I shouldn’t have drank so much… “Where the hell am I?!”
The room looked like one out of a magazine, very inviting, but was I safe? Was last night a dream? Did those guys bring me here?
“ You’re awake! How grand!” A sweet voice said as a brunette lady slid into the doorway holding a tray of what looked to be medicine, coffee, or tea.
“Who are you? What am I doing here? What is this place??” I slid my legs up and tucked them up under my arms.
“ You are completely safe here miss! My boss had brought you here late last night after he found you in quite the predicament downtown with some rogue … I mean thugs!”
She approached me softly and gently.
“I assume your head pain is causing you a great deal of discomfort? I’ve brought you some acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Also some coffee, or tea to wash it down. Wasn’t sure what you’d like.” She smiled as she set the tray down next to me on the bed then retreated back to the doorway.
“ You said your boss brought me here, is he here?” I asked as I gulped down the pills.
“He is currently up in the penthouse miss, where he is staying. But he would like you to come up to meet him in the foyer when you are feeling well enough to.” she replied.
“Oh, okay. I think I just need a little bit of water and to wash my ..”
I looked down at my hands and they were already cleaned and bandaged up, and so were my knees.
“ I see I’ve already been cleaned up, thank you. Where is the restroom?” I asked.
“Right there miss, door is to your right.” She replied as she pointed down the hall that ran beside the bed.
“Thank you.”
It was slightly difficult getting out of the massive bed, but I managed to get down the hall and into the bathroom. One glance into the mirror and I could definitely tell last night was no dream. That guy definitely hit me good. I had a huge bruise on the left top of my forehead. There was a slight cut in the skin too, where someone had put a bandage on it to close it. I looked pretty beat up. Why did they not take me to a hospital? Why was I here, wherever I was..
I washed my hands and quickly ran my fingers over my long black unkept hair to try to make it look a little more presentable. My dress had some rips through out but held up pretty well otherwise. I realized I had no idea where my converse were and started searching for them eagerly as I walked out of the bathroom.
“Looking for these miss?” the brunnette said as she held up my favorite pair of black converse sneakers.
“Ah! Yes! Thank you!”
“I think I’d like to see your boss to thank him, and be on my way home now if that’s okay” I said as I bent down to put on my shoes.
“Right this way miss!” she replied while signaling me to follow her into the elevator.
The elevator seemed to appear out of nowhere blending into the wall. She pressed the Penthouse button and the elevator took off towards the top.
When the doors slid open the foyer that awaited seemed almost unreal. It was so beautiful, like something from my dreams. There was a beautiful water feature with spouts coming out of floral arrangements, with birds, and in the center was the most gorgeous stone carved wolf I’ve ever seen. It’s eyes seemed to be made of a beautiful amber colored gem. The cascading staircases surrounding the feature were marvelous and I almost felt like I needed a shovel to scrape my jaw up off of the floor.
“You can have a seat right here miss. Mr. Hunt will be out to see you in a second.” the brunnette said while motioning for me to sit on a beautiful victorian setee that most definitely didn’t look like something to be sat on.
I couldn’t even take a second look at the water feature or other details around the foyer because a scent of dark amber, oak, and honey hit my nose like a hurricane. It was like I had never smelled something so strongly in my lifetime. My head felt light with euphoria. It was like tasting something without actually tasting it, and wanting it really, really badly.
“What is that amazing smell?”
“You are one very lucky lady.” Said a mysterious voice.
I turned to see a guy standing over me. He wore black dress pants and a button up shirt with the top button undone. He had to be around 6’2. He had dark brown wavy hair that tossled over to the side and tattoos going up his neck on the other side. He was looking straight into my eyes with the most green eyes I’ve ever seen. I felt trapped in his gaze.
“I’m Theo Hunt, and you are?” He said very elegantly.
“I’m uh Samara Fox. I wanted to thank you for helping me last night” I slurred my speech.
Come on Samara, you pick right now to be a complete i***t?!
“It’s a pleasure to finally meet you, I hope Addison got you the things you needed.” He gestured towards the brunnette.
“Oh of course! Thank you Addison, I appreciate you!”
“Do you know what those guys were doing last night Samara?” Theo asked rather concerned.
“My guess is that they weren’t looking to take me for ice cream if that’s what you’re asking.” I replied.
“You know how I found you, right?” He asked hopefully.
“Uhm, I was screaming. So you probably heard me. Or were in the right place at the right time somehow. I don’t know honestly. But I can’t thank you enough.”
He seemed rather concerned with my reply.
“Look, I should probably get going back to my hotel. My friend is probably wondering where I am. And I’d really just like to rest I think.” I stated as I reached for my bag
“Hold on! You really don’t have any clue? Maybe you should rest here for as long as you need. Use our guest services for whatever you need including phones, chargers, amenities and contact your friend to let her know you’re okay. I’d really like to have a conversation with you when you’re feeling up to it.” Theo said eagerly.
I wanted to refuse his offer, but something about him seemed very alluring. Like something was pulling me to him and I didn’t want this to be the last I saw of him. So I followed Addison to a room off of his penthouse.
Walking into the room I would’ve guessed they had planned for me to stay. There were pajamas folded on the bed. Size 4, my size. That’s really weird. Addison probably just went to grab some on hand that they had. Rich people always have an abundance of things like that for guests I guess.
I changed, pulled up my hair and immediately texted Kota:
I’m at a penthouse with a guy who saved me from a bad situation last night, don’t worry all is well. Going to stay for a bit to chat, but I’ll be back soon! ily!
