Chapter 19

Elara's Pov

My eyes fluttered open, the whole room was spinning. Images of Kai and Luna flooded my mind like they were here.

I fixed my eyes blankly at the ceiling as I missed the old times. I waited and waited, but they never came in. I waited for them to come into the room, but they were not there.

Damon had ordered that I stay inside since Raine told him I was suffering from a disorder. It was a pain in my guts. I could just stare, my mind filled with multiple questions. Not only questions, but thoughts that clouded my mind like I was going to die anytime soon.

“ Kai,” I whispered, my voice low. But, I know it echoed through the corridors of the palace. “Luna!” I said, my eyes snapped.

Tears slowly cascaded down my cheek. I laid down on the bed. The day had just made its way through the night escaping captivity. I closed my eyes again. And like I was there, the black space from my dream appeared again.

I was going crazy, there was nothing anyone could tell me. I stood to my feet, the cold from the marble sank into my skin as I slowly made my way out of my room.

I headed to Kai's and Luna's room, and as soon as I stepped inside. The old lavender smell hit my nose hard. It wasn't something newーKai, Lunaーtheir scent. It was still lingering as if they were here.

“ Mummy!” I heard Kai's voice echoing through the room.

My knees buckled, and like I was controlled, I fell to my knees. I let out a low oomph, tears slowly made their ways down my eyes. As I slid my hands across the marble, images flashed across my eyes.

Blood. Kai's body. Luna's body. I watched as they lay stiff on the floor. “ Ah!” I screamed,

Almost immediately, my claws elongated. Pain ran through my veins as I sank them into the cold marble. I felt a shiver run down my spine. The metallic smell of blood rushed down my nostrils.

I closed my eyes for a moment, opening them back. Immediately, the window swung open. A gust of wind blew in, its cold crawled down my skin.

“ Dear,” a familiar masculine voice resounded through the room.

Almost immediately, I paused. My eyes snapped towards where the voice was coming from. Kai's and Luna's portrait. The Voice was familiarーWilson.

“ Wilson?” I called, hoping for an answer.

But, it didn't answer me. Instead, the portrait trembled violently. And before I could stand to my feet or do anything, it fell from the anchor.

Just as I took a step, the portrait clashed against the floor. It clattered loudly, shattering immediately.

“ No,” I whispered. Going down to my knees, I crawled towards the shards of glasses.

As I was about to pick up the shards of glass the door swung open behind me.i startled at first, but the next second I continued picking up the shards. I didn't care about the person at the door.

“ Luna?” I heard Raine's voice.

Immediately, I paused in my movement. Tears welled up again, rolling down my face uncontrollably. I just paused, staring at the shards of glasses in my hands.

She dashed up to me, wrapping her hands around my body. Her cold grip made me shiver. But, I gripped myself. I turned my head to look at her.

“ Raine?” I called, “ Raine, my pups. Kai and Luna, they are still alive right?” I asked, nodding my head continuously.

“ Luna, calm down.” She said,

I cupped her face, looking down into her soul. “ Answer me!” I snapped, my voice louder.

“ Luna,” she said.

I expected her to continue speaking, but she didn't say a word. I just stared into her eyes, unable to say or do anything. But, I knew for a factーmy pups were still alive.

“ Answer me!” I yelled, my voice cutting through the room.

Almost immediately, I pushed her away with all my strength. My body trembles violently. “ Answer me!” I yelled, “ Kai? Luna? They are alive, right?” I yelled.

“ Hey calm down,” Damon's voice came from behind me.

He stepped into the room, his steps fast. He quickly shielded Raine from me, allowing her to crawl out.

“ Damon,” I cried, throwing myself on him.

My arms wrapped around him tightly, my head was above his shoulders. And as soon as I sniffed his scent, I felt that wave of calm wash down on me.

“ Hey, calm down.” He whispered,

“ Kai and Luna are alive, right?” I asked, “ I saw them.” I said,

Tears rushed down my eyes, “ I saw them, tied up on a chair,” I said, my voice low.

“ Calm down dear, you need to control yourself. The pack needs you.” He said,

As soon as he said those words, I flew into rage. “ Pack?” I yelled, “can they revive my twins? Will they?” I asked.

He kept quiet, he didn't say a word. I didn't let him go, I hugged him right there. Each moment that passed was a reminder of my pups. Their lovely eyes, the way they had changed my life ever since Kade had rejected me.

“ They will bring back your happiness dear,” he said.

As soon as he said those words, I didn't know how, but I calmed down immediately. My raging anger, my racing heart, my trembling fingers, everything went still.

“ The pack,” I said.

“ Yes, the pack.” He said,

I didn't have anything anymore. Now I have the pack to stay with me. I have them to look over me, I have them to bring back my happiness.

Almost immediately, he let go of me, cupping my face. He leaned his head forward landing a soft kiss above my head.

He smiled. Suddenly, I felt something shift in his eyes. His eyes flickered. For one moment, those iris were blue, the next they turned black.

“ Hey, what happened?” I asked, grabbing his hands.

He gave an awkward smile, staring into my eyes. Those cold shivers I had once felt were playing right across his skin, I could feel it from his grip. I could feel the pain, but they weren't mine, they were his.

“ I'm fine,” he smiled. But, his face said it all, something was going on inside of him.
