get married yet, just crush. It’s enough for me, especially if it’s Sebastian. “If there’s no free stuff, then I’ll pay when we get home. I’ll owe you, no interest because I’m at a loss, I don’t have a job yet!” I said with a sly smile because I really didn’t intend to pay him. “Why wait until we get home when you can just pay later.” “Huh? What?” “I’ll give you a one-hour massage, and if you’re going to pay, instead of money, it’s also one hour of kissing on the lips—f**k! Why?” he groaned while holding his knee. He got kicked, you see. “You’ve already kissed me a lot, and you want to add more, and the worst part is, one hour of kissing? Are you okay?” Look at this Sullivaño again! Instead of answering my question, he laughed at me. He even put his hand on his stomach. “You don’t want that? Aubree Lynn Corpez kissed the one and only Ryker Matt Sullivaño! Ooops-” I was about to kick him again, but the i***t dodged. “You just kissed me, you’re so happy, huh. For your information, you’re not good at it.” “Well, if I’m not good, why do you moan my name when we kiss?” “You’re so rude, Ryker! Hey! I’m not moaning your name, okay? I was just stopping you, that’s it! Your lips aren’t good because you smell like cigarettes.” “Ahh, if I didn’t smoke, you’d definitely enjoy it more. Noted, Aubree Lynn,” he said laughing. “Still no. That was the last kiss because these lips are only for Sebastian, okay?” I assured him, but I was suddenly surprised that his expression changed immediately. “Why?” He combed his hair with his fingers back and took a deep breath. He looked at me, his gaze was still sharp, I’m not sure if it was because of me or for another reason. “Let’s go, I’m hungry!” he said instead. I pouted because he suddenly became serious. Is this the effect when he’s hungry? He’s not in the mood to talk to me anymore. “Hey! Are you okay?” I asked while we were still holding hands as we walked towards our classmates. “Yeah, I guess so…” “That’s because you’ve been hungry since earlier, right? That’s why you ran away when we were about to eat. I’m hungry too, you made me hungry chasing you.” I said, but this guy was really serious, he wasn’t even going along with my joke, or is this even a joke? I just let it go, maybe he’s hungry, and maybe he’ll eat me alive. Yay! “Where have you been? You look tired,” Sebastian asked when he approached me where I was sitting when Ryker and I arrived. Ryker went inside because he said he’d get something, and I went straight to the gazebo. Only Ryker and I hadn’t started eating yet, while the others were done or almost done and were talking to someone. “To the farthest beach because your friend is an i***t. Just because he’s tall and a runner in school, he tired me out chasing him,” I complained to Sebastian. “Really? He’s teasing you again? Next time, don’t chase him, you’ll just get tired. You know he has cheetah-s**t blood!” “I heard that, you i***t!” Both Sebastian and I were surprised when Ryker suddenly threw a rolled-up tissue at him. Good thing it didn’t hit his face, but Sebastian’s chest. The cheetah, I mean this guy, had already returned. “Eat now, little kitten-” “What did you call me?” I interrupted what he was about to say because of what I heard. My hair suddenly stood on end because of annoyance. “Little kitten–” he said and laughed. I threw the tissue back at him, “I’m not a kitten.” “Almost…” “You…” “Oh! Come here! I’ll feed you these vegetables here, and one more thing to be fair. You guys gossiped about me earlier that I’m a cheetah, so you should be called kitten. I got so many scratches from you,” he said while showing his arm and neck that I supposedly scratched. I scoffed, that’s what you deserve, you’re annoying. “Eat now and rest for a while. Your friend said you guys will play volleyball later,” because of what Sebastian said, I immediately thanked him for the plate with food he gave me and started eating while Ryker sat in front of me as if nothing happened earlier, the teasing, and he was also eating. I just ignored it, because we might end up somewhere else with our name-calling. The three of us talked about what other activities we could do here before we went home. Our friends started swimming in the sea, even here you could tell it was clear because the sunlight reflected off the blue water. Some were playing cards in their cottage, and others were playing beach volleyball. Ryker and I ate late afternoon because we prioritized getting tired from running than filling our stomachs with food. After I ate, I went inside the house to change into new swimwear. “Don’t wear a bikini or a short swimsuit if you’re going to swim!” I suddenly jumped in surprise again. “You! Clear your throat first