Moira's Pov
The meeting began very early as soon as I was done telling Benjamin about all the plans I had for killing Elara, it was so satisfying I was thinking about seeing the devil himself one day
Maybe, we will be able to talk about taking over the world together one day. It has been my lifelong dream in many ways.
Leader Wilson had Simmon Marcus and we were all waiting for Marcus to come in. At least, he should be able to defend himself from whatever atrocities he had committed.
I stared at the space unsure of what to say. Or even give an opinion, I didn't want Wilson to speak against me. He was very powerful, so powerful I don't even know how he disappears.
And that was the thing about how awesome his powers are. I stared at him, my eyes glued on his eyes. Those silver eyes were always lost, but he was very aware of his surroundings. Even the whole council environment cannot be disorganized without his knowledge, he is always aware.
“ Tell Marcus that his time will soon be gone, and I will have his head if he doesn't appear in the next Second.” Wilson said, his voice cutting through the space.
His thick baritone voice shook the floor violently. I wonder how he stays in check outside the council and when he is in this council, the whole ground will shake just at his voice.
The next second, the huge oak door swung open. Marcus dashed in, he was panting like hell. At the last moment, he dropped to his knees.
“ My Lord,” he said.
“ And why are you late?” Wilson asked.
I felt a chill run down my spine as soon as he made that statement. My heart froze, he was using immense power to keep Marcus in check.
“ My Lord, I got caught up in some vines in the forest while coming.” He said
I could sense the insincerity in his voice. He was lying, how can vines and thorns slow down a mighty wolf.
“ I will ask a few questions, and I want you to be plain.” Wilson said,
At that moment, I realised something. He was in a good mood. If it was the angry version of him, Marcus would have been dead by now.
And I was right about it, Marcus? He won't be alive at all. He also won't be the one standing to speak these words.
“ Yes my Lord,” Marcus replied, lowering his head.
“ Why had you captured Elara?” Wilson asked.
“ My Lord,” Marcus called. “ She is a silver Alpha and silver alphas are forbidden.” Marcus said.
“ Clear point,” he said. “ But, why didn't you inform me that she was a silver Alpha, which she is not in any way possible.” Wilson added
“ My Lord, she portrays the quality of a silver Alpha,” Marcus argued.
“ Is my judgement wrong?” Wilson yelled,
“ No my lord, butー”
Before Marcus could finish his words, Wilson was no more in his seat. Wilson had already appeared in front of him, his strong arm wrapped around Marcus's neck.
I gasped, turning my head to look at the other Council head hoping they would do something, but they just watched… Wilson was the most powerful among them, he was the supreme leader. And they could not challenge him.
“ I’m sorry, My Lord.” Marcus's voice came out strangled and weak.
Immediately, Leader Wilson let go of his neck and Marcus fell flat to the floor with a thud. He gasped for air continuously, he faced the floor not daring to look Leader Wilson in the eye.
I smiled, a little spark ignited down in my chest. It was all I had dreamed of,Marcus should be treated like he had treated me. He should feel the pain he also inflicts on people.
Wilson turned towards me, he crossed his arms above his chest. I stared at his ample as it slowly moved up then downwards. And at that moment, I knew he had swallowed a saliva.
I felt a lump forming at the back of my throat, my heart froze. And for one moment, I had forgotten how to even breathe. Wilson was staring down into my soul like I had killed someone.
“ You should be happy,” he said. His voice was cold, sending chills down my spine. “You should be happy you never succeeded.” He smiled,
“ What do you mean my Lord?” I asked, hoping he would answer me but he just kept quiet staring deep into my eyes.
He turned towards the council heads each person sitting on their respective throne. A wide smirk tugged across his lips, he blinked for a moment, and I could see the flicker in his eyes.
“I hope the leaders can let our hunter here understand what we are really looking for in a Silver Alpha.” He said, his voice loud.
The leaders all smiled. And for one second, I felt it was forced. It was as if they knew he was doing something underneath, but they wanted to stay behind him so they wouldn't lose their positions.
“She doesn't possess those attributes dear,” Leader Thomas said. His gaze was fixated on Marcus.
“ But, Lord Thomas, she possesses all attributes which we were told.” Marcus countered,
I opened my mouth to speak, but in the next second, I decided against it. Wilson was suspecting me and he was speaking in riddles, so if I should say a word against him , I am biting my own tail.
‘Do not speak dear,’ Evie said in my head.
‘ I know,’ I said.
‘ He has a strong motive,’ She said.
Before I could answer her, I felt a slight tap at the back of my hand. I paused, my vision blurred in an instant. I wanted to scream, but I stopped.
Wilson stood tall, his chest broad. He was staring deep into my soul, he might have noticed the pause in my breathing.
“ Marcus?” He called, “ you can leave. But, I am watching your steps.” His voice was cold.
“ And you,” he lowered his head to my ear. “ I see your every move. Don't you dare,” he whispered.
As soon as he raised his head again, our eyes clashed, he had a smile on his face. He turned his head to look at Marcus who had already scrambled out the room.
The next second, he was gone.
I let out a deep sigh. Not the sigh of relief. My heart was racing badly, and it was about to fall into my stomach. I was just staying in check. I didn't want him to see through my facade.
Although everything he did looked right, and he didn't show his leadership. I had understood one thing firmlyーhe had a dark secret he was hiding and Elara might be involved.
