The end of the week is boring. Bryan and his friends didn’t come back to school. I didn’t contact Bryan, not knowing what to ask about the assignment. I don’t want to look stupid and didn’t ask him stupid questions on it. I also didn’t want to look troublesome, since he said he was busy.
It’s already Friday, and we decided to get ready together. I join Nina at her house first, since we wanted to get ready from the beginning together. Addison and Rachelle will join us later, and we will go together there.
I brought my entire makeup vanity, not knowing what to put on. I take a shower at her place, to be fresh and my hair wet, making them easier to style.
Nina helps me to curl my hair, which are cascading in big wave on my chest. She, then, attaches the hair on the top of my head, in a high ponytail, Ariana Grande’s way, the rest of my hair loose. I smile at her, happy that she has great skill when it comes to makeup and style. My hair looks really cute, and I know that, with the white dress, I will look very innocent and pretty. I help to do hers, which are also lose waves, but she leaves them down.
We, then, put on makeup. Our style, again, is very different. Mine looks nude, even though it isn’t at all. I put on foundation, face powder, contouring, concealing under my eyes, and pinkish blush. I accompany it with a light brownish, almost nude, eye shadow, which glitters slightly, and my lips are light pink. I am proud of the result, while Nina opts for a less natural look. Red lipstick, and smoky eyes. She looks gorgeous, and I would totally be jealous if I didn’t know that Bryan didn’t like that look. We put on our outfit, and the bell rings. Perfect timing.
Addison appears with her princess’ dress, and she is so cute. She looks like a doll, and we smile warmly at her, complimenting her on her looks. She blushes and returns the compliment. I love that girl; she is so freaking cute!
We continue to get ready, Nina decided to style Addi’s hair. We find her so cute that we want to put in her hair a tiara that Nina had when she was younger. It would suit her so much, but Addison runs around the house, screaming, and laughing, trying to escape from us.
Finally, Rachelle arrives, and we are shocked to see her wear the outfit she tried on last time but didn’t buy. “I know what you girls said, but I really liked it, so I came back to buy it,” she tells us, faking innocence. Rachelle then looks at me with a smirk. Nina fakes a smile, and Addi compliments her. She enters and seat with Addi on the sofa.
“You are okay?” Nina asks me, seeing me how piss I am at Rachelle right now.
“We can’t do anything about it,” I answer with a pout. I turn suddenly to Nina and frown, “can we?” I ask her, knowing that if someone has an idea, it will be Nina. My friend smiles devilishly and turns to Rachelle, who can’t see us, as she is sitting and showing us her back.
Nina walks happily toward the two girls, and check Rachelle out. “You know what, it actually looks pretty good. Must have been the light in the shop.” Rachelle smiles at her, but you can still see she is puzzled by Nina’s changement of behavior toward her. She isn’t always mean to Rachelle; we still are a group of friends. She is only that way when it comes to Bryan and me.
“I really love the neckline, but you should have put on a necklace, it would have been so good,” Nina says, looking at her neck, lost in her thoughts. “You had that one necklace, with the heart…”
“Yeah, but I left it at home,” Rachelle answers.
“We should grab it before we go to the party,” Nina says, looking excited.
I stare at her, not understanding what she is doing. I want Rachelle to look worst, not better. As it is time for us to go, we leave the house, but I stay on the side, waiting for Nina. When she walks past me, she smiles widely at me, her eyes shining mischievously. I smile back at her, shaking my head, decided to trust her on that.
We all go to Nina’s mini cooper, and we drive to Rachelle’s house. Nina tells her that we will wait for her in the car. As soon as she enters her house, Nina starts the car again.
“Oh, shoot… I forgot my bracelet at home,” Nina says innocently. “Addi, can you warn Rachelle that we are going back to my house?”
We leave the house, and Addi nods, pulling her phone out. Nina smiles and I chuckle, finally understanding what she is doing.
“Rachelle?” Addison asks when she answers the call.
“Where are you?” we hear her saying thanks to Addi who put the speaker on.
“Nina forgot her bracelet home, we left to take it,” Addi said, innocently.
“You know what, Rachelle,” Nina says loudly for her to understand through the phone. “The easier will be to meet directly there.”
I try to refrain from a laugh, happy from the little trick Nina pulls off. Yeah, that’s mean, but it was Rachelle's fault for not listening to us in the first place.
Rachelle tries to argue, but Nina always found a counter-attack. At some point, Nina just takes the phone from Addi’s hand, and speaks at the same time as her, saying that we arrived at her house and she will have to hang up. “See you there!” Nina shouts happily and hangs out abruptly.
I mutter a thank you at Nina, who looks at me happily. “You can pay me back by being my wing woman, tonight.” I wink at her and smile widely. Help or not, she knows that she can counts on me to hook her up with the guy she wants. Nina rushes to her house, but still be careful to not mess her hair, and comes back a few minutes later. While I waited for her, I check the stories on my phone from classmates who are already there.
It looks amazing and really fun. There are already a lot of people. We never arrive at the beginning, as it is always boring. We always manage to arrive later, when the real fun begins. Plus, I always found it kind of lame to be the first one to arrive. Better to be desired, no?
I recognize a lot of people from our school, but some are total strangers to me. I know everyone at school, not personally, it’s impossible. Not the name as well, as I suck at remembering names, but the face, definitely.
“Ready to go?” Nina asks when she comes back. I scream a yeah, enthusiast to finally go to this party. I have a good feeling about it, I know it is my night!
I look back at Nina’s driveaway and see Rachelle’s car, I try to refrain from a chuckle, knowing that she will struggle to go. Nina notices and smiles at me, which I return.