or talk while you’re far away before you speak, not when you’re already behind me, I get startled!” I said. I slapped his shoulder because he was laughing again. I don’t know, but he really wants to annoy me today, or maybe he’ll do this until we go home. “I’ll pull your hair!” “Not yet, pull my hair later when you moan my name in bed—oops! Chase me!” he said laughing while running away from me. “Rude! You’re really a pervert, Ryker Matt Sullivaño!” I shouted at him. I don’t care if our friends or the people guarding the house hear. He’s really rude, he just says whatever comes to his mind. “So annoying!” Maybe my blood pressure will always be high throughout our stay here. My goodness! I quickly went into the guest room and took a shower from the faucet before going out and mingling with my classmates. After showering, I wore the black bikini that Rowela and I bought last month at the market. I prepared for this, and I have nothing to be ashamed of about my body. And because it’s ugly when my hair is down, I divided it into two parts so I could tie my hair in a centipede style. Of course, just because I’m going to swim doesn’t mean I can’t look good. I took my lip gloss to put on my lips and Rowela’s sunscreen. I told her I’d use it, so she just left it near my things. And when I was satisfied with my look, I immediately went out of the girls’ room while carrying the snacks I got from the small table that Janice bought, it was for everyone because I contributed to buying it, and as I was going out the door, I was surprised to see Ryker leaning against the girls’ room, and when he noticed I was coming out, he immediately looked at what I was wearing, his brow furrowed. “What now?!” I asked him with raised eyebrows while opening the chips. “Is that what you’re going to wear?” “You saw what I wore, why are you asking?” “Change your clothes, right now!” “Well, if you’re going to order around like that, are you my mom? Just eat these chips, here, take some.” I said, referring to the chips while handing them to him, but he just looked at them and then back at what I was wearing. I was wearing a two-piece, but I was wearing a denim shorts first, and I’ll take it off later when I’m really going to swim. “I said change your clothes, Aubree Lynn Corpez!” “Why? It’s okay, right?!” I answered and then turned around so he could see that my outfit was fine. “A lot of people will look at you if you wear that!” “Well, of course, because they have eyes. They wouldn’t use their nose to see and know what I’m wearing, would they?” “Aubree Lyn!” I glared at him too. “You, you’re so grumpy. What’s wrong with what I’m wearing? Did I interfere with what you’re wearing today? Didn’t I?” I was really complaining to him. “Okay, if you won’t change your clothes, I’ll tell them I kissed you.” “Then tell them! I don’t care, it’s just a kiss,” s**t! That’s not okay because Sebastian might believe him. Whatever, Ryker. I was about to turn my back on him, but he suddenly grabbed my arm, so I ended up face-to-face with his chest. “What?” I immediately broke free from him and moved away. “Change your clothes!” “What should I wear? A long gown while playing ball and long pants while swimming? What if a whale or a shark gets me, you’re really a jerk!” I closed my eyes because he suddenly threw the cloth he’s been carrying since earlier on my face. I looked at it and just sighed to confirm what it was. “Really? I’m going to wear this? Who did you borrow this from?” I said, referring to the black rash guard. “Borrowed? I bought that?” “Wee… no…” “What do you think I am, poor?” “No… arrogant…” “Tsk…” “Bleeeh…” “Change your clothes or else…” there was a threat in his voice. “Or else… what?” “I’ll be the one who undresses your f*****g swimwear, Aubree Lynn, just choose.” I rolled my eyes. “I don’t know what to do with you! It’s okay, right? It’s not indecent to look at, and if you’re worried that someone might harass me, well… I don’t think so, you’re here to protect me and Sebastian, right?” I insisted to him so he could understand. I saw someone earlier wearing this, why didn’t their boyfriends make them change? Maybe Rowela was also wearing this because we planned to wear this. Then this guy I’m facing now, who isn’t even my boyfriend, lover, or even a fling, is interfering. “Change now, Aubree Lynn…” he sounded tired from telling me off. “If I’m going to wear a rash guard, don’t you wear one too, okay? You’ll just wear that rash guard and shorts, and don’t you dare show your abs to anyone! Got it?” “Why? You want to be the only one who can see them? This is all yours, so just change.” “I hate you!” “Change your clothes!” “Okay, brother!” I shouted before I slammed the door shut.
