Damon's Pov
I stared into her eyes, I smiled as I noticed the pain in her eyes was gone. She hadn't forgotten any of it, she had just left the pain aside. She had shifted her belief. Her belief that the pack would assist her. The pack would also be with her.
“ What happened?” She asked again,
Unfortunately I couldn't give her the answer. If I told her what had happened, the whole thing would not work anymore. And the pain? Everything would return. And that was what I was trying to avoid. I was trying my best to avoid that pain.
“ Nothing dear,” I lied.
She hugged me tightly again. I quickly stopped breathing. I could inhale her scent right now, else the spell will break and she will suffer from that same pain I was trying to avoid.
I felt an ache in my chest. The pain surged through me, and for a split second it was gone. I felt the grip on my leg weakened. My wolf growled deeply inside of me.
I bit my lips down hard. I couldn't let the pain over ride me. I needed to control myself, so I closed my eyes for a second. Flashes of memories, images I didn't recognize, memories that weren't mine, it flooded my mind like a scene from a movie.
And the next moment, I saw what she had said. Kai and Luna, they were both sitting right on a wooden carved chair, tied up. The next second, I opened my eyes.
My breath became hectic, I turned my eyes away from her.
“ You said nothing happened right?” She asked,
“ Yes dear,” I said.
I couldn't let her know what I had done for her. If I had mentioned a little thing about whatever I had done, the whole pain would return to her.
“ You seem to be behaving awkwardly,” she said, lowering her eyes to look into mine.
“Hey, don't worry.” I said, pushing her slightly. “ Go visit the hospital, the pack needs you.” I said.
“ Okay!” She smiled, and immediately she turned sharply, hopping out of the room.
Almost immediately, I rushed towards the door slamming it shut instantly. I can't let the pain over ride my sanity. I needed to control myself. I needed to be strong.
I felt my wolf pushing hard to come out, but I gripped myself firmly. I couldn't let the pain take over. Not at all,
“ Er!” A loud growl erupted from my chest.
My vision became blurry, the next second. I felt the whole world become blind to me, I was becoming deaf.
Tears clouded my eyes immediately, my heart aching badly. “ Ah!” I screamed,
Immediately, I retrieved my phone from my pocket. I didn't wait, I quickly dialed my brother's number.
I watched as the phone kept ringing quietly. But, he didn't pick the call. I waited and as soon as it stopped vibrating, I called him again, and this time, he answered the call.
“ Hello?” I said, my voice coming out rough.
“ Hey, have you done what I told you?” He asked,
“ Daniel, the pain is more than I thought.” I said, “ my body has become weak, I can't even control my Wolf anymore.” The last words came out roughly, nor like a loud growl.
“ What?” He asked,
“ Get your ass down here now!” My voice was more like a growl.
“ Okay, I will be there!”
Immediately, he ended the call. I dropped the phone. But the next second, I felt my whole body begin trembling violently. Pain shot through me hard.
Cracking bones filled the air more like I was going to transform any moment, but the more I tried to shift the more the pain intensified, and I couldn't do anything.
“ Ah!!” I screamed.
The room became very hot, the heat increasing with every second, or maybe it's just me. Maybe it's just my body.
Cracking sound filled the air, a violent shock wave rushed through me violently. I took a step, but immediately I regretted it.
I felt the bones in my legs shift. “Ah!” My voice cut through the silence of the room.
My claws elongated, and it was more painful than I thought. The pain surged through my fingers. I felt each moment, I felt each minute, I felt each second as it passed.
“Ah!” A raw guttural sound filled the air.
I covered my ears with my hands, the world circling around me. My ears began ringing loudly. I felt it, or felt each pain. I felt each tug on my veins.
My knees gave way, and I fell directly on the ground with a thud. With every second that passed, the bones in my veins shifted.
I began dragging myself towards the drawer right in front of me. It was right beside the big bed. The window was above it, with every second that past, I felt my body become numb.
“ Ah!!” I screamed,
Beads of sweat coated my face, and immediately, the strange metallic smell of blood filled the air.
“ You can't do this dear,” a voice whispered.
I could hear the voice, but I wasn't able to do anything. My body became limp and numb.
“ Feel the pain.” It said,
“ Who… a… Ah!” I screamed, “ who are you?” I managed to complete the sentence.
“ I am no one,” the voice whispered. “ That's the pain of a mother. The pain she felt.” It said,
Tears rolled down my eyes, “ I never caused her harm.” I said,
“ The pain was never meant for you,” it said. “ It was meant for her to grow. The Silver Alpha!” It said,
As soon as it made that statement, my jaw dropped. I felt air making its way out of my lungs. But, I still held those words.
Elara was never a nobody, she was the Silver Alpha. Marcus was right. I had taken the words lightly, and now I am facing its reality.
“The pain!” It whispered,
“ No,” my voice came out strangled.
But that was my mistake, and immediately, I felt air escaping my lungs, it dried up. Almost immediately, I felt my saliva drying up.
No, was this how I was going to die?
