KARA I curled my feet into the sofa cushions and pressed my head back against the couch, closing my eyes. I thought of the soft, thick, woven blanket that I had at home. I’d made it with wool I’d dyed myself, in bright orange, red and purple. My favorites. The colors of a sunset. A tear slid down my cheek. I wiped it away impatiently. There was no sense being homesick. I was fine. The things that Elder Frey had said haunted me.
